The hotel is outdated and you can see that the last refurbish has been done on such low cost that besides being old, it looks cheap. The room we got was very dark (first floor, facing backyard). The fixtures lighting were poor and we could not use the window for a little bit of natural light because it faced a back-view terrace that we had to share with another 3 rooms. This was a really unpleasant situation. The furniture was full of scratches and fingerprints. This is totally unacceptable for a 4 stars hotel. The bathroom was very dark and outdated also. You can barely see to put makeup on. Men cannot safely shave. Thus, there are some good points also. The location is unbeatable: close to central station, city center, shops and restaurants and also close to "cita alta". The bed was confortable and the linen of good quality and very clean.
Very close to the train station and bus station. Situated on a corner near plenty of eateries and cafes ( La Ciotola nearby is amazing for Pizzas!). Sadly this hotel really lets itself down in terms of customer service. The front of house staff were rather unfriendly - which isn't ideal when you're travel weary! The room was fine (though would benefit from a deep clean). Toilet roll and tea and coffee were not restocked and we had to phone reception for these. The request for more loo roll was forgotten though and none was bought up to our room. Free wifi was great and fast. From my experience, this hotel does not deserve such a high ranking on tripadvisor. I know that experiences are all individual but for the amount we paid I feel that there should be a higher standard of customer service. We felt somewhat disregarded and as though we were somewhat of an encumbrance. I would not stay here again. A shame because Bergamo is truly beautiful.
Nice place to stay for a quick visit to Bergamo, Italy. Small, but well appointed rooms. Fast wi-fi and a decent breakfast. It's blocks from the train station, the opera house and all of the main business thoroughfares in Bergamo. Would stay here again.
This is a very nice hotel in a great location. My room looked cool and had enough basic facilities to keep me happy! All the main points of interest in Bergamo are an easy walk away and there a loads of shops, cafes and restaurants! Staff where very helpful and polite.
Perfect for what we wanted, clean 3 or 4 star hotel in a good location. Bus and Train stations are within 5 minutes walk. Walk to the main shopping area is 10 minutes and a walk to the funicular (Citta Alta) is 15 minutes. Rooms are spotless but relatively basic, no iron in the room. WIFI is free and quality!
The first room (215) which we were given was not acceptable. It smelled when we first opened the door: my wife thought cigarette smoke, I thought damp. We both thought it would go away; it did not and it was horrible waking in the night to the throat-catching, pervasive odour. The member of staff was very helpful when we asked to move the next day. The next room was much better. Apart from having no smell, it was lighter, having two windows instead of just the one. Moving on... the breakfast bar was good - food was fresh, varied and regularly replenished. The hotel was convenient for the station and quiet and peaceful in a room at the back. It was about 20 minutes walk to the Citta Alta. It would be fine in the right room.
Thanks for the lovely stay. You made my partners birthday more special. A very nice hotel with friendly staff. Really good breskfast. Excellent location just opposite the train station. The hotel has a really nice restaurant
It is nice hotel. Rooms in violet colors are very pleasent. The bed is quite good so i slept well. Shower is also good. The location in city center, and close to big undergraund parking. So it is ideal for business purposes. Breakfast not so big variety of things. I will say for 3 of 5
Hotel was ok for this price. Very close to city center, near 1A bus stop. Room and bathroom was clean. Fast check in and check out. One minus: we was not able to open balcony in our room. But it was March so it wasn't so important. Nice view on Bergamo Old City.
Nothing to fault had a great stay, great location to the downtown area and train station. Nice walk up to the old town about 10/20minutes. Great breakfast and kind and friendly staff. Room was clean and tidy, good night's sleep.
