This hotel gives more than I expected. It has a car park and we'll be there again. Price ratio great and good access to the center. Good outdoor activities and green nature surround this hotel. For myself this level hotel is good enough
Good hotel, close to S-bahn station which is very important in Berlin. Only 20-25 minutes to city centre by train. Really clean!! The only remarkable thing is that WiFi is available buying a voucher. I dislike it!!
last week I was in the hotel for the fruit logistica event the Hotel is Old the rooms are big there is no mini bar no coffe or tee in the room the toilets and bath are old the breakfast is very good wifi was weak
This is a lovely hotel with spacious rooms, a tv, hot shower, and we had an amazing 11th story balcony. While affordable, the downside of this hotel is the location. It is a long commute into the heart of Berlin, especially because the S train is continually undergoing construction. We had several very frustrating commutes. Next time, I would spend the extra money to stay in a more central location
The hotel is nothing special, but the staff are very helpful! It's cheap, and trys to be cheerful. The rooms are very basic, beds, tv and wi-fi extra. It has a shower over the bath, and I had hot water whenever I needed it (some people complained about the lack of hot water in the morning) I only had breakfast once, it was expensive for what it was. If you book it the previous day it's cheaper than on the day. As most German hotels, this has no kettle I take my own ( need a coffee first thing) I enjoyed my stay here, as it was only a place to sleep. I found a couple of pubs not too far away, on the way to the s bahn amongst the flats. The people in the pub were very friendly, practicing their english on you. There is also a shop there, which I got my bread rolls from every morning for breakfast. I have stayed at this hotel several times, and will stay here again!
I chose Alecsa because of the location, near the Berlin Olympic stadium, and because of the price. So I didn't have high expectations. The hotel is located in an old apartment building and the rooms used to be apartments. It took about 20 minutes by foot to the Olympic stadium. The furnishings of the room was quite simple but the room was clean. They served a breakfast, it was ok. The wifi was very poor.
I recently stayed at this hotel as part of a solo trip to take in a Hertha Berlin match and to see the main tourist attractions. The hotel was easy enough to find from the train station as it was only a short walk away - 5 or 10 minutes through some pleasant suburban streets. On arrival the staff couldn't have been anymore helpful and welcoming. My room was situated on the 11th floor and it was spotlessly clean and extremely spacious. There was also a large balcony which would have been ideal in the better weather. Fresh towels were provided each day and there were plenty of toiletries provided as well. The beds were extremely comfortable, and again, they were changed each day. Overall I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience staying here. I have to commend all the staff in particular as they made a point of greeting me each time i passed the reception and they couldn't help me enough. Their English was also excellent which was particularly helpful to me as someone who doesn't speak any German. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a cheap, handy base to see Berlin. It might seem a bit out of the way, but it is only 25 mins away from Central Berlin by train (one stop away from the Olympiastadion) and is excellent value for money.
The hotel is well placed for the S-Bahn (only a 5 minute stroll away) which provides a direct link into the city or into Berlin-Spandau for both the sights and shopping. You will need an AB ticket to travel to and from the city to here but only a Kurzstrecken-Ticket for Spandau. The rooms are basic but clean and the beds very comfortable. However, our particular room could have done with another light (desk lamp or floor lamp) as the main room was quite dark. So any reading would have been out of the question! The room could also benefit from shutters. Curtains are at the windows but in the summer I can imagine the room to be too light once the sun comes up! The bathroom, although small, was functional with everything there - soap, shower gel, shampoo, tissues, hairdryer and soft fluffy towels. In our room (801) we had no telephone and if you wanted WiFi there was a daily charge of 2 Euros. We declined as we feel this should be included in the price of the room! However, there is a computer in reception with internet access so emails etc. can be checked there. We chose not to have breakfast in the hotel as we found the price to be high (12 Euros per person in the morning or 9 Euros per person if you book the night before), and we were there for 6 nights. As I only eat maximum one roll, the cost did not justify this expenditure. There is a small café (Cafe Salon Cosima) a 3 minute stroll from the hotel in the Belvedere passage which is across the road in the apartment complex. There we had a very good breakfast for under 10 Euros for the both of us! A significant saving against the hotel price. The rooms are also very quiet. We experienced no or very little noise from neighbouring rooms. The staff in reception were very welcoming and helpful. This was our second visit to this hotel and we would definitely come again. We would recommend this hotel.
The rooms are very basic & generally old & in need of some TLC. It was cold during our stay so the old cast iron radiators were welcome, but not sure how useful these would be to counter the single glazed windows in the depth of winter. Toilet cistern was broken but we managed to cobble it back together to use for a couple of days. Breakfast was pretty good for the cost with plenty of coffee always available. Location is good for the stadium, commonwealth graves & a short walk to the s-bahn. 5 minute walk to several bars/cafes within a residential block & also a small supermarket that stocks everything you could need.
You get what you pay for! I have stayed here several times, with friends! Its a great little place, for a cheap stay in Berlin! It's a 10 minute walk for the S Bahn (steps) or a few minutes longer for the lift! It's nice and quiet, even with the window open overnight! No kettle (typical of German hotels) and wifi, at 2 Euros per 24 hours. The breakfast was ok, but a little expensive (a 3 Euro saving if you book the night before) I always found the water, in the bathroom was hot, but have read others didn't. There is sometimes a pong in the bathroom, from the drains (honest, lol) There are a couple of nice pubs in the area, and they try and make you feel welcome (even trying out their English!) A handy little shop, just by the pub, get your spirits here to take home! A few restaurants round the area, just ask at the front desk
