Bear Lair: Luxe cabin, private lake, caves, trails, fast WiFi @ Bear Track Lake

Bear Lair, our first cabin, is a cozy, intimate lakeside getaway. We built Bear Lair to feature the best of all the cabins we had visited, and we strove to add aspects that would make a stay here unique and memorable. Given the proximity to Red River Gorge and the Daniel Boone National Forest, we made every effort to showcase how beautiful wood can be. This includes the unusual ceiling, the hardwood floors, and the white pine walls, as well as the owner-crafted cedar chest, counter, and bar. Our cabin is now equipped with up to 300 Mbps fiber optic internet. A favorite of guests is the 22-foot porch overlooking the lake. From the porch, you can fish, feed the fish (with provided fish food), or just sit and watch for the wildlife that regularly visits the lake. If you are lucky, you just might see a deer bringing her new fawn down for a drink! Besides the cabin, the property has many features that you'll get to enjoy while staying here. From the caves, overhangs, and cliffs to the beautiful trees and waterfalls, it's hard to imagine ever being bored at our cabin rental. We promise you will want to return. A boat or canoe can be rented in season (April–October) for an additional fee, pending availability.
The cabin is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with a separate bedroom. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a sofa bed.

    Cute little cabin right on the lake. We didnt want to leave the cabin. They have fish and fish food and this was a routine with our morning coffee. So much to do at the cabin and property. The owner was nice. The cabin was clean.

    Relaxing vacation!

    My husband and I stayed in this cabin over the Memorial Day weekend and holiday and it was a great, quiet area. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was stocked well with pots, pans and seasonings for cooking. The Blackstone grill was a great amenity, too! Since the cabin is overlooking the lake, the host provided fish food and there is a boat that can be rented for your stay, also. The communcation with the host was great and was available if we had any questions. We were travelling in a Ford F150 and the parking was a bit tight so keep that in mind when choosing this cabin. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience here!

    Perfect cabin retreat

    Even better than described. The cabin was cute and supplied with everything you would need. Wifi worked great. Blackstone grill was a nice touch. The outdoor space was phenomenal -- decks on two levels and our own private fishing dock! (if anyone can get any of those HUGE fish to bite, tell me how!) We ate breakfast on the deck watching the fish and the turtles in the lake below. Just a beautiful view over the lake. Would love to book the bigger cabins and come back with more family & friends. Booking and check in was easy. 100% recommend.

    Bear Lair Very Nice

    The cabin was very clean inside. It sits right beside the lake. It great for fishing or just relaxing. We had friends stay at a nearby cabin and we could walk back and forth easily. There are many beautiful natural sight to see in walking distance.

    Our 2 person cabin was absolutely beautiful and perfect for my husband and I. Your walking trails on your property are well kept and the scenery and caves are very awsome!! We rented your 2 person boat while there and throughly enjoyed fishing and exploring your private lake! Was truly a wonderful reconnect with one another (spouse) peaceful private stay. 10 out of 10, would stay again!

    Great Place with some nice perks

    My GF and I stayed here while on a climbing trip for a few nights. we loved the vidbe of the cabin and all the perks to the location. Note the boat is $15 extra per day which we were not aware of. Deffinately reccomond renting the boat for at least a day. The lake was nice and the caves were a great bonus. Thanks Janice!

    Wonderful place

    We live a very busy life, so we wanted a place to relax and regroup. This place delivered, it is a beautiful, quiet place! The cabin is awesome; it was clean and has everything you need. The view of the lake is so pretty and we enjoyed feeding the fish.

    PERFECT

    This property is amazing. You can vacation there and never have to leave. There is hiking, boating and fishing right on the property. It was clean and the hosts thought of all the amenities to make the stay perfect. We've stayed at a lot of cabins and this was bar far our favorite. The hosts were attentive and quick to answer any questions or concerns.

    Perfect peaceful getaway

    This was the perfect cabin for me and my husband for the weekend. The cabin on the outside is “woodsy”. The cabin on the inside was white glove clean. The owners thought of everything. I loved feeding the fish right from the balcony with the fish food that was provided. Very well stocked. Far enough away from all the razors, side by sides and 4 wheelers that came in for the weekend but close enough to enjoy Natural Bridge. Check in and check out were a breeze. The owners promptly replied when I had questions. Wifi was pretty good. The scenery around the lake was beautiful. There were other cabins around the lake, but we felt like we were the only ones there. Very peaceful. Even though it rained we could still enjoy sitting and viewing the lake because of the covered deck with ample seating. The road and driveway were both gravel. There had been a lot of rain so it was a little muddy. The first morning we were there, the owner was out with his tractor and got the road in better shape to travel on. Lots of rain, but he was on-top of things. We will definitely rent this cabin again when we come back.

    I really enjoyed my stay here

    Like I said I enjoyed my stay, there is just a few things that I would have liked differently. I didn’t realize when booking that this cabin was so close to other cabins. I also would have liked to bed to be more comfortable coming from some with back pains. However overall I would stay here again but just bring a mattress pad

    Beautiful and peaceful

    The cabin was very clean, beautiful, and peaceful. It snowed and we didnt want to venture into the cold so we stayed inside and relaxed. The cabin had everything we needed. We wish it didn't snow, although it was beautiful, so we could have found the trails. We look forward to coming back in the summer when the weather will play nice. Very beautiful property!!

    Fantastic experience and wonderful location!

    The cabin was beautiful and had a lot of really cool features. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to tell us about all of the unique and fun attractions that surrounded the area (caves, trails, views, etc.). The entire area is beautiful and incredibly relaxing. We will absolutely look to rent this property again in the future!

    False advertising

    First, the owner never came by to show the property or answer any questions or offer any suggestions until we were loading up to leave. Then he shows up and mentions there's a cave 150 ft or so down the path. That would have been nice to know yesterday or when we got there. We rented this property because of the mention of the boat with a motor. But when we got there, the boat was on its side and tied to a tree. I messaged the owner about it and several hours later he replied with "Boats are available only from April until the end of November". This was not mentioned anywhere in the description nor did he mention it until I asked. All that said, it is a nice cabin and we did enjoy our time there and sitting on the porch and looking out over the lake. Maybe mention in the add that "Boats are available only from April until the end of November" and come by and say Hello and maybe give some advice or answer questions in person.

    Great Get Away!

    Very cozy cabin - clean and well stocked! We were there in November so we didn't use the boat, but what a nice option to have. We were close enough to all the hikes and destinations in Red River Gourge, but we enjoyed the privacy and quiet at the bear cottage. Definetely would recommend

    Cabin on the Lake

    This cabin was absolutely beautiful. There were multiple decks overlooking a gorgeous lake, a boat house, a fishing hut, a fire pit.. the list goes on. I could tell immediately the cabin owners took pride in their property by keeping it well stocked, the cute bear-themed decorations throughout, and the cleanliness of the property. The owners even provided us with some firewood and a container of fish food for the lake. We spent hours lounging on the dock just feeding the fish and watching the lake. I would definitely recommend this cabin for any couple wanting a quiet and relaxing cabin vacation.
