Ameron Boutique Hotel Villa Abion Berlin4.0 out of 5.0

We stayed here for 3 nights and were very impressed. As there were 3 of us, we had a split level room with my sister having her own upstairs bedroom complete with spiral staircase. The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The hotel is in between a metro stop and a bus stop, a short walk to each. The area the hotel was situated was also very quiet and pretty, despite how central it is. The hotel was the highlight - absolutely lovely food and plenty of it, it was a great start to our days. The only drawback was the restaurant for dinner is a bit high brown and they were a little mean with their wine portion. Overall, great hotel and I would stay here again
Situated on The River Spree, The Abion Hotel in Berlin is in the perfect location for tourists. A large hotel that has 2 towers and an addition villa building which is facing the river. The rooms are quite spacious, our with two single beds, but other configurations are available. It is rated 4 star and is true to its rating. The hotel is centrally heated and is perfect for the cold weather outside. The bathroom is seperate and some rooms have a shower while others have a bath & shower. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk to the Brandenburg Gate, historical site and city centre. The Mall of Berlin (200+ shopping mall) is a further 10 minute walk. Got those who don’t want to walk, the is a train station within a 5 minute walk. Trains run every 3-4 minutes minutes, are easy to navigate and get you into the city centre with 10 minutes or to the Berlin Wall within 15 minutes. The breakfast is definitely worth the few extra dollars. There is everything you could ever ask for - tea, coffee, fresh juice, full cooked breakfast, fruit, cereal, cold meats... the list is endless. A special mention to Booloomaa ( from Burma) who worked in the breakfast room. She was super friendly, noting was too much trouble and answered any of our queries about Berlin with ease. All staff were very accommodating, friendly and very professional. Small negatives: No tea or coffee facilities in rooms No iron / iron board Beds were only a little above average and the double bed consisted of two single beds pushed together but moved every time you turned over No English TV stations other than 3 news stations Book in advance and prices are very reasonable.
From the pictures, the hotel looks amazing, but in reality, it's not. They've gone to great lengths to make the facade pretty; the lobby and restaurant - but the rest of the hotel is very basic and has seen better days. The restaurant was EXTREMELY expensive. Location is OK. There is nothing around really. And it's a 7-ish minute walk to the train/bus. Not really ideal in the freezing Christmas weather! I'd maybe recommend this hotel in summer, so you can enjoy the position on the river, but in winter - definitely not! The bed (two singles pushed together) was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in - soft to the point you can bounce/roll off it! And the pillows were floppy and flat. The bathroom was as clean as an old bathroom can be. No shampoo and conditioner!!! Just this wall-mounted bottle with body wash/shampoo combo - not a hotel for the ladies! No coffee/tea making facilities. The best part... no lift in the lobby. You have to go downstairs to the lift, to go upstairs. Really!?
We booked a suite and it was a very good decision. We had a room on 2 floors: 2 single beds downstairs & a sofa bed upstairs. The sofa bed was very comfortable. We had an espresso machine in our room. Bathrooms are quite spacious, with the shower having very good water pressure. The hotel was very close to the river, and close to 2 metro stations (we used Bellevue mostly which is 1 stop from the main train station). Right next to the hotel, there is a bio supermarket which stocks everything and does snacks and sandwiches even for breakfast, and next door, a lovely pub that serves divine food. All in all i was very satisfied :-)
I visited this hotel with my two sisters. We booked a three-person room but it was just a normal twin with a camp bed shoved in the corner. There was only 2 glasses, 2 mugs (when we finally got some)...nothing for the extra person. When we arrived we got into the room and there was no tea/coffee facilities. I asked at reception and by the evening they had put them in our room (2 mugs, 2 teas, 2 coffees...for a 3-person room). We drank the coffees (which were terrible), and it’s a good job we didn’t like it because it didn’t get replenished once throughout our stay. In fact, the housekeeping was almost non-existent - they just made the beds - mugs, wine glass and other glasses weren’t cleaned or replaced throughout our stay, they remained dirty. The room was tired - carpet a bit scruffy and curtains that were falling off and difficult to close. The shower was also rubbish, the best we could get out of the temperature was lukewarm and the third person had a full-on cold shower! There was no amenities in the room other than soap. Although room-service was available, there was no menus in the room. On a positive note, the hotel bar was nice with good wine and good service and a lovely view of the river. Location wise, it’s close to a tube station. I have to stay, I would never stay here again and I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
Spent 2 nights here for work. Meant to be a double room but was 2 singles pushed together which is the worst of all worlds. We had buffet style food which was mediocre at best, but to be fair that’s German food in general in my opinion.
I was apprehensive after seeing the earlier review about it being difficult to find with construction works and took long hard looks at google map etc. However, most of the construction work is gone and it was quite easy to find after I looked at google maps etc. Rooms were clean and I have no complaints. I stayed there for 4 nights for a workshop. Hotel reception staff were great and getting them to call a cab for me was no problem at all. It is a quiet location but overall..i would say ok.
Stayed here during Berlin Marathon. Our room was large enough and clean. The front office staff was very professional and accommodating. Requested the room for few more hours since I wanted to shower after the marathon. They kindly obliged. there is construction going on around the hotel and getting into the reception with your baggage is a challenge. Hopefully this is temporary. It would have been nice for them to acknowledge the inconvenience.... but overall, I was very happy.
Avoid this hotel! Whoever gave it a star must have looked at wrong hotel. Construction site around hotel - even cab driver got it wrong. Steps - no ramp - not handicapped accessible. First impression not good - hall carpet was filthy. Room something out of post-war. Dirty! Filthy furnishings. Bathroom filthy. What a dump! They should have paid us to stay there. Manager changed us to a 'luxury' room called Luxury Maritime. It was not! Barely acceptable. He was very apologetic - cannot fault him or staff. Breakfast fine. Supposed to stay 6 nights - left next day to stay at Riu Plaza. Now this is a great hote! Hotel is supposed to be undergoing renovation - was a former dairy. They need to close it down, renovate and upgrade. Maybe then they could call themselves a hotel. Stay away. At 144Euro a night, it was just a big rip-off.
When I arrived, the area was in construction, so I walked around the whole building with my luggage trying to find the entrance, then I finally found one. The guy from the reception was helpful, I reserved a double room with two beds, breakfast included, but as I arrived alone, I explained the situation and they didn't charged the extra breakfast, so that was good, and changed my room, but I'm not sure if they gave me a single bed double room or a single room, because the bed seemed small for a double room and there were towels, glasses, soap, etc. just for one person, so that made me suspect even more, and when I went to ask to the reception the next morning, they didn't answer my question, and well, at the end I paid for a double room. The room was very clean, and the bed comfortable, the view was awful, I just saw the front building, and just a bit of the Spree. At first impression it looks old, but it is well maintained so I don't have a problem with that. I mean, the decoration may look old, but the bed, TV (which I didn't use) the bathroom, etc. is new. It was funny that in the door there's a warning to close well the door and lock it, to be sure to avoid robbery. I said funny because the hotel looked and felt safe, as well as the area. They have good WiFi connection and you can leave your key in the reception so you don't have to carry it all day. The breakfast was abundant and delicious, it had different options, not many but enough to choose, and everything was fresh and delicious (I know I already wrote it), you can even make your own orange juice which for me was awesome and perfect, I appreciate a lot that. The area was good for me, very quiet and calmed. You can get to the Berlin Victory Column by walk crossing a nice park. Also the hotel is like 2 or 3 metro stations away from the city center (depending what you consider city center hehe) and the metro station (which is Bellevue) is like 5 min away by walk too. And there are some good restaurants near the hotel, specially the Paulaner im Spreebogen which is in the same building, like 100 mts or less away from the hotel entrance. (And I know is Bavarian, but for me it is better than the food from Berlin, it can be very similar, but I didn't found anything special in Berlin dishes). I put 3 stars because it's a 4 star hotel and it don't have tube. Also because the roads are under construction and I had to walk around the whole building to find an entrance (I know it's not your fault, but you can show where the entrance is. [and I was very tired, stressed and starving because I had a very long trip to get there, train from Amsterdam to Köln and a flight from Köln to Berlin. I also know it's not your fault but I never imagined that I had to surround the building to finally find an entrance and get in. Then once in, I saw the other entrance...]). The awful view, and the unanswered doubt about the single or double room. Without my personal issues of the entrance and the single/double room it's a 4 star review.
