Descent room with very good price

Just need to have a room to rest and sleep after a long flight. This really serve the purpose. Neighborhood has much to offer on food, drinks etc. And the price is really good for such descent room.

The breakfast was outstanding. Extremely quiet, even with open windows. Excellent location and public transportation right in front of door. Only small issue was that we didn't know upfront about key code for check-in after 9pm. Last minute communication was difficult due to international SIM card.

Good for a low-cost mini break

Pretty much exactly what I needed for a short break in Berlin - somewhere not too far off the beaten track (just a few minutes walk south-west of Frankfurter Tor U-Bahn station) for me to lay my head after a full day's tourism. Service was friendly, the room was simple but had everything I needed. The hotel is situated in what appears to be a larger accommodation complex, with a rather imposing metal gate (I was buzzed in for tje first time, but the room comes with a key that fits all of the external doors) that leads into a courtyard with the door to main reception opposite. When I arrived back late in the evening, I had three doors to unlock before I could get to my room... I'm just glad I didn't go hard on the Oktoberfest celebrations! The only caveat I would offer is that coming to Berlin expecting to be able to pay for things by card/electronically was a mistake - many places only accept cash, and I had to go without breakfast (about €6) because the hotel couldn't take card payment. If/when I return to Berlin, I will definitely stay here again.

A very tiring experiance

We arrived early in the morning (2:00am) and the provisions for obtaining our keys worked very well; however, the good news ended there. The lift was out and continued to be out for the length of our stay. We are not sure how long it had been out, but the problem did not seem to be new and we did not see a lot of activity to get it fixed. The rooms of the hotel are on the 5th floor - that is, up 11 flights of stairs (105 in total). Such a hotel needs a much better lift maintenance contract. We arrived hot having carried our bags up the stairs. The next problem was that contrary to the advertisement our rooms did not have air conditioning. Since Berlin was experiencing a 30-35'C heat wave, and since the rooms were under the flat roof of the hotel, this was a big problem as we could not sleep properly for our entire stay. The combination of having to climb the stairs twice a day, and having over heated rooms, resulted in us having a very uncomfortable stay; our holiday was ruined.

Staff very unfriendly, unsure if it was the language barrier or what. I fell and needed ice, they told me it was unavailable. What hotel/restaurant doesn't have ice? After that I didn't bother interacting with them. Observed how friendly they were to their native people.

Everything basic but it was cheap and what we expected. Beds comfy, clean towels and bathroom tidy. The only downside was that the room was red hot, windows wouldn’t open and WiFi was poor. But these were minor inconveniences

Excellent central location.

The staff were very friendly, the rooms are clean and fairly new. This is a bed and breakfast hotel which was what we were looking for. For the price we paid it was perfect, we would stay there again.

Nice friendly place to stay in cool part of Berlin

Our room appeared small compared to some German hotels, but given the price was excellent value for a European Capital. The hotel is very easy to get to from Ostbahnhof (rail station) and therefore from Shonefeld Airport. The hotel is in Mitte, East Berlin, which for me, is a more interesting area than West Berlin. There are loads of very economical eating places around, of varied cuisines; many of which are very veggie/vegan friendly. The part of the wall now covered in street art by the likes of Banksy, and the Wall Museum is about 20 minutes stroll away. The area is full of students and young people giving it a vibrant atmosphere, and while it may be a bit 'edgier' than the 'nicer' areas such as Charlottenberg, it feels safe and comfortable to walk around in (even for someone in their 50's like me).

Great Little Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will be back here I'm sure. The room is no frills but is clean and has everything you need. The location was excellent for us. We did not see too much of the staff , everyone kept themselves to themselves but each day when we went back to our room it was always cleaned and fresh towels etc. Everything you need is just a stones throw away. Bed was comfy and made every day. Everything you need if you are a budget traveller. We stayed on the top floor and after all the crazy nightlife around the blackout blinds were amazing for sleeping off the hangover :)

We booked the cheaper room so our shower was on a different floor. We was aware of this before we booked. Hotel room & shower room were very clean and toiletries provided plus a hairdryer. Our only problem was as the reception wasn't manned at night, once they left and locked up we wasn't able to get to the shower room till they came back in the morning. Other than that the hotel and the people on the reception are nice. Its in a good district, lots going on and only a short ride on the U Bahn to the centre.
