We were a family of 3 who stayed, mom and daughters on a weekend trip to Berlin. It's a perfect affordable place if you're planning on spending money on good food and shopping instead! It's close to the U-train and is located on of Berlins most famous shopping streets. Our room was big with a huge window with a beautiful view of Kurfurstenstraße! The hotel has a basic, but good continental breakfast (including Nutella, +++). Housekeeping every day, so it's always clean. Great for a family weekend! Also great service and a big plus as they packed a big breakfast bag for each one of us since we were leaving early for departure...
The main advantage of the hotel is its location, in the most elevated shopping area. It would follow then that is very close to public transport stations, subway and bus lines and not least relatively small price to Berlin area in general and in particular. The building is old, the furniture just as staff speaks English very hard, should improvements in every sense. Room cleanliness was ok, linens and towels were changed. Breakfast was satisfactory, although quite varied, as the general could be much better. In conclusion, it can be a little better
This hotel was definitely value for money. When I booked I requested a ground floor room or at least a lift but my money was taken and at booking was informed we had a 5th floor room and the lift only goes up to 4th floor! We have a baby and pram/bags so weren't impressed. Anyway we got through it and the staff were helpful. The shower head was broken but we didn't bother to report. Breakfast was great but get there early as the breakfast room fills up. This hotel was very central for us which was great, only a few steps to UBahn. My only other criticism is that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but the staff said we could use the kitchen if we wanted. All in all I would recommend.
The hotel is extremely well located but needs a lot of work, both in decor and service. The check-in service was unprofessional, the staff did not speak English (not fluent in German either) and told us that we were too early for our check-in and had to leave our bags and come back later. We were then brought into a dining room (empty at that time) and had no choice but to leave our bags there unattended. Our room was at the attic and we couldn't even detect the free hotel WiFi. Breakfast was alright, but coffee was not free. The rooms were decent and clean, at least.
Situated on Main Street, where there are the top designer stores. Access gained through entrance hallway, sadly a bit grotty, and then up to the first floor where reception is. Our room 402 was pretty big with a spare single bed . It was clean and tidy and had no nasty smells. However the bathroom was tiny! It was accessed via a large step, and then there was a further 17" yes inch step into the shower cubicle. So, anyone with a mobility issue would really struggle to safely get in there, and then out. Compared to the rest of the bathroom it tiny and could do with upgrading and moving to the clothes area which was massive. Breakfast was limited to 3 types of bread roles, a small selection of German processed ham, 2 types of cheese, slices of tomatoes and if you timed it right some cucumber. In the warm selection, it was really fatty bacon a boiled egg or processed warm sausage.. There were a couple of cereals to choose from with an orange or an apple. There was a coffee machine where you could buy cappuccino etc for 2 euros or have ready made coffee from the urn. Positives, safe area, near underground or bus stop virtually outside with good 30 minute walk to main shops. Negative, needs upgrading, boring breakfast with limited selection, after 2 days I'd stick to bread and jam. Wifi is free but found it to be hit and miss, very slow and having to re log on at all times as. For some reason our devices could save the login details. If you want a budget place then stay here, but be prepared to travel as not exactly within walking distance to attractions.
The room has thin wall so you can hear easily other people talking. there was bunch of young guys laughing loudly, we inform the admin and they told us that rooms full and cannot change room, but due of luck those guys left next day
I am a frequent and very experienced traveller all over the world, never going to hotels under 3 stars. I've already been in many 3 and 4 star Berlin hotels, but this time it was my worst experience. The hotel is on Ku'damm, but near Adenauerplatz, which is quite long way to walk to Zoo, the real center of ex West Berlin. You have to buy the ticket for public transport, which is quite expensive in Berlin (about 27 euros for 72 hours ticket (in Vienna about 16 euros for the whole week). The hotel is not pleasant and I would give to it hardly 2 stars. The boring Single room was quite clean, but without safe, without mini bar or fridge and without tea/coffee facilities. No free coffee, water or fruits in the lobby, which is familiar in some good 3 star hotels. I had in my room no remote for TV. I asked for it, but I didn't get it. There is buffet breakfast, but nothing special. No, croissants, no fruit salad or fruits, except apples. And no croissants! On two mornings there were no scrambled eggs between 7 and 8 am. I am always coming for breakfast at 7 am to have fresh food. One day I asked for scrambled eggs and the woman said I could have boiled eggs. Many people in reception area (3 0r 4), even at 7 am, mostly women, who have very much to tell each other. Not very pleasant staff and above all - I had to pay the tourist tax extra - 5 % of my bill - even if I came with the voucher and everything seemed to be paid in advance. But they find the way to get as much money from you as they can. I haven't paid this tax in other hotels I visited in Berlin on my previous trips, and I paid them with same Galahotels.
Good Hotel and friendly people at reception and further questions. The hotel is clean and fairly new and the location is right in the center The bus and subway stops in the immediate vicinity and nearby are several restaurants where you can eat and there are two grocery stores in the area. A good breakfast for 14 euros is expanded.
We booked this place for 2 nights. It is located on the shopping street in Berlin selling many branded products. Also close to the city centre and many restaurants offering local and international food. U Bahn metro station is also close by including the bus stop for hop-on hop off bus tour. This hotel offers breakfast with reasonable spread of items. However, some of the reception staff can't speak in English well that made communication difficult. The wifi only works well at the reception area that in not convenient!
The worst hotel I've been. I've booked 1 triple and 1 double and the night receptionist changed the rooms without consulting us, inclusively changed the luggage without we are present. The wi-if didn't worked, and the breakfast room was too small. Too noisy due to all wood floor. Terrible!
