Scenic & Really Enjoyable

Lake House

We had a wonderful time exploring Lake Vallecito, just the right location to Durango and hiking trails. I was surprised how quiet it was considering the number of homes in that area. I really enjoyed the porch, sitting outside with a cup of coffee, relaxing as I took in the view and sounds from the lake.

Great get away!

The cabin is beautiful, had everything we needed and comfortable…especially the bed!! Property is very clean and fully stocked. Beautiful peakaboo views of the lake from the deck and inside the cabin. It was quiet and relaxing while we were there. (Tip, for a delicious breakfast or lunch take a short drive to Bayfield to visit Brenda’s Old West Cafe). Durango is a beautiful drive to visit the mineral baths at Durango Resort or to just shop in town. Just can’t express how much we enjoyed our time there and already planning our next visit! We have some hiking trails to finish!Rene s a great hostess, very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended this cabin and the area.

Beautiful location & Excellent host!

My family and I were staying here for a family wedding. This was a comfortable home for 3 adults and two children (3yo & 11yo.). The beds were comfortable and the decorations felt homey. We also had everything we needed to make meals in the kitchen. A small grocery store was just down the road with very friendly folks working there! The kids went down to the lake practically every day to go fishing and loved it! My husband and I took the kayak out to the lake one early morning before everyone was awake and let me tell you, the fresh air, mist, and being out there in the middle of Vallecito lake was incredibly peaceful. To top it all off, René, the host was super easy to contact and even came by to say hi to us. She reached out before we even got there to give us specific instructions on how to find the place from the airport we were coming in through and listed places near by to get groceries. You won’t regret staying here. The house also comes with fishing rods for you to use and a kayak. I would definitely take my family here again!

Weekend getaway

Rene was an amazing host. She always kept us up to date on our upcoming trip. She was full of good tips on arrival and how to find the property. The cabin was perfect for our trip and it was full of the little things you need in the kitchen. Would highly recommend booking with one of her properties. Can not wait to book another trip on the lake. Rene again thank you for the amazing hospitality.

Beautiful respite

The cabin and location were great for the down time we needed. It was also a great central location to go out to Pagosa, Durango, and Messa Verde from. The lake is beautiful and the cabin is not too far from the doc with a good selection of boats to rent for a beautiful time on the lake. The host was very helpful and had great communication for all of our questions.

Perfect Vacation!!

This was our second time resting this cabin from Rene. As always, cabin was clean, it was quiet and just what myself and husband needed to recharge and unwind. Fishing was great and weather was perfect. Took a day to drive 30min to Durango and rode the Durango train to Silverton, we highly recommend that train

Great Lake cabin

Vallecito is one of my favorite places to visit. The cabin was perfect for our stay. It was very clean and had all of the amenities we needed. Rene was a super attentive host and was readily available for any questions or needs. Would definitely recommend!

Great Place!

Beautiful place. Very peaceful! Nice and spacious. We have stayed at the Shanti Chick and the cabin next door to that multiple times, both great! If you want a little more room, ask Rene’ about this one!

Valliceto Lake Cabin

Cozy rustic cabin in veiw of Valliceto Lake. Perfect for a quiet get away. Our host, Rene, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She recommended the perfect hike and checked in with us regularly.....five stars.

Lake Cabin

The cabin was good and comfortable:). Rene was very helpful and the checkin was a breeze. She told us of some wonderful places to check out! The only suggestion that we had was to purchase a new router for the TV, or a more reliable service. We didn't go there to watch TV; however in the evening we wanted to watch the news. The TV would constantly buffer throughout the evening, so watching anything was quite difficult. Overall we enjoyed our experience in Vallecito Lake, "Little Valley" and the Avery cabin. Thanks Rene for all your help!!

This cabin did not disappoint. Rene met us at cabin when we got there It was quiet. beautiful and just what we needed. A short walk to the lake. I made a friend with a chipmunk, came daw me every morning Will most definitely be back

Relaxing time away

This cabin was perfect for our family of 4. The cabin stayed cool even with higher than average temps in the area. The lake was a just a quick walk away and my husband caught rainbow trout from the shore. The kids loved playing in the water and it was great to have a home base to come back to after visiting with family and friends.
