Courtyard by Marriott Beijing Northeast4.0 out of 5.0

I chose this Hotel for Business reasons. Good and comfortable Hotel with very friendly & Service focused Staff. Good breakfast with lots of varieties to select from. Inhouse Restaurant is ok, rather standard. Not so nice is the missing Hotelbar. Only the Executuve Lounge is available on invitation or if you getroffen the Access e.g. due to your Bonus Programm. Still, the Lounge itself was equipped with the Standard alcoholic drinks, wich were removed already at about 09 pm. Food was missing on the evening I visited it. However, there are a coupple of good Restaurants in 5-10 minutes walking distance. Spa area and fitness is quit good.
Missed a connection at 2am at Beijing airport, so I walked in at the reception at night. Welcomed by the night shift leader, friendly and efficient service, got a room immediately, standard room, very good cleanliness, comfortable bed. Breakfast service also efficient, no communication issues, quality and variety of food is good value for money. Fast and efficient checkout, approached in queue by concierge asking if I needed a taxi, ordered immediately, and arranged communication with driver. Overall good experience for a few hours in Beijing.
Courtyard Beijing Northeast locates between downtown and the airport. About 1 hour drive in average, maybe 30 minutes in early morning. The decoration is a bit old and somewhat worn out, and even the executive room is a bit small. I have no idea whether there is any suite room here but I was never upgrade to any suite room even after became platinum member of Marriott. The executive lounge is good, with some dishes and salad with various drinks and wine for happy hour. Sometimes there are too many guests here but overall it is nice. As a Courtyard by Marriot hotel, the price is competitive compare to other nearby hotels. But other players are newer or higher brand. So, it depends on the traveler’s budget and interest. The staff here are friendly and welly trained, CI and other services are quite efficient. Even some accident happens, they know the right way to handle it and satisfy the guests’ expectation. I don’t think I could ask for more. So it is a good candidate for travelers for business trip and hope to live close to the airport, or close to Wangjing area.
My room was lovely, spacious with a nice bathroom and comfy bed. The reception was not very helpful, check in/out was slow and they were never able to find us a taxi. The dinner at the restaurant is truly awful and expensive, definitely go elsewhere!
Easy to reach from the Wangjing South subway station! On foot it'll take about 15-20 minutes to reach the subway but it's literally just down the same street with a couple big blocks. This station is less frequented so it isn't nearly as congested as other Beijing destinations. Other reviews will note that this is not in a tourist area, which is correct. HOWEVER, I appreciated this because my colleague and I were not being hawked for trinkets when we'd leave the property. We did, of course, have many odd looks at these two gargantuan Westerners walking in business clothes, but whatever. From the airport, it only took about 30 minutes to reach the hotel even in steady, heavy traffic. The airport road runs parallel to the hotel. On that note, it's critical you print off the Chinese language instructions from the hotel's website to help taxi drivers locate this hotel. Of the 15 or so taxis we had in a 7 day stretch, about half of them were scratching their head trying to figure out its location. Must be it isn't in a frequently traveled area (thus my note above that it doesn't fall in a touristy area!). Supposedly there as an IKEA just a few blocks away but I wasn't able to get away long enough to experience it. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. Every Western option you could ever want was presented along traditional Chinese breakfast options like congee. The coffee is, sadly, instant from a machine, but it was oddly comforting and delicious considering all the other details that they hit just right. Dinner options in the restaurant are also available and more than suitable. The Marriott burger is an A+, get it! Jacky Zhang at the front desk is a hell of great employee. He always had the right answer and was gracious. His English proficiency was outstanding and he always could figure out what our needs were for business. I really appreciated his presence and was sad to say goodbye as we headed to another city because I wasn't sure we'd luck out with another excellent employee of that caliber elsewhere. All in all, while this isn't in the prettiest of areas in Beijing, it'll certainly provide the Western comforts you're seeking and provides ready access to any areas of Beijing you want to explore. Consider it!
We recently spent 3 nights here. Our room was a good size with a very comfortable king size bed.We were part of a tour with long days so the comfort was much appreciated. We started our days with breakfast that had a very extensive selection. We heard the eggs Benedict was good but it took them about 25 minutes to cook. There was a swimming pool to stretch out those sore muscles at the end of the day.
Pretty good reception and allowed early check in while I totally appreciate after a red eye flight in and bad traffic jam. Room n bed is big though room furnishing feels a little old. Staff speaks gd English.
This hotel was super clean and the rooms were large. The service was friendly and efficient, the wifi was strong, and the food was above average quality. The thing that was a bit shocking was that you are charged a deposit when you check-in. The hotel should warn you about this. I stayed here for a few days and my charge was supposed to be about $400 AUD, but with the deposit payment, I had to pay over $700 AUD. That's nearly double the charge. You do get this money back when you check-out, but it's a lot of money to be charged especially when you are most likely going to be doing tourism things which are going to be costly. I think the breakfast was a bit costly for the food selection that was available. I've been to many 5 star hotels with cheaper breakfast and a huge variety of food. I also didn't like the lingering smell of smoke in some of the towels and the shower curtain. The hotel is too far to the major tourist sites as well. I stayed here because I was attending a conference and the conference was close to this hotel. If you are in Beijing for tourism purposes, I would not choose this hotel.
Stay here during my final day at Beijing on 20th Octocber 2017, after arriving from Xian by Bullet Train. This hotel is near to Beijing International Airport which is about 25 minutes driving. Located at 101 Jingmi Road, WangJing, Chaoyang District. From the Bell Boy, Reception Staffs, all Restaurant staffs at MOMO Café are very accomodating and very friendly. They all speak very good English which is to my surprise. One staffs and also the Restaurant Manager @ Miss Alma Su caught my attention. She made sure we have a good dinner and we well look after. I will certainly recommend this hotel to other travellers. They also will call taxi/cab/uber/private car service for you to the airport but please informing them earlier for your smooth travel. They will call your room number to confirm the cab without you reminding them, which i find very accomodating. I will also recommend higher floor room if you stay here for your trip. To relax, there is a Spa too.
The rooms are decent size but getting a bit dated. The food in the (only) restaurant is just not good either for breakfast or dinner. And the Internet speed was so slow I opted to use my phone with the cellular service.
