It’s not luxurious, but it is a decent midrange choice in the centre of town. Our rooms were on the 4th floor (there is an elevator) and were generally quiet. They offered reasonable comfort and were fairly spacious. The shower was a capsule type and so there was a big step down to the bathroom floor. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was generous, without reaching any great heights. The wifi signal was consistent, but weak, even though the modem was right outside the room. I would stay there again.
It is so easy to find this establishment. It is just opposite the Bergama Archeological Museum. So location is great in the middle of the old town. A very friendly reception staff helps you if you need anything. Room was a bit small but comfortable. Bathroom is a bit small especially for a big person. It is fine to stay there for a night.
Bergama is a small city with not much attractions except for the tourists they are interested in its very historic ancient monuments and ruins going back to Roman and Greek civilizations. Once it was very important civilization center. The famous mausoleum which is considered one of the seven wonders. Unfortunately it was stolen stone by stone by German archaeologists. Now this monument is displayed in Berlin. Hotel is very descent one for such small town. It is clean and comfortable
A nice hotel with very very clean rooms.a verry good location exactly across the museum of bergama. Close to the center.police.and places to eat.a verry good transit and visit hotel.if you have a road nearby bergama definatly stay at this hotel.we will stay next year there in our road to kusadasi.
The Anil Hotel has the perfect location to discover Bergama. It is right opposite the archaeology museum and you are in the heart of the town. We walked to the funicular and went up to the Acropolis and on the way down you pass the Red Basilica. Our room was spacious and very clean and had a kettle and cups for coffee/tea which is very convenient. The beds and bedding are of good quality and hot water all the time in the bathroom. The shower was a bit small but that is not really a negative. Our room overlooked the Acropolis which was an added bonus. The staff was wonderful and could not do enough for us. Breakfast is not a big selection but fresh and more than enough. The hotel is quiet and in the three nights we stayed there we never heard any noise and that made for a good rest. This is really good value for money and I highly recommend it.
This hotel is not for romantic "old house in an old city" travelers like myself. It is comfortable and quiet but for me most of the decorations seemed tasteless. The neighbourhood is central: it is possible to walk to Asclepion and the Red Basilica is just 10 minutes away. You can reach Acropolis easily, besides, the bus stop to Izmir is nearby. Breakfast was good and tasty: small variety of pretty good foods including cakes and bacon.
Positives – Good location – we walked to the Asclepion, then to the Pergamon Acropolis and back to the hotel (a big day on foot, but doable). Warm and helpful staff with enough English for basic communication. Decent breakfast. Spacious rooms with views over town to Pergamon Acropolis. We also had the good fortune of meeting the owners’ chinchilla cat which was brought in one morning – an adorable little thing (you can follow it on instagram). Pretty quiet in room and high quality of sleep. As an aside, we enjoyed Bergama a great deal. It has a very relaxed feel about it. There are very few tourists and we were greeted warmly wherever we went in town. Negatives – Hardly a negative, but something to note - the shower in our room had a sort of massage option which seemed like it had not been working for many years, so if you see it in the hotel pics, don’t expect some magical shower massage.
We found this hotel, recommended by the Lonely Planet, easily and a parking space was held for us outside. We were given a warm welcome by English speaking staff and had a very comfortable room. Breakfast was good and we decided to extend our stay to a second night. Anil and sister run this hotel and treated us with great and sincere hospitality. If we come to Bergama again, we will choose this hotel again, and in the meantime we recommend it to others.
We're a group of 60-70 year olds guys who take an international trip without our wives every year or two. Ended up here and were very pleasantly surprised. Rooms were good including a space age shower that was like out of an Austin Powers movie. Breakfast was on a par with any we experienced in the other 4-5 places we stayed in Turkey. The hosts were the best part, very congenial, helpful and genuinely nice people. Town is a little off the major tourist track but charming none the less. The ruins on the hill and the old hammam make it a worthwhile stop
Sadly we cannot recommend this hotel at all. The room was by far not as appealing as it looks in the pictures. The furniture was covered in plastic sheets (probably to make it last longer). The bathroom smelt. The breakfast buffet did not look anything like on the photo, it is very unspectacular. We travelled around Turkey and spent the nights in very many different places. The placed varied considerably in price and also in what they had to offer. This hotel offers very little for the money you pay, which is why we recommend you find a different place for the night (try further north, the area is much nicer - around red basilica or even further north). Having said all that it is only fair to mention that the staff were very friendly and helpful. Therefor two points.
