Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center4.0 out of 5.0

Located right in the middle of Berlin, the quite freshly refurbished hotel offers spaceous and bright rooms at a decent price: great value! Staff has been friendly and very service oriented. Spittelmarkt subway station is a 5 minutey walk from the hotel, providing convenient and frequent transportation options to the city‘s most interesting spots. This Courtyard’s overall value is excellent; the breakfast buffet’s quality lags behind the other features, though.
This was our first stop on our European vacation. The hotel staff was courteous and answered our questions. The hotel was clean and quiet. Did not like the location would have preferred staying near Kurfurstendamm on the west side of the city. There really wasn't anywhere to walk to, we felt very isolated. They had a Great breakfast with a vast selection of breakfast options. Also they have a small store in the lobby to purchase water, wine, beer and incidentals for traveling.
A nice hotel, with spacious rooms and bathrooms. Clean and comfortable. the location is not awful by any means, but its a hike away from the main sights. That said, the underground stations is just minutes away.
This is a review of the Hotel and staff which was very much diminished by corporate(?) policies. First this is a great location within waling distance of most of the city centre attractions and very near the metro(?) station so anywhere is easily accessible. The rooms were quiet clean with plenty of space. A very large bathroom, certainly by European standards. The towels were not what I've come to expect from EU towels as these were not the big thirsty towels but they got the job done. Room temperature was a problem as it was quite warm the days we visited and the room never cooled ith the AC. Window provided relief but with street noise couldn't leave open over night. Also Safe fridge configuration didn't work as to access the safe the fridge door opened as well so lots of cool lost. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of variety and good service. Now for the bad taste. My wife booked via a web tool as she had extreme difficulty using the Marriott.com website and was afraid we wouldn't get a room as it seemed to be filling up fast. So when I arrived in town(Edinburgh) I tried to call Marriott, who instructed me to contact the hotel to get us moved from a rate that we didn't need(parking included?) and have added to my Marriott rewards account. I was told that a) it couldn't be moved without canceling the original booking, and yes there was a risk that either the room wouldn't be available and/or rate had increased and b) since we booked via a travel agent we wouldn't get rewards points or credit for the nights. While it was a chunk of money that we spent, I said I mainly wanted the credit for the 4 nights. Nothing doing. I never knew that you were treated with such disdain if booked via a travel agency?! As a follow up I provided the same feedback to the Marriott after trip survey. The feedback was sorry that's out policy, but we'll credit you for the nights stays on your account..... which a month later still have not shown up on my account. This is not the way a guest, regardless of how it was booked should be treated. I paid a premium for this brand and location, but felt like a 2nd class citizen and a very bad mark against Marriott for me and my family
The hotel is well positioned but far enough away from the main attractions to let you wonder and see some of Berlin that perhaps your would not have planned to see. The room was conformable, clean and well maintained. A safe was provided as well as a fridge, tea and coffee etc. The food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The bar staff were also very pleasant. Overall, an ideal place to stay for a city break.
Really lovely hotel in a very handy location. Just 3 stops on the UBahn from Alexanderplatz and just round the corner from Spittelmarkt stop, this hotel was 10 mins walk from Checkpoint Charlie in one direction and 10 mins from Gendarmenmarkt in another. The hotel itself was clean and spotlessly tidy, the staff were smiley, polite and ever helpful. Our room, one of the King size bed rooms, was on the sixth (top) floor and was a great size. The mini fridge was a godsend, especially as we nabbed a few bits at the local Lidl, just round the corner, to keep us fed and watered (helpful if, like us youre tryi g to save a fewbpennies on lunch!). There was also an ice machine, which was very handy. We didn't use the gym, however I'm sure it would have been great. The bar was welcoming and they did some lovely food, we can recommend the Club Sandwich, the Gentleman's Salad and the Salami pizza.
We stayed here recently and it was great in every way. Very clean modern room rooms.Quiet at night. Very helpful and friendly reception and dining room staff. Great tasty buffet breakfast with lots of options such as juice, pastries, cereals, boiled eggs. Bacon, sausages, fruit, yogurt, dried fruits and even a waffle maker. We also had lunch there one of the days and it was very nice and the price was very reasonable. It was 2 minutes to the nearest tube station and there was a bus stop directly outside the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
If you're staying in Berlin for business or a long weekend trip, the Courtyard is all you really need. It's not a luxury, stay in your room and enjoy the spa hotel, but who wants that when you have 3 days and so much to see? Instead the Courtyard is very clean, hospitable, safe, and includes all the amenities you could really want like an iron in your room, tea and coffee and a good breakfast should you choose it. I have stayed in several hotels in Berlin and while this isn't "Berlin Style" (read: hipster), it is comfortable and very well located for the price you pay. Would stay here again!
We stayed here for a weekend and were very comfortable. The hotel is about a 10 to 12-minute cab ride from the central station. Rooms are modern, clean, and quiet. Staff was very friendly and perfectly accommodated all our requests. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many sights are within walking distance if you don't mind a 15-minute stroll. For a hotel of this category and rating, they are doing a fine job and helped make our brief stay in Germany's capital a pleasant one.
All the staff make you welcome. The breakfast on offer will meet everyones needs. Clean. Close to many of the tourist attractions. Can't say anymore than enjoyed my 3 nights stay. This was my 2nd visit and will not be my last.
