Come Inn Berlin Kurfürstendamm Opera3.0 out of 5.0

I've seen that this establishment is already well known so I only underscore that this is a fine 'home base' to discover the city. I know the city well enough but I assume especially for newcomers that this is a very good location. Of course the Kurfürstendamm is right smack in front of your nose (this is the upscale end), as are handy bus stops and a 3 minute walk to a U-Bahn station. Berlin Mitte and Wilmersdorf/Charlottenburg are quickly accessed too. The personelle are all friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean(we were able to get a room away from the street), and yes, the tv is a tube version and worked fine for us the all of 30 minutes it was on... ;-) Breakfast is super, would be nice if the dark and corny rolls were more present vs. white flour ones. Thumbs up!
Flew into Tegel, purchased a Berlin-Welcome card and got the 109 bus to this very nicely located hotel all within twenty minutes. Room was clean and tidied every day. Breakfasts were a delight on the top floor overlooking the Kudamm. Staff were polite, helpful and very patient. Thanks to Sven on reception who recommended a good Berliner restaurant for us one night we got fed up googling places to eat. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room but we saw this as a positive as there are so many places to get a hot drink right beside the hotel. You can still get coffee and tea in the foyer if you're that desperate. The location is well served with buses and the S+U bahn connections that you can get to most of Berlin's attractions within 40 minutes. We had a great time and would come back.
The hotel was very well placed in West Berlin and convenient in terms of public transport. The bus was pretty much outside and finding the hotel was relatively easy to find as it is a quick walk from the Adenauer platz tube station. It is a medium walk from the Kadeve which if you have not been is a must. The rooms were practical but mimuminist with two beds with uncomfortable bedding. A good hairdryer and provided an all in one shampoo and body wash in the shower. The safe provided in the room was an appreciated addition to our stay. On whole, the location was wonderful and the view from our hotel room was beautiful. You felt so connected to the city and a hundred percent safe. A very good hotel to get your sea legs in Berlin but the rooms could do with a little more care to detail of the visitors stay.
Had a very bad experience. I do not recommend this hotel due to careless management and customer service. The rooms have no coffee machine so I went at the reception to get one. When I arrived the guy at the front desk didn't respond to my salute. The coffee machine was ether off or wasn't working, when I asked for assistance the guy ignored me. When I insisted in asking for help the guy lifted his shoulders and brushed me off with a hand gesture. I then got closer to him and he started raising his voice on me. it was SURREAL. Someone that was working at the hotel that morning suggested me to go to management on the first floor. Unfortunately management wasn't there the whole time. Only the last day manager showed up but he only responded that this guy was going to finish his job by the end of the month and that was probably why he was careless and rude with guests. Manager didn't show any customer service skills or any sense of management skills or any discomfort on this matter, nor he offered to grant me a night or take any disciplinary measure toward the guy. I was obviously very disappointed. I will not return to this hotel. Windows were old and didn't isolate from outside noises.
Had a great time in Berlin and the Come Inn is a very clean, good hotel which represents very good value for money. The room we had was large, clean and comfortable and staff were very helpful. My only quibble (and it's something I should have looked at more closely) is it's location. Many reviews talk about the hotel's great location, and yes it is in a very nice area (on the street of all the top brands) but you are quite a distance from the centre of Berlin! To get to the centre you need to take the bus or use the underground all of which are highly efficient and plentiful but you need to factor this into your stay if you are considering a city centre break. It took about 20 minutes to get into the centre of town using the underground. The area around the hotel has excellent high end shopping opportunities and and a wide range of places to eat but you are not in the city centre. We had a great time and the hotel is more than fine it is very good indeed just be aware of its location. Thanks for a great stay.
I also thought the hotel looked like a hostel from outside. The rooms were clean. The breakfast on the top floor allows excellent views. Transport very accessible. Buses and taxis outside with the U-Bahn a few minute walk. Perfect. Staff very friendly except the one male member of staff. I think he has been mentioned before. Young and quite dismissive. I thought maybe it was because he didn't speak English. He did. I spoke to him in German. No difference. However, an excellent choice of hotel
On arrival at this hotel it didn't look too impressive but it was perfect. There were six of us which needed four rooms and all rooms are a good size and very clean. No complaints of the rooms at all. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but it looks to be a room with a view. The hotel is in a good location with a bus stop right outside the hotel (the M29 takes you into the centre and they do a group day pass for five passengers which for us was brilliant at 19.60 euros) and a taxi rank outside. It is not far to the underground station either. The transport system is cheap, clean, on time and excellent way to travel around Berlin. Only negative comments would be - we were unable to borrow an iron as they do not have one at this hotel. Also as mentioned in other reviews, there is one member of staff a young man who ignored people waiting at reception and made people wait until what seemed like he could be bothered to assist. Otherwise the staff were great.
Have stayed here before several times when it was called the Agon Opera hotel. I love the location on the K'dam, a stone's throw away from Adenauerplatz U-Bahn, U Uhlandstr., and within walking distance of Zoologischer garten station. First impressions of the hotel, sadly looks like a hostel from the outside, dirty windows, bad lighting, rubbish outside. However, inside is much nicer. On entering the clean, open reception area, we were greeted by 2 very charming ladies behind the desk. Unfortuantely the male receptionist was the complete opposite, rude, ignorant and extremely dismissive. He should take some hints from the very professional ladies. We were 2 mature couples, and on 2 occasions he ignored us for up to 5 mins while we stood at the desk. He then managed to acknowledge us with a toss of his head and not a word was spoken on both occasions. The rooms are lovely, big comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms, with toiletries and hairdryer. We didn't use the breakfast room this time but it has great views from the 6th floor.
Clean room, not cramped, excellent breakfast with a range of food. Coffee OK. Excellent views while eating breakfast. On bus route, short walk from sub way station. Lots of shopping nearby. Worst feature was the hand towel rail was so close to the toilet that no one wanted to use the towels.
our room was a family room and plenty big enough for us all, the breakfast was vey good lovely fresh bread. The staff where really, really helpful when our flight was cancelled and helped us to get through to travel agents
