DORMERO Hotel Berlin Ku'damm4.5 out of 5.0

Room was good but with a limit view. The staff was nice but the reception staff and the restaurant staff have a habit to disappear for 10-15 minutes and it is no way to call there attention. One day I asked a cleaner for help and got the not so helpful answer "they will come soon just wait". Annoying Location of the hotel is very good.
My new favourite hotel in Berlin. Located just 1.5 blocks away from the Ku'damm, this hotel is in a very quiet area in the middle of a residential area. The rooms have a special touch, but are absolutely quiet and well designed. Unbelievable, but they offer free drinks in the mini bar. I particularly love the beds. They are of superior quality, I rarely slept so well in a hotel. They have an inside court, surrounded by a winter garden, where they serve a breakfast offering everything you might ask for. In the small open court, it was possible to eat outside, very nice now in summer. They serve very good food, too. The Dormero hotel chain is "young", so is the ambitious staff. They are very friendly. And there is even an underground garage.
We stayed three nights in April this year. Very good check in experience, friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms with good amenity's, even free mini bar items. Very good base for your activities, walking distance to Ku damm and metro station Wittenberg Platz from where you can reach all of Berlin. Very good value for money, we will definitely be back.
To me this is not a 5 stars. I'd give them a 3.5 stars. Its a very small place that was going into some renovation, mainly the elevator. One was broken when i was there. The room was very hot. Of course it was hot in Berlin during my stay and the AC couldnt provide any cool air. I had to change room twice because the first room had no AC and the second one no TV !. You don't travel for TV but after a 3 days without tv they finally change me to a room with a TV and a bit of fresh air. I didnt try the restaurant. The service for the most part was not friendly. One employee did his best to help me though but most of them didnt seems to care. The room (those with some decent AC) was comfortable. I cannot recommend this place and i certainly won't go back.
My family and I stayed in this hotel for a week at the end of June 2016 while I was attending a conference. We all absolutely loved it! The room had a sliding door so we could seperate the sleeping areas. There is a huge TV and bed. Also free mini bar which is a fantastic touch. This room is clean, luxurious and central to shops, restaurant and a quick walk to the train station. Highly recommended!
This hotel is in a great location, near the centre but on a quiet street. As we were driving the parking you could pay for under the hotel was appreciated. There aren't many spaces and this isn't guaranteed. The only reason we gave 4 stars not 5 were that we didn't eat there as breakfast and dinner was better value at local restaurants, particularly the one at the end of the road. Also although we had booked and paid for 3 double rooms at the same price, the room for 1 person was much smaller. This wasn't acceptable to us as this visit was for a very special occasion. Although after a wasted hour the manager sorted this out it was a really upsetting start to our trip. Be warned the double rooms vary in size we thoughts one of them was a single without a price reduction. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was well decorated and furnished. We thought the free drinks in the minibar which were replenished daily were a lovely touch. If we visit Berlin again we would definitely stay here although it wasn't the cheapest option.
I thought the price I paid was a steal considering the various excellent reviews of this hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal for those who value quite surroundings. Its on a quite street with easy access to Kudam Bldv and the metro stations. Maybe 15 mins walk to Kadewe. Within the vicinity there are a few restaurants but at night its quite. You really can sleep well. The hotel exude exclusivity but there seems to be no night activity/events going on despite the plush interiors. Mood lighting in the courtyard for a quite night cap. the hotel does not seem to be busy although when I checked online for an extension for 2 more days in the week, the price has doubled already from when I first booked. The room given to me was quite large for European standard. The bathroom was awkward. With too much sleeping space the shower enclosure is too tight. The toiletries are basic but enough for a short stay. Upon arrival I was advised that the TV in the room was not working and that it will be fixed soon. The wifi was patchy in the room but was strong in the lobby. The next day I reminded the front desk to fix it again and when I came back the night I was told it was. But it wasnt. The Receptionist in the early morning was more concerned about my predicament with the Wifi and the TV not working and he told me he will see if he can move me to a better room. Never happened, but i grant him the effort. There was work going on in the lobby, stair and elevator, but never saw any improvement at all during my stay. The elevator stinks and it could be the padding that they placed which smells. Saving grace is that the corridors are well lighted and smelling better. I told the reception while I was leaving early morning on my 3rd day about the hotel amenities that I did not use and had I not asked he would not have offered to give me a free breakfast. The hotel breakfast is 18Euro which was a bit expensive compared to other hotels in the area (eg, the new Motel One in Upper West Kudam charges 10Euro, though lesser in quantity but has a spacious place at the upper floor with views of the city).
I stayed here for 2 nights and was very impressed. Decor is stimulating and modern - next to the main reception desk a large part of the wall has been converted in to a colourful water feature. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. If your German is highly limited (like mine) the levels of English fluency amongst staff was excellent. Rooms are clean and spacious. Quality of toiletries supplied was very good. Adjustable colour lighting in the room was a nice touch too. The dining options are very good. The restaurant Die Quadriga offers high quality food that is reasonably priced. Outside space nicely designed: suite of dining/eating rooms organised around an open courtyard. 3 minor issues prevented this from being a 5 star review: - sauna not working during visit - frequent problems with elevators - I requested a room with a bath, I noted this on my Expedia booking. This may be an issue with Expedia not hotel. Great central location. Highly recommend the cocktail bar. Good choice. Quirky menu and large range of spirits. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Stayed here for 5 nights. Initial impressions were very good - lovely reception area, friendly staff and we even managed to check into our room earlier than planned. Rooms are modern and furnished in a sleek, black/white/red style. The bed was very comfortable (and HUGE) and in standard German style there are 2 single duvets instead of one large one (something that might seem/feel strange if you're not used to it). There were a few unexpected extras in the room which was a nice touch, including a "treasure chest" in the bathroom (including some basic essential items) and also a free mini bar (yes, free!). The mini bar had 2 bottles of water, one Pepsi, one fresh apple juice, an energy drink and a beer, and was replenished every day, again for free. Sadly I don't drink beer and for other non-beer drinkers, it might be nice if they offered a small bottle of wine or sekt too. The bathroom was fine but my only small complaint (as other reviewers have mentioned) was the shower and the fact that the floor ends up very wet afterwards (there's no door or curtain to keep the water in). Our hotel deal didn't include breakfast and we ate elsewhere every day so I can't comment on that, however there was a large selection of fresh fruit every day at the reception desk that you could help yourself too so again, another very nice touch! There's a U-Bahn station at the end of the street (Augsburger Straße), which is just a few minutes walk from the hotel and Kurfürstendamm and its U-Bahn station are approx 10mins walk away. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a modern hotel in a good location :)
I've stayed at this hotel twice and both times everything was wonderful. Rooms are stylish and large. The location is great, close to great shopping and dinning. This hotel has a very unique, very hip Berlin feel to it. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I travel for work and stay in hotels more often than I'm home and when I say this hotel is one of my favorites that says something. It's not like a standard Hilton or Marriott that all feel the same, this place has a vibe that fits the city it's in.
