After sleepless nights in Hamburg and Copenhagen this was an oasis of peace. We were driving and found it difficult to find the entrance as it wasn't marked from the road, but a receptionist very kindly talked us in over the phone. Staff were friendly and polite and spoken excellent English. Our room was a good size, as was the bathroom. Everything was clean and linen was good quality and nice and fresh. We didn't have a river view, but paid a very good price so weren't bothered. It was beautifully quiet and we slept well. Our room was also in the other wing of the hotel which was little way from reception, but was easily accessible from the underground car park with suitcases and a reassuringly secure place to leave our car during our stay. Staff in the attached bar/restaurant were friendly and got our English sense of humour. It's lovely to sit and have a drink alongside the river and the weather was glorious during our stay so we took advantage. Breakfast was excellent quality and quantity and although we had booked room only we too the breakfast as we didn't then need lunch as it was so generous. There are train stops nearby and we found one or two restaurants nearby to eat in the evening. We would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel on business a few years ago. This time I was back as a tourist with my wife. It was a really nice stay. The hotel sits on the north bank of the River Spree. In the summer, this means river boats passing regularly. You can sit outside and enjoy a beer watching the world go by. It's a lovely, leafy location. Transport is easy. Bellevue S-Bahn station is just a couple of hundred metres away. As is Turmstrasse U-Bahn. The rooms are nice. A little dated perhaps but very clean and well maintained. The coffee in the room is a Nespresso-style coffee machine which was absolutely marvellous and made a special change from packets of instant coffee. Breakfast at this hotel is mighty. Lots of fresh food to choose from. Service is attentive and prompt. When I go back to Berlin, I'll stay here. It's just a nice, quiet place to stay with access to everything you need.
I stayed there with my colleagues during a business trip. it was nice , neat and clean with good breakfast and nice warm staff. the only problem was the view of my room's window which was the opposite building , in between there was a narrow alley , so while staying in the room I had the feeling that I'm in a prison! but everything else was totally fine.
We stayed here with our small baby for 3 nights, and we loved it. The hotel is great, takes good care of families with young children (baby bed was ready, baby seats in restaurant, etc.) and is located in a very nice and quiet area. A walk to the Reichstag will take you approx. 20 minutes, and takes you through the lovely park there. We'll surely return to this hotel when visiting Berlin again.
Stayed in this Hotel on May 2017(2nd stop of my husband Europe birthday trip).Location was very nice since it is by the river bank, a nice place to eat breakfast in the patio outside with a nice brisk of wind in your hair in a cool morning before we start the "tourist" part of the trip. The neighborhood felt a bit homey for us since it was around a residential area, mostly villa's. We loved the organic market called Biomarket, literally walking steps to the hotel. We got a fancy wine and yummy deserts and refreshments from there. The hotel restaurant was delicious too but we usually come home late at night from the city. Our room was good, enough space for the both of us to twirl or dance. There was a mini living room, a fridge and a television that only has German channels. CNN was the only english channel we had. Everything was up to date as far as the amenities have but since I am a neat freak when it comes to our cloths so it was minus for me not to see iron around, guest have to request it at the front desk and go to 6th floor to there "iron office" to do it there. Not a big deal, I was able to make it work. Loved their sauna and the massage that you can request after a long day of walking. Downside was the sheets, it was so dusty that I had to take my allergy pill since I was having a reaction to it. I have allergy to dust and yes it is a really thing! I felt like they haven't changed it for a couple of weeks or haven't had prepared for a new guest. I had to borrow my husband pajamas. We didn't get the chance to ride the subways, train or bus to go to the city, we used uber a lot and to give you a rough estimate for our commute, to go to the Berlin Gate was about 8-10 euros, we went on their holiday too so a lot of bus was re-routed, so we did not want to get hustle. All in all I could say that our stay was good, comfortable. My only issues was the sheets, just for them to make sure next time that is clean or not dusty for the next guest :)
It has a good location within about 5 minutes walking distance of the S bahn. The setting is beautiful on the bank of the river. However the facilities aren't great. The rooms are basic and the decor is a bit dated. I was very disappointed by the gym. It was like a sauna with very few machines. The layout isn't great either with the sauna, gym etc not being placed in obvious locations. And there is construction ongoing beside the hotel. Plus we were woken every morning by staff despite putting up do not disturb signs. If you go definitely request a room facing the river. There would be fantastic views!
Room was average, but not very clean - spots all over the carpets - we had to move our bedside table to create one bed - and found walls very badly marked up. Same on carpets in the hall ways - whole hotel needs a VERY good and thorough cleaning. Breakfast was very good - good quality food, good choices.
I had booked a double room with river view on an upper floor. I got a double room with only partial river view (and the other part smack on one of the hotel buildings) on the 2d floor. Quite disappointing but we kept the room, which was on a corner and more spacious than regular rooms, which look like small boxes. The location is nice, peaceful and silent and not far at all from busier areas. We rented bikes (EUR 20 for the day at the hotel, EUR 12 if you rent directly from a bike shop) and everyday crossed the Tiergarten, which is right across the river) to get to the centre, lovely. The room decoration is quite plain and the carpet had a big humidity stain. Biggest problem is with service. Reception staff ranges from condescending (like they don't greet you, they don't smile, and it feels like every question you're asking is a terrible unsustainable bore) to (barely) courteous and some have limited command of English. Every day something was missing in the room - we were two but had only one bath robe, or mugs were left uncleaned, or tea wasn't restocked. Pictures on their website show a warm and glamorous lobby, which it isn't at all - small and not particularly friendly. Altogether, the hotel is below the standards that one would expect from a 4 star hotel.
We had a 3 night stay with our 19 month old daughter recently. The room was in the west wing and facing onto the street which was very quiet. It was spacious and a cot was provided for her as we had requested. The rooms are not overly modern in design but were clean and spacious, windows can be opened too if needed. We were extremely impressed with the hotel breakfast: an amazing spread available with everything from bircher musli and cereals, to breads, salmon, cheeses, meats, salad, fruit, croissants, cake & much more - very happy with it! We didn't try the restaurant in the hotel. The only negative point was having to drop the hotel key when you go out - on returning to the hotel we experienced a queue (of strange customers with long stories and complicated issues) to get the key back every night to be able to get back to our room: not ideal with a young tired toddler.
The hotel is located near S-lines station Bellevue. Trains go straight to the zoo, shopping streets and Alexanderplaz. The rooms were spacius enough and had a fridge. We had room on 6th floor with the view over Spree river, which was really nice. The bed was really soft. Cleaners were knocking on door quite early just over eight. We did not try the hotel breakfast because the price for family was too high, 19 euros/person. A 100 away is a very good Italian restaurant Casa Matti which we highly recommend.
