Not far from the shops, some Christmas markets and the historical area of Berlin. Most of the things we wanted to see were within a reasonable walk from the hotel. There is a new station being built within a short walk also, so this should make it even better in the future. The room and service were good and clean. On our departure we mentioned that that the minibar was not working (room 605) so we would expect that will have been fixed promptly. A good breakfast with plenty of choice.
We stayed here over New Years and the hotel is literally in the centre of everything. It's just a 10 minute walk from Alexanderplatz and the main train station and shopping district with loads of bars and restaurants too. Then it's a 10 minute walk in the other direction to the Brandenburg Gate and all the historic side to Berlin. The hotel itself was very clean throughout and the staff are all really friendly and speak very good English. The actual room was small-ish but it's what can be expected for such a city centre hotel. The only thing which let it down is the severe lack of storage space for clothes and the room was slightly run down - the headboard was pulled apart and the walls had marks on them. Only minor issues.
This hotel is wonderful. Great location, wonderfully decorated and friendly staff. It's clean and the size of the room is super. Good value for money. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the train station, and many other sites a close as well. Highly recommendable
Extremely poor end to a distinctly average stay. I was over charge by EUR 64.40 because of a mix up with the invoices, this was after I had settled the bill with reception. Hotel agreed to reimburse me the money and claimed this had been done. It is clear that the money was either not paid or paid to the wrong account - I have yet to receive the money back. After querying this point with the hotel I got a reply "I must check this with my bank'. Hotel is longer answering my emails, a pathetic response to two ameture mistakes and I am still out of pocked to the tune of about £57. Won't stay again or recommend to anyone.
Have just got back from 4 lovely nights in this hotel. We loved it! Check in was easy, but could have been a bit friendlier. The rooms are great, lovely bathrooms, the showers are HUGE and the heat lamp is a great touch. The kingsize beds are fab, but I would prefer it to be one bed, rather than 2 pushed together, I did fall through the middle at one point. The hotel bar and staff are excellent. However, one evening our drinks didn't turn up, so I asked again, and then he brought just one over, ignoring the other three. We just paid and left at that point, as we had been waiting 20 minutes, but don't let that one man put you off. Breakfast is great. LOTS of choice, hot, cold, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, they cater for everyone. I would love to go back to this hotel. It's in the perfect location for everything!
Hotel is normal. I can't find another word to describe it. It is not good and not bad, not nice and not disgusting - just normal. The room and lobby is not cosy, furniture looks cheap (to be clear: I am not saying it is cheap but it looks like cheap). Bathroom is ok (size is a bit too small for 4* hotel), cleaning could be better though acceptable. Sleeping quality was good. Breakfast was good with wide choice (on weekends breakfast is served late for long-sleepers not to stay hungry), croissants are one of the best I ever tried. Staff is normal - not friendly but not rude, just plane. In general, you do not feel to be welcome here and I assume this situation should be improved. Wif-fi is free of charge, connection and speed were ok. Location - 3-4 min walking distance to Gendarmenmarkt. Nothing was bad during the stay in this hotel however I do not think to come back and woun't recommend this hotel.
Stayed here for four nights and found the hotel to be well run & efficient with a comfortable room & bed. The bathroom & shower were fine though only shower/body gel was provided, no luxurious extras here. I had an inner room facing onto a courtyard & as I found the room far too hot, even with the A/C turned as low as it could go, I found it necessary to sleep with the window open. Unfortunately from very early in the morning there is an awful lot of noise, people talking loudly, squeaky trolleys rattling away & a general din that made it difficult to sleep. The breakfast served is reasonable with the usual continental choices plus scrambled eggs & bacon, plenty of tea & coffee but not great orange juice. I thought the waiting staff were very capable & plentiful. I spent some evenings in the bar with fellow guests & found the staff to be excellent, a perfect blend of friendliness & professionalism: I’m surprised to see some criticisms in previous reviews as our experience was entirely positive. In particular we were most impressed with Anton & his knowledge of & enthusiasm for Malt Whisky - he is a real credit to this hotel! Check in & out were quick but I have to agree with many other reviewers that the hotel really does need to sort out the mini-bar situation & make it clear that NOTHING is complimentary; also €5.90 for a bottle of water & €2.90 for a small packet of crisps is really taking liberties..!
We stayed for three nights at the JFK and overall the stay was a good one. The breakfast was great and the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. A bit of a minus for the minibar that wasn't on so the drinks weren't cold. The beds were ok in comfort, a little hard for my taste. Very nice bar for drinks at night. Overall we had a good stay at the hotel and would recommend you to stay at it. The location is perfect near all good tourist places.
Very good hotel ! Rooms are nice and really comfortable and the noise insulation is perfect ! The breakfast is perfect. The location is very central. All in all, for this price it's a really good deal. The only comment would be regarding the bar, the service was mediocre...
I chose this hotel among recommendations from the Quadriga organisation in the same block, where I attended a professional workshop. The hotel is certainly up to the international standard, and is priced fairly. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I loved the rocking chair. The location is quite close to Unter Den Linden, St. Hedwig's Church, Uni Humboldt, etc.
