before boarding a ship on the amazon river we enjoyed a night in this modern and comfortable hotel (super big room, large bathroom...) but somehow it lacks atmosphere a bit... restaurant/breakfast area without window had no charme at all (neon light style...) - but very positive: pool on roof top offering wonderful views - an absolute plus! (breakfast not... poor choice for the ranking of the hotel and the price per night...)
Excellent quality of rooms. Bed is very comfortable, bed room and bath room are very clean. Air condition works very well and low sound level. Good service, no complaints. I will recommend it further to my colleagues.
The only reason I don't give 5 stars to this hotel is because its does not want it. There was two issues in my room: a broken air conditioning making loud noises and the bathroom with problems in the clogged drain, making water lick to the hole bathroom. After my first I let a clerk in the front desk know about my problems. Result: no problems solved, no feedback. I think this is a terrible way to treat a client. Worse, I got a status match, and was trying the hotel chain. I decided I don't need this kind of treatment and switched to Grand Mercure in the next week, when I was much better attended. Now, talking about the other subjects of the hotel, except by this front desk clerk, all the staff are very nice, professional and friendly. The restaurant has very good options, very well prepared and the "Peixe no Tucupi" I had there was one of the best I ever had. Breakfast is also very well served, lots of options, local fruits and juices, tapiocas and they let a thermos bottle with fresh coffee in the desk, very convenient. Check-in and check-out were fast and the final balance well described. Hotel is also very well located, just a few meters we have very good restaurants, a pub, different options for local and general food.
We arrived by private car from the airport in the afternoon. We had travelled direct from Australia and were slightly tired. Our toilet overflowed! We could not ring reception as the telephone did not work so my husband got dressed and went to reception. The toilet was fixed! Next morning we went to reception to get the safe unlocked and the telephone fixed. We had to wait until maintenance staff arrived. We stayed for 3 nights and the staff offered a wake up call at 3am for a 5:30 flight and to book us a taxi. We woke to no wake up call and no taxi! The staff appeared helpful but I am unsure. Certainly they gave us advise as to what to do and safety information. Room was comfortable and the breakfast fine. On our last night we presented our 'free drink' vouchers and could not entice the staff to provide a drink during the meal. The drinks arrived when we had finished despite us asking over and over. We could see the staff at the bar just talking. I suspect our waiter was as frustrated as we were. So our experience was confusing.
The only tour operator recommended by the hotel also happened to be the husband of the reception and relative of another, and charged double and without language skills. The breakfast was always the same, and often many of the tubs were empty. There was no espresso machine, and the waiter never returned with gluten free bread. The light in the shave mirror did not work and my requests were not considered. The gym/ sauna were unattended.
An excellent hotel on a pleasant mango-tree lined avenue. We arrived on a red-eye flight early in the morning and there was no problem at all checking in at 5 AM! Very efficient and highly friendly. A spacious lobby area. Our room/suite was huge! A wonderful bedroom and very comfortable bed; a sitting area, and a desk area as well (so some work could be done). Everything was in spic-and-span order. Fine room service. Great city view. Good lighting. Fine writing desk. Very nice and comfortable bathroom. On the roof a fine swmming pool large enough for laps. And good vierws. Breakfast was fine with home cooking and a great diviersity of fruits. Internet a bit challenged... but life is short and not in itself electronic. Their private taxi service was friendly, quick and inexpensive. Relaxed and friendly, efficient and yet personal.
Check in was quick, not many spoke English but there was at least one person who did. Room was spacious and adequate. Included breakfast at this hotel was good. Very hospitable staff. Located in a nice quiet neighborhood,... lots of mango trees around ... walking distance to restaurants/cafe/park and about 15 to 20 minutes walk to Veropeso Market which is a must. Try the whole fry fish at the market. Will stay here again.
I will visit the hotel again and also recommend to my colleagues and friends. The location is very convinient for me. Service and food is very good. The room as well as the hotel is very clean and the bed is very comfortable
The stay was fairly good. Internet service definitively needs improvement. Air Conditioning throughout the building also needs serious maintenance. The quality of the food served in the restaurant also can be improved a lot.
It is said to be one of the best in the city. And it is true although its standards are quite far from those best hotels of a capital should have. My first point for you that wish to make reservation there is: make sure you do yours from their website straight! TripAdvisor (or Hotel.com) does not communicate with their system. A special person at the hotel is in charge to update both systems and this person does not work during bankholidays or weekends. That means if you do your reservation using tripadvisor or any other searching engine you may arrive there as I did and do not have your reservation in the system. Second, the room service regarding diners are terrible! Very expensive and not good at all. Third there is always a tax for everything there. So be aware that the daily rate does not include the surprising taxes. Comfort is ok. Breakfast: I did not tried. Swimming pool on the rooftop is ok nothing special.
