This was our first stay in Bayfield. In the past, while in the area for a Big Top Chautauqua show we stayed in Ashland. The lodging cost in Bayfield is quite high and availability low. On this trip, we traveled with another couple and I found this motel with an affordable room option named "Economy Double Room" at $170 a night. It is a bedroom in a 2-story house that has been converted into "bed and breakfast" type accommodation, without the "breakfast." It includes a bathroom that has been added to the room. We had 2 of the 3 rooms upstairs. I imagine rooms on the ground level might be noisy with someone walking around in the room above. However, if you cannot make it up a steep, narrow staircase with your belongings, you will want to get a ground-level room. This is a great location, with the ferry dock, shuttle pickup to Big Top, a beautiful view of the harbor, and a nice choice for dining within a 2-block walk. The room was immaculate, the bed was very comfortable, and the check-in was very quick and friendly. There is a coffee maker in the room if you need it before the coffee shop a block away opens at 7 am. We would stay here again!

The property was very nice. Best part is it's location, walking distance to everything in Bay Field. Worst thing, the room does not have a refrigerator or anywhere to hang clothes, other than a jacket. At $190 a night (taxes included) I don't think having an office frig to keep cheese & wine cool is that much to ask.

Central location. Dated but clean

As they say, the 3 most important things in choosing a motel are LOCATION, LOCATION, & LOCATION. This quaint facility is right near restaurants and access to tour boats to Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands (I road my electric scooter to the boat)! The room was small but clean and other than the Labor Day fireworks it was quiet. P.S. we enjoyed the fireworks!!!

We booked a two bedroom suite but we’re given a one bedroom with an extra bed sitting out in the open dinette/sitting room. The one bedroom was dark, with no glass window, had dim lighting, no mirror. The unit’s one room air conditioner was located in the bedroom, highup near the ceiling. So when we closed the door at night for privacy the others guests did not receive cool air. The location of the motel was excellent and within walking distance of all the wonderful shops and restaurants that the city has to offer..

Charming motel in a prime location. Each room is different. Stayed in nr 1, 2 and 9. These rooms are very small, in keeping with the character. Clean. Nice surroundings. Room 2 is unsafe with electric outlet near the floor and shower in the bathroom. Scarce electric outlets, not even for a coffee maker. You pay for the location.

We had a very small bathroom with a very small shower, but the kitchenette made up for the small bathroom. The room itself was very large and comfortable, making our stay enjoyable.

Nice location to just park your car and leave it during your stsy.

Great view of harbor. All good. Good value for the price

Lona, The lady who made the reservations and also checkef us in couldn't have been more wonderful!

Overlooking lake Superior. Nice place friendly staff. It would have been nice however to have a fridge and microwave

The room was very warm and comfortable! Right near the water and services

Thank you for leaving your response. We thought that it is clear on our website that this room has 2 beds (King and a Queen) with the King being in the private bedroom. So glad you did find our location a positive. We have had many guests stay in Room 8A and loved it. We are sorry it did not meet your needs. Thank you for the feedback.
