Carpeting and furniture in rooms needs to be replaced, Was rather dirty and smelly. The place looks nothing like the pictures they show you. They show bigger rooms , with a much better offered breakfast, But otherwise was a nice stay...

After a day at the Visitors' Space Center, the Days Inn Bastrop was a good stop without getting into the Austin traffic mess. Got the room online, good price for roomy King, non-smoking. One bonus was that the gas station next door had the least expensive gas we'd seen in all our road trip (AZ-LA)! After checking in, wanting a bite to eat at 9 p.m., the friendly desk clerk had brochures for a local Italian restaurant, claiming to be open until 10 p.m. We expected a very small, "sorry, oven's already off" hole-in-the-wall place. What a surprise to find "Bassano del Grappa Italian Restaurant" not only open, but also to be a very spacious Lodge, interesting and lovely to visit. Felt elegant yet casual-friendly at the same time. Large menu selection. We'd wanted just a bite, but the Trout & Pasta Special was wonderful. The home-made bread could be a meal in itself; it must make good pizza. We were grateful for the adequate breakfast typical of these mid-range motels: cereals, some fruit, that Special Waffle. I gave the motel a "3": (1) In the morning I tried to shower but could not move the lever to change the water to the shower head...tried as much as I dared before I felt something might break. [ Rm#104: At check out I reported this to the friendly Clerk/Owner who showed genuine concern.] (2) Juice machine's powdered OJ was a bit too crunchy that day. (3)Walls (ceiling?) are a little thin; typical muffled talk, laughter, etc., but not terrible.

I was disappointed that the room had a strange odor. I wanted to put something in the refrigerator and there was a lot of old food in there. There was also old fruit on top of the refrigerator.

Hotel was dated but clean, comfortable bed, new bedding, many places to eat close by

This place is neat and clean and the location was great. There is an Exxon station next door that had some tasty home cooked food as well. That may be hard to believe but if you like shrimp and catfish....go there.

The front desk personell were all very nice. And the breakfast was adequate. And fresh. The hotel left much to be desired. The room smelled. The spread and blanket were smelly to sleep under. I stayed there 8 nights and the sheets were not changed once. Shampoo and conditioner were only left in the room for me twice all week. I choose the cheapest hotel I could find and got what I paid for.

We loved the location a few miles outside Bastrop. It was so much quieter. The staff was super friendly and check-in was a breeze. The room was very clean and I liked the bedspreads. There were lots of comfortable pillows. It was a TRUE non-smoking room. It had a mini fridge, microwave, iron and full-size ironing board and a hair dryer. There were plenty of towels. For the price it was an exceptional value. We plan to stay there again.

I went here thinking this place was run of the mill. However when I arrived the man at the front desk was so friendly, and helpful that I thought that I was at a 5 star resort. Yes my room was ordinary, but it was clean, and comfortable. The front desk staff was out of the ordinary, and that made all the difference.

The Hotel staff were very attentive. They made sure we had all we needed for the room. Even though the breakfast area was cozy and well stocked. The coffee was delicious. I was so sorry we didn't have time to swim in the pool. It was very clean and inviting.

Stayed here for our trip to Bastrop State Park. Hiking trails were awesome, especially the 8.5 mile Lost Pines Trail. At the hotel, when I asked for bagels at breakfast, the hotel management said they were out, but would go get some. I told them not to worry about it. But they insisted on getting them for us. Unbelievable service. Thank you!

Hotel and staff were really great. Clean, well stocked rooms. Neighbors coughed all day and night. Garbage from convenience store across parking lot had horrrible smell. Was only a problem when outside tho odor didn't penetrate room. Nice breakfast. Phone calls answered promptly.

Room was booked weeks in advance and was not ready when we arrived. The Indian staff were not friendly, not helpful and seemed to think our inconvenience should be ok. The alternate room was dirty, beds stunk and were uncomfortable. Would have left but was paid in advance and non refundable. We will never stay there again even for free. Any other motel would give a refund or discount but they would not. Absolutely the worst experience at any motel. Stay away!

The staff are not friendly and do nothing to resolve problems. Our room was booked weeks in advance and was not available when we arrived. Alternate room was horrible.

I was very surprised at the comfort level of the room. The double bed shared with my wife was extremely comfortable and I slept well for the two nights. The air conditioner also performed flawlessly. Everthing else including the shower worked flawlessly. One fault to note was the small continental breakfast area (one table, I think). Of course, given the small size of the town and the small amount of rooms in the complex, it is probably average. It was located in a great location within a half-hour drive to a close relative's house near La Grange where we spent Thansgiving.

The hotel had crikcets, roaches and bugs on the bed that made it very uncomfortable. the noise level was quite loud
