Have stayed here before several times when it was called the Agon Opera hotel. I love the location on the K'dam, a stone's throw away from Adenauerplatz U-Bahn, U Uhlandstr., and within walking distance of Zoologischer garten station. First impressions of the hotel, sadly looks like a hostel from the outside, dirty windows, bad lighting, rubbish outside. However, inside is much nicer. On entering the clean, open reception area, we were greeted by 2 very charming ladies behind the desk. Unfortuantely the male receptionist was the complete opposite, rude, ignorant and extremely dismissive. He should take some hints from the very professional ladies. We were 2 mature couples, and on 2 occasions he ignored us for up to 5 mins while we stood at the desk. He then managed to acknowledge us with a toss of his head and not a word was spoken on both occasions. The rooms are lovely, big comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms, with toiletries and hairdryer. We didn't use the breakfast room this time but it has great views from the 6th floor.
Clean room, not cramped, excellent breakfast with a range of food. Coffee OK. Excellent views while eating breakfast. On bus route, short walk from sub way station. Lots of shopping nearby. Worst feature was the hand towel rail was so close to the toilet that no one wanted to use the towels.
our room was a family room and plenty big enough for us all, the breakfast was vey good lovely fresh bread. The staff where really, really helpful when our flight was cancelled and helped us to get through to travel agents
The hotel was cheap and cheerful,3 bed room basic and small but suited us fine lovely breakfast included in our price (not hot breakfast).fantastic location staff friendly and helpful. No bar in hotel.
Been there for 4 nights with my wife, very nice room, big enough for what we need, great view. It has no coffee or tea machine and no mini bar. The breakfast was very good, nothing missing. Good location, been there in 15' by train from the central station. The only negative thing was Matthias Brechter in the front desk (night shift), who seems to have fun from clients. If the first impression of the hotel you have is him, you ll feel disappointed. The women from day shift was very nice.
Our party comprised of 6 adults and a toddler, our sole purpose was to visit the Christmas markets. The hotel was very well located for public transport with the underground and bus terminals only a few metres away. Rooms clean, tidy and adequate for a short city break. The check in was friendly and speedy, within 20 minutes of arriving we were on the 109 bus to the palace market. The only criticisms I would have is there were no tea coffee facilities in the rooms and the beds only had one pillow. On the whole great hotel in a perfect location for seeing Berlin.
Stayed here with my elderly mum for a couple of days to see Berlin.. This hotel is in a great location and for transport links- (bus stops and taxi rank right outside the hotel). The exterior doesnt look very impressive ... and the reception area is quite dated but although quite basic it is comfortable with tables and armchairs and coffee machine ( 1euro cost). The reception staff were very nice and extremely helpful (they speak excellent English--much better than my very basic German) We had a room of the 5th floor with large windows ---it had fantastic views although the blackout curtains could do with replacing as they were stained with a couple of rips--not obvious unless you close them over. The bathroom was reasonable modern, a good size, clean with a good shower (and full bath) and well as plenty of towels and hairdryer. The beds (single beds) were very comfortable... but we would have preferred more than 1 pillow... although we didn't actually get around to asking for them ( so not really the hotels' fault) There was a small TV with 1 English news channel - which was fine for us as we were out most of the day anyway. The breakfast room on the 6th floor of the hotel is modern & very pleasant although small...it offers wonderful views and a decent selection of breakfast items... including breads/ rolls / biscuits, eggs, a selection of cold meats/ cheeses/ jams and spreads as well as cereals, yoghurts & various juices, teas and coffee. We arrived at various times throughout the breakfast service and it was always pretty busy. This hotel is in a great location, reasonable priced with very helpful staff- friendly and willing to answer our questions. We would definitely stay here again.
Pros. Clean rooms Perfect location. Above average breakfast Free WiFi Cons. No single beds Lack of cakes, croissants etc Slow internet. Overall a good choice taking into consideration the location and the price.
Me and my parents stayed for 3 nights . The room was comfortable and had a big window with a great view of the street. The location is great, next to the bus stops / metro station . Overall, great quality/price . definitely recommend it !
I stated for 1 week in april 2015. The location is great. You can catch the buses infront of the hotel. There is a subway in the same building and a very close Starbucks cafe. Most comfortable bed and pillows I ever used. Not noisy and friendly staff.
