I had to a change my plan as a meeting locatio was rescheduled. Luckily I found this hotel with a reasonable rate at the last minute. It is a great little find. Great location almost righr next to Ubahn but room was very quite. Nice surrounding streets witg lots of nice restaurant. I will come back here next time.
We had a very good stay in the hotel - close to everything, well-connected to the airport and city center. We mostly walked everywhere. Lots of cafes and restaurants in the area. Room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff was kind and helpful. Room design was not really my cup of tea, but it is a question of taste.
The hotel is good, services is average. Based on the cost it’s worth it and it’s in a safe area. Rooms are clean and spacious, the view is to the city and it’s good too. Tram stop across the street and several bars a within a two block radius
We booked this Hotel for the location, and it was a very good choice we could move easily from the Hotel to many places in Berlin. What i think was not good was the breakfast service. We could go to Brandenburg Gate walking. Therefore for location, and price a good choice
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights, during our wedding anniversary. And we were more than pleased with our choice! Arcotel Velvet is a really good value for money option : excellent location, easy access to transportation (tram station right in front of the hotel, U station across the corner) and also walking distance to the major landmarks in Berlin. We booked for a superior room, wanted the great view, and oh we were so happy with our decision! Indeed, as read in the reviews, the building next door was in heavy renovation process, but there was no construction noise early in the morning. We were expecting to hear some noise, but we were pleased with the quiet days. The only minus/comment regarding the hotel is the quality of the pillows. They are so lumpy and unpleasant. Very poor quality. Despite the high quality of room furniture, bed and bathroom; he pillows were terrible. And this is such an easy thing to fix and for sure will increase the customers satisfaction.
A lovely hotel right near the centre of Berlin. Booked this for 3 nights for me and my partner, we had a great time in Berlin and it was lovely to come back in the evening to a clean and comfortable hotel room to relax in. The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful with any queries or problems we had. 100% would stay here again, was a delightful experience.
I wish there were a button between "fair" and "very good." It is a good hotel for a modest price, and the rooms are comfortable (but with a kinda weird bathroom setup - see photos on their website). The bed is comfortable, and the room is clean - with a small refrigerator that is stocked with items for purchase, but you can add some items from a grocery if they are not too big. There is also a safe that will hold most items. The staff is very friendly, and all have a very good command of English. The breakfast is tradition with cheeses, cold cuts, cereal, juices, coffee and tea, and hard boiled eggs I would suggest the Berlin Theke which is practically next door for breakfast - I had pancakes and tea for 10.30 euros one day and three eggs, toast, and tea for 9.60 euros another day. Location is the strong suit of the hotel. The U Bahn is right around the corner and can get you anywhere you want to go. Many places are in walking distance, including Museum Island, the Fernsehturm, and the New Synagogue. I also walked to the Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate as well. I highly recommend the BVG app for your phone - it allows you to input your starting U Bahn station and then your destination - it in turn tells you exactly the train (U Bahn or S Bahn) to take, where to change, and how long bit will, take. It also shows intermediate stops if you want. I usually did this the night before I left for my sights of the day. Many good restaurants are also on Oranienburg Street - right across the street.
the rooms were very nice , not the largest that I have stayed in but also not the smallest. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The location was also close to a subway stop which made travel easy. The thing that we really liked was the breakfast spread they served. The staff was also very helpful giving advice as how to use the subway system to get to various places
The best thing about the Arcotel Velvet is its location. Being almost on the corner Oranienburger Strasse and Friedrichstrasse it is within walking distance of most of the city centre sites such as the Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag, Spree boat trips etc. It's also a stone's throw from the excellent Berlin Wall Memorial. Oranienburger Strasse itself is a hive of activity and the nearby streets are full of restaurants, cafes and galleries. In short, I can't imagine there are many better situated hotels in Berlin. The hotel itself is clean, modern and efficient. The staff speak good English and are very helpful. My room was at the back of the hotel which meant that the view over a back alley was pretty grim, but the upside of that was that for a city centre hotel it was extremely quiet. Beds were very comfortable, too. Breakfast was extra at 10EU and was a perfectly decent German buffet with mueslis, excellent bread and croissants plus a selection of cheese, ham and fruit. Coffee was either filter or Nespresso and with as much to eat and drink as you wanted was good value. There are masses of local cafes and bakeries if you fancy a change. All in all, a great find.
Clean and modern room with a European "double" bed (two twins together to make a king). Sink/shower area was behind a curtain, not in separate room. The location was great, only two minutes from a metro station and LOTS of restaurants around. Continental breakfast was decent. Would stay there again for sure!
