We stayed in this hotel 3 nights and we were very satisfied. Room was comfortable, big enough, with all necessary facilities. Even if the hotel is in the nearby of the airport, you absolutaly don´t hear landing airplanes (we had windows facing toward the airport and weren´t disturbed by any noises). We used private hotel parking that is paid (9 eur/ night) but very probably you can find a free public parking in front of the hotel because it is situated in very quiet no through road. Few meters far from the hotel is a big supermarket opened since early morning till almost midnight. Metro station is cca 10 minutes of walking. You don´t pay anything for a small dog if you don´t let it walk around the hotel. They offer a free bottle of water. Only thing I didn´t like- a bed was prepared only for one person.
The rooms are cosy and warm. Own shower and toilet. Breakfast is good with both continental and fried food. Nice friendly staff. Close to the train(700m), and and a really good Italian restaurant. Also close to other shops and supermarket. Would come again.
We chose this hotel for the price, rather than the location, but having stayed over the last weekend, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel, and the benefits of the location. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk from the nearest U-Bahn (Underground) station at Kurt Schumacher Platz. In addition, Kurt Schumaker Platz is only a 10 minute bus ride from Tegel Airport. In all, it makes for a very easy transfer from the airport to the hotel (€2.90). The hotel is clean and comfortable, but a little austere. That said, it was quiet, and more than adequate for our needs. Simply put, it was somewhere to sleep, rather than spend time. Advice: Don't pay for the hotel breakfast at €9, but walk back to Kurt Schumaker Platz in the morning. The local Bakery / Cafe does a full continental breakfast including coffee, for just €5.90. Once you have had breakfast, the local U-Bahn (route U2) takes you in to the middle of the city in just 10 stops with no changes (Friedrich Strasse)From there you can jump to anywhere. I would recommend buying a Welcome Card ticket for the public transport. You might only break even on the transport that you use, but the ticket offers discounts on many other attractions, which will save you more money. We took advantage of the Yellow Route Hop On - Hop Off tourist bus and saved around €7.
We stayed in this hotel only for a night because we had a long layover between our flights and the hotel is close to Tegel airport—this is its greatest convenience. To get to the hotel, take bus #128 in front of terminal A, get off at K. Schumacher Platz and then walk for about 4-5 min. to the hotel—it’s that easy. The room we stayed in seemed recently renovated—it was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom was a disaster—broken tiles, mold all over the shower and the sunk—really nasty. Other than this, we were fine for a night.
I did stay there for two nights and was very happy with the service. It is nothing special really but the friendliness of staff and their willingness to assist made it a very pleasant stay. Very close to a big supermarket, if you like to buy cheap supplies.
Room is a bit austere but clean and has everything needed. Service is courteous. Good breakfast buffet with fresh buns and baked goods, cold cuts and cheeses, fresh fruit, variety of yogurts, cereals, good coffee, lots of tea choices and juice.
Hotel was close to shopping, cafes, restaurants, bus and metro station. The breakfast was great and bed was comfortable.
This is an old hotel, dirty, with no free parking, no internet terminal, no coffee early. The room was small, with a very small shower. There was free WiFi, and the breakfast was a good typical German breakfast. There is a very good Italian Restaurant just down the street.
We had a one night layover in Berlin and stayed at this hotel for It's location near TXL airport, it's a 7 min drive. Rooms are small and so it is the shower, I guess you would not expect a lot from this type of hotels but if you are only staying no more than one night the price value is with it. Service is good. Vending machine in case you need a midnight snack, not much going on around the hotel.
Hotel smelled of smoke (tobacco) even though we had a non-smoking room. Area of city not great (close to Tegel Airport is only reason we stayed). Would not stay there again. Was relying on a brand I knew (Days Inn), but it wasn't even up to a shoddy Motel 6 standard. Tiny bathroom and shower; acceptably clean (at least linens and towels were clean).
