Stop over on the way to the beach. Always a good experience. Was surprised only one was working but she did a great job. We always enjoy our stay and Mike (GM) is a good host. The breakfast room is small but well stocked and the attendant was constantly filling everything. She even accommodated one of our group who requested something not on the menu! We always enjoy our stay here!
It was a very hot day there in June and the AC was perfect. The room was clean and the hotel clerks were very helpful. We only stayed one night It was a good stay. The day clerk gave us information on eateries around town. We choose a smal cafe in mid-town, excellent breakfast. No early check-in, we waited until 3:00 PM. The place was clean even with a shortage of staff.
The room was dirty. The phone was literally sticky. Dust on furniture, grime on walls, mysterious residue on nightstand, bloody footprint on the wall. The room smelled like a sewer leak and air freshener. It was clear the bedspreads had not been laundered in quite a while. Unfortunately, we had no where else to stay (and doubted if any of the other rooms were much better) so instead of complaining or asking to be moved we asked for a couple sheets so we could at least cover up the filthy bedspreads. Deb, a desk clerk, was very abrupt and abrasive and refused to give us two sheets and kept repeating "the rooms have been cleaned, you have plenty of sheets." I told her, especially since there were guests in the lobby at the time, that I didn't want to make a scene about the room, we just needed two sheets to make ourselves more comfortable. She continued to push back so I told her that the room smelled like poop, the room was filthy, etc. She handed over the sheets and said that her manager has asked her not to give extra accommodations to guests, including extra sheets and towels. She did not offer to move us. A manager can call me anytime to discuss our stay. Meanwhile, I've crafted a letter to corporate outlining our stay, the nastiness of the room and the attitude of the clerk.
I was very disappointed in my stay from my arrival to my departure. The gentleman at check in was not friendly and was apparently overwhelmed due to this being the host hotel for my cousins wedding. Not one smile and very little eye contact. Almost as if I was bothering him. The room was poorly cleaned, stains in the carpet, crumbs on the night table, dust on the table where the outlets were and stains in the towels. Asked for a late checkout due to the wedding starting at 3pm the best they could do was 11:30. All I kept hearing is it would mess up housecleaning schedule. I grew up coming to Bennettsville every summer for years and always remembered the southern hospitality. It clearly has left over the years. I do not plan to stay here upon my return for any of my family events in the future.
We stayed there last week. We received excellent service from Cody at the front desk. While this hotel is not new the Room was clean and hotel is Well located close to downtown, restaurants and highways.
We stopped at this motel while traveling to Myrtle Beach from West Virginia. The room rate was great. It was 2 hours out from the beach. This motel is quiet and clean . Continental breakfast was nice. The young gentleman working the desk at check in was excellent. He was also working the morning that we checked out and went above and beyond his job to assist with directions and places to eat in the area.
The rooms were ok, but the staff were not to be found, no coffee in the kitchen, could not get the AC to cool off our room, I heard others complain about the staff too. The staff we did see looked to they did not want to be bothered. Maybe bad management?, not sure as we usually have no problems with Quality Inn. We won't stay here in way back home.
Every year this hotel meets our expectations. The General manager is always courteous and friendly and gives us a great rate. The breakfast is always attended and well stocked. Thanks again to Mike for our comfortable, yearly stay.
We stopped there on our way to Myrtle Beach to break up the trip. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The pool was clean and a great place to relax. The only downfall was the noisy a/c unit in the room. Breakfast was included in our package and it was average at best. Easy to find a place for lunch and dinner in the area.
The stay was Good, My parents was impressed we booked two rooms for two day. Rooms were clean! My only suggestion is to assign the first floor to the elderly and disable, the stairs aren't good for older customers.
