I stayed at the Pergamon Pension in 2006 when it was under different management. I enjoyed the location and amenities enough that I wanted to come back with my wife in April 2019. Through an amazing stroke of luck our cab driver took us to a pension he happened to own. As we approached it became increasingly apparent that this pension was the same one I wanted to search for. It's different now. He purchased the building next door and expanded his facility. I've eaten many breakfasts in my ten visits to Turkey, This breakfast ranks at the top. When we left town by bus for Chanakkale the owner took us to a bus stop that was not an apparent choice. We were early. He came back later to ensure we got on the right bus. I would never stay anywhere else in Pergamon/Bergama. All this at a very reasonable price.
I spent 1 night here, lovely place comfortable clean and friendly! Really nice common place in the garden! Great position, near to the most important things of the town: asklepleyon, akropolys and red basil
We chose the Pergamon Pension in the older part of town so we would be in easy walking distance to the historic attractions of Bergama. Room was small however adequate for a one night stay. Breakfast was the best we ate in Turkey.
To get here from the bus station, call and ask to be picked up. We took a taxi who had rigged the meter to run extra fast so that when we arrived it read 40TL instead of the 25 it should have cost. The pension owners are really nice and the huge breakfast they serve will keep you going until dinner time. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Good rooms, plenty of room, clean, nice common balcony with table and chairs, pool ok but still cold in April. Lighting could of been better for reading but we managed. Friendly service and a nice breakfast. Satnav needs GPS coordinates as the address not reliable.
An old house with a lot of charm. But the best part about this pension is the people. The owner couple would do anything to make you feel welcome. The owner happens to be a taxi driver, so he can drive you around the area with a reasonable fee if you should need it. And the wife is such a good cook you'll never forget the breakfast at this place. Best i've ever had anywhere in Turkey, or in the world, for that matter.
I loved stay in this wonderful ottoman house and with this wonderful family! Nuray, Ozden and the girls are so beautiful. It was so nice share stories and some coups of tea. Really a 5 stars charming place and the roof offer a great view of the Acropolis. I hope comeback to Pergamon and to this house. Thanks a lot, Dony
We booked the "Honeymoon Suite" as it had a large bed. The room is on the first floor, up steep, tight, winding stairs. The pension is in an old Ottoman house and being an old building has plenty of flaws - uneven floors, add-in bathroom with raised floor and low door height which meant you had to duck considerably to enter/exit bathroom. I would only give the room a rating of average but taking into consideration the authentic ottoman house stay, the family who run the pension are extremely nice, the breakfast is superb (individual plate with selection of traditional turkish breakfast including fresh fruit and then delivered fresh to the table, beautiful homemade hot food including omelette, sausage, borek, etc), I felt a very good rating is more appropriate. The pension is a bit hard to find with small one way streets in old town centre but is on the door step to cafes, shops, etc. Wifi worked well in room. Off-street parking was available in the owners' own garage.
We were originally allocated a ground floor room and after a polite exchange, were re-allocated an upstairs room and then the next day we lucked out in the large Honeymoon suite. This typified the owners positive attitude throughout the stay and some establishments can learn a lesson from them. As indicated many times, they serve a breakfast which in our case easily meant we only need to eat again at dinner. The view from the deck is great and it was quiet as it is up a long alley way. The only complaint we have is the lack of English channels on the Satellite TV, but this is a common problem throughout Turkey.
Charming, gorgeous house. Super clean and with good wifi. Charming family. I was ill in the night, and they were very kind, offering me local tonics. The breakfast has to be tasted to be believed; especially the fig jam!
