Air in Berlin Hotel3.0 out of 5.0

I am going to get the bad out of the way first: temperature adjustment (September), in the room, needs to be more than opening and closing the windows. Now for the good: I will begin by saying that I would gladly stay here again. The location is close to the the bus that will take you to the Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate and the Wittenberg U-Bahn station. Only slightly further is the Zoologischer Garten train center complete with bus terminals and an U-Bahn. On foot you are close to the KuDamm, the Zoo, many restaurants, and some landmarks. Breakfast in the hotel is limited and adequate, I never left hungry. The buffet is continually replenished during the hours of breakfast and the coffee is plentiful. If you stay a few days, you might consider a small gratuity to the woman who ensures you have everything you need to start the day. The singles here are small, no doubt about it, but what do expect for the price? Some of the doubles are quite large, others, less so. Talk to the front desk if you are not happy and give them a chance to work things out for you. In general, when traveling in Europe, it is best to remember that you are in different countries with different customs, different manners, different expectations, different cultures. Staying at smaller, non-chain hotels like this one can be fun and challenging, and, to my way of thinking, one of the reasons to travel. Do not expect big smiles and greetings like you might get in the US, Germans are not quite as expressive. This does not make them rude. I found all personnel at Air in Berlin Hotel to be very helpful, kind and accommodating. Stay here, you will not regret it.
This hotel felt very tired, both the fabric of the building, and the attitude of the staff. It's in a very good location, a sort walk from the UBahn and Kurfurstendamm, but it's overpriced in terms of its service. The room was shabby, the plumbing not great, and the staff off-hand. It was not a great welcome to Berlin. Our room was at the back and a group of Russians seem to be partying outside until late everynight.
We, 47 Ladies from Lisburn Harmony Ladies Choir, stayed at the hotel from 20th to 23rd of April 2017. It was probably not easy to satisfy everyone's expectations but the staff at the hotel worked tirelessly to meet every wish and to make everyone comfortable. The rooms were clean and quiet, the breakfast was plentiful and satisfying and the staff friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel's location can not be beaten either for the price. Close to Wittenbergplatz Subwaystation and to Zoologischer Garten Trainstation with its Train-and Bus Connections it was an ideal location for first time visitors to Berlin. The ladies also loved the close proximity to shopping mile Kurfürstendamm with the famous KaDeWe Department Store. All in all this Hotel provided the perfect base for our Choir Tour to Berlin and we would definitely stay there again on our next Trip to Berlin!
Spent 3 nights with a large group of ladies in this hotel. The location could not be better for getting to public transport or sight seeing on foot. I found the room clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good with a decent amount of choice. I would return to this hotel.
As the title says... an "honest" place. Prices are very goos, especially if you consider the hotel's location, right in the middle of West Berlin. A minute from a metro station, a few minutes on foot from the shopping district (KaDeWe, KU'Damm) and the Zoo. Small but extremely clear rooms, nice and friendly staff.
This hotel has a great location, close to the shopping area of Tauentzienstrasse with the KadeWe just at the corner of the street. The U station Wittenbergplatz is less than a 5 minute walk. The room we had at the back on the first floor was spacious for its price and the bathroom provided all we needed. Actually, more space to put your toiletries than we ever had in any hotel! The breakfast buffet was okay, but you can have a better breakfast around the corner at the bakery on Kurfürstenstrasse with espresso coffee and fresh orange juice. On either side of the hotel you have Asian restaurants, one Thai, the other Vietnamese. And across you have a reasonable Italian restaurant. What else do you need? Definitely recommended!
Great large room with comfortable beds. Very quiet street despite being so close to all amenities. Helpful staff on reception. This is our 4th stay at this hotel and will definitely stay again next time.
This hotel is right in the centre of the city. Only two minutes walk from wittenbergplatz u-bhan station. Some really good bars and restaurants very close bye. The hotel breakfast is also very good, but the rooms are not flash. The walls are very thin so it can be a bit noisy.
I've spent 6 days here already and am quite satisfied with it. No bad points at all. Its good points are an excellent central-to-everything location; excellent breakfast and courteous staff. I'm leaving for Belgium to but I look forward to coming back here in 5 more days time.
We stayed on a Friday evening and consecutive Monday. Situated a few minutes walk from the U-bahn U2 means it is easy to commute to Potsdamer Pl or the main Hautebanhof Berlin station. The location was ideal to get about and we would certainly pick this area as a base again. Hotel is nice & warm. We didn't go for a superior room but it was quite adequate-do check if you need a hairdryer though. Breakfast was buffet style with reasonable choice and at €9 we could eat however much we needed. Staff were very helpful and on both occasions we were able to check in early as well leaving our luggage. Good offer of "coffee to go" when we left for the day. Overall - we will return.
