A hotel with a great location at Kurfürstendamm. Visiting Berlin as a family of four we all got a proper bed in a family room. Small, but everything very clean and silent. Friendly staff. Basic breakfast (you find everything but not so much variety).
I was a little worried in the beginning but the reality was above all expectations. Very friendly staff, huge variety of breakfast, Ku'damm right outside. Spacious rooms and nothing that I could mention negatively for a three start hotel. Thank you!
We have never expected that we(as family) are being arranged a big room!!!!in which it consists of a big balcony,,,,only because my mother dont allow me to go out to the balcony, so i cannot get out there(mum said because she dont want people to come inside it we forget to lock the door) The staff are nice actually. The first day we come in ,we first thought that they were cold.(later i found out that most German are like this, but when u become friends with them, they could be very nice)))))....then, we found some problems and ask the staff to deal with, surprisingly, they are very helpful, they are warm-hearted.... I definitely recommend this so-called hotel to u guys if u are travelling on a limited budget. additional note to the one who are going to visit this hotel-----Please be careful to treat the materials inside the building, it is a historical and pre-war buildings,, please take good cautious on it.It try to damage...be careful to protect historical building.
The most positive thing to say about the hotel was the price - nothing else is worth mentioning. There was a lot of noise, and you could hear what was going on in the room next door. We asked for wifi, and the receptionist said: no wifi on Sundays. I do hope he was kidding - it is 2017!! There was breakfast, nothing more to say about that.
I booked this hotel because it takes part in a hotel programme from frequent flyer scheme Miles & More from Lufthansa. You expect some decent service, despite being relatively cheap. This hotel was unacceptable. The room is 5th floor under the roof, elevator is to 4th floor only and you go an endless corridor and a tiny staircase up. The room is small and need some urgent refurbishment, carpet old, everything old. The TV set is at least 15 years old, but it does not make a difference, as it has no channels and the remote control also did not work. The telephone to reception is disconnected, and then i called reception via mobile phone and nobody attends the phone. I went back to reception to complain, but nothing could be done, no other room available and nobody looking after the TV. The free wifi does hardly work, so I wanted to see football and streamed it via my mobile phone. The room is cold, the blinds do not work so at 6:00 its bright and you can hear all the neighbours in the other rooms. Light bulbs need to be changed. Nothing works here, old and scrubby... receptionist also did not speak much German.
We were a family of 3 who stayed, mom and daughters on a weekend trip to Berlin. It's a perfect affordable place if you're planning on spending money on good food and shopping instead! It's close to the U-train and is located on of Berlins most famous shopping streets. Our room was big with a huge window with a beautiful view of Kurfurstenstraße! The hotel has a basic, but good continental breakfast (including Nutella, +++). Housekeeping every day, so it's always clean. Great for a family weekend! Also great service and a big plus as they packed a big breakfast bag for each one of us since we were leaving early for departure...
The main advantage of the hotel is its location, in the most elevated shopping area. It would follow then that is very close to public transport stations, subway and bus lines and not least relatively small price to Berlin area in general and in particular. The building is old, the furniture just as staff speaks English very hard, should improvements in every sense. Room cleanliness was ok, linens and towels were changed. Breakfast was satisfactory, although quite varied, as the general could be much better. In conclusion, it can be a little better
This hotel was definitely value for money. When I booked I requested a ground floor room or at least a lift but my money was taken and at booking was informed we had a 5th floor room and the lift only goes up to 4th floor! We have a baby and pram/bags so weren't impressed. Anyway we got through it and the staff were helpful. The shower head was broken but we didn't bother to report. Breakfast was great but get there early as the breakfast room fills up. This hotel was very central for us which was great, only a few steps to UBahn. My only other criticism is that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but the staff said we could use the kitchen if we wanted. All in all I would recommend.
The hotel is extremely well located but needs a lot of work, both in decor and service. The check-in service was unprofessional, the staff did not speak English (not fluent in German either) and told us that we were too early for our check-in and had to leave our bags and come back later. We were then brought into a dining room (empty at that time) and had no choice but to leave our bags there unattended. Our room was at the attic and we couldn't even detect the free hotel WiFi. Breakfast was alright, but coffee was not free. The rooms were decent and clean, at least.
Situated on Main Street, where there are the top designer stores. Access gained through entrance hallway, sadly a bit grotty, and then up to the first floor where reception is. Our room 402 was pretty big with a spare single bed . It was clean and tidy and had no nasty smells. However the bathroom was tiny! It was accessed via a large step, and then there was a further 17" yes inch step into the shower cubicle. So, anyone with a mobility issue would really struggle to safely get in there, and then out. Compared to the rest of the bathroom it tiny and could do with upgrading and moving to the clothes area which was massive. Breakfast was limited to 3 types of bread roles, a small selection of German processed ham, 2 types of cheese, slices of tomatoes and if you timed it right some cucumber. In the warm selection, it was really fatty bacon a boiled egg or processed warm sausage.. There were a couple of cereals to choose from with an orange or an apple. There was a coffee machine where you could buy cappuccino etc for 2 euros or have ready made coffee from the urn. Positives, safe area, near underground or bus stop virtually outside with good 30 minute walk to main shops. Negative, needs upgrading, boring breakfast with limited selection, after 2 days I'd stick to bread and jam. Wifi is free but found it to be hit and miss, very slow and having to re log on at all times as. For some reason our devices could save the login details. If you want a budget place then stay here, but be prepared to travel as not exactly within walking distance to attractions.
