We were forced to stay at this Hotel, when our original booking through booking.com was cancelled. What is there to say except that this is very simple accommodation. The Breakfast room was closed because of the China holiday week (somewhat odd for a hotel?), which was disappointing. There was an unusual and unpleasant smell in the foyer. The beds were very very hard. The people working there were very nice - and helpful. We didn't really look forward to going back to this hotel in the evenings.
The smell of tobaco was overwhelming on our floor ( 3rd ),nearly made us sick,,no attempt to implement the no smoking policy was made,,on one occasion a man entered the lobby with a cigarette in his mouth and it was only after I complained to the desk person he was told to go outside....My son lives in Beijing but would never stay here again which is a shame as I have staid at Ibis hotels before and found them very good value....broken toilet seat didn't help either..
For a short business stay the Ibis at Dongdaqiao is fine. Firstly the location is great with many restaurants, shops etc within walking distance. The hotel is directly opposite the Chaoyang hospital which is handy if you end up not feeling well but also means that the small (very cheap) hotel restaurant is usually very busy. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. You get what you pay for and if you want a functional, inexpensive place to stay for a few days while on business then the Ibis will do just fine!
advantages: location - centre, close to metro, not on the big street; bathroom - clean, hot water, good pressure of water, good white towels; room - white sheets, good bed; good coffee in the cafe downstairs. disadvantages: only one girl spoke english (((, they asked us to pay double price for second person in the room; district surrounded the hotel is not smth interesting; room - in general the quality is lower than other IBIS hotel in Europe, for example.
Situated conveniently between two subway stations that provide access to lines 6 and 10, a 7-11 convenience store next door, and a number of places to eat. Reception was efficient - checking in and checking out. The elevator requires your room key so this provides an extra level of security. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi was very patchy. When traveling we depend a lot on wi-fi to stay in touch with family, to arrange travel and hotel bookings, etc. So the quality of wi-fi usually has a direct impact upon the quality of our stay at the hotel. My experience with wi-fi at this hotel was not good.
The hotel was extremely low budget and not as clean as it could have been. I came to see the Great Wall and left after 2 days. It did the job for my short time there but I'll never stay there again should I visit Beijing.
The hotel is located very close to the subway station, city center, restaurants etc. However the staff does not speak english well, neither its too helpful. Rooms are small and ok clean. Restaurant is not good. eat outside.
This hotel is an international chain but the level of service of the front office not up to the mark. Poor English - very hard to communicate with the staffs. More over the front office staff are not properly trained. There is a seven eleven and few restaurants, more over in the morning outside the hotel you can buy some local foods.
Location: Excellent nearby couple of subway stations, restaurants and shopping centres. Rooms are very small. Hotel needs to focus on cleaning of rooms seriously. Hotel have a small restaurant on ground floor and the bad part is that it opens only till 8:30 in the night. Hotel doesn't have any facilities for currency exchange. I think location is the only best part of this hotel.
Excellent service from the people at the front desk. Alisa Zhang, got me a seat assignment for my China Air flight to Shanghai and printed it out for me, too. It saved me time at the airport and she got me an aisle seat. Above and beyond service. They are going to begin refurbishing the rooms in the next month. The rooms could use a bit of paint. I would stay here again.
