We stopped here on the way to do the Camino De Santiago. We are From California so we have seen our fair share of beach towns. We didnt expect to feel so at home so far away. The Hotel Florida was wonderful. A tiny apartment that was big enough to fit three people comfortably and had a small kitchen. We could not have asked for more regarding the location. So close to the beach and right in the middle of a square that included places to eat shop and even a beautiful church. We felt safe and comfortable.

This is a well situated hotel. There is a public car park right outside the front door. For the price paid it's good value for Biarritz. Rooms are a decent size, you will pay more for a room with a view. Breakfast is just average. I have read some of the other comments. Yes the lift is small but it's an old building, it adds to the charm. Staff were very friendly. In all I would recommend this hotel.

We wanted to visit somewhere new and Biarritz seemed like a good idea. We chose the hotel for the view, location and most of all it allowed pets. The staff was very pleasant to us. The room was clean and for the most part we had enough room. It was right on a plaza with restaurants there as well as nearby. The balcony was small but accommodated my wife and I just fine. There was a breakfast buffet available each morning but we opted not to go as the price was a bit high for us for breakfast items.

The Hotel Florida is ideally situated in A central Town position and, only a 10 minute taxi ride (fare 18-20 euro) from the airport. Having stayed a week in a Junior Suite Room we felt comfortable, the bed was a little on the soft side, but we had plenty of room to "stretch " out. The bathroom room in particular was well finished, our onky cause for not giving it a 5 Star Rating being that the toiletries were seldom replenished in full. The balcony gave us a great side view onto the sea, the area below the balcony was mainly pedestrianised therefore traffic noise was not a problem. As usual breakfast was expensive at 14 euro for a full Buffett but when in France do as the French and find a bar. The situation was great being near the old port 10 mins walk such that p,entry of restaurants were within a few mins walk. During our stay the fire alarm went off twice, somewhat disconcerting that the staff didn't act correctly, by remaining in the reception and advising pax who bothered! To go down ,oh it was a hair dryer that caused the alarm !!

This hotel has a very good position close to the beach but that's its main benefit. We found it dated, rather shabby and affected badly by early morning street noise. Our room was stuffy and required lots of aircon to make it liveable. Towels were so tired they would be binned in a homeless shelter. Because of Biarritz's tortuous streets, we never found the hotel car park, but were lucky to get late afternoon street parking. It gets 3/5 for location by 2/5 for everything else.

We have stayed in many four and five star hotels all around the world and in our opinion this hotel is nowhere near four star. If you’re thinking of a large lobby, multiple restaurants, spacious lounges, etc. then think again. This hotel is very ordinary and at 155 Euros per night (reduced offer) without breakfast and with no onsite parking, it’s not cheap! To be fair however, there is public parking very close by for 16 Euros per day or 1.60 per hour. The situation of the hotel is very convenient for the beach and access to the shops. However we found the room and the hotel very cramped and poorly supplied with very few toiletries. On the Thursday we were there the restaurant was closed and we never saw the terrace outside open. In regard to the room we found this very small and cramped. Although generally clean we noticed the shower cubical was dirty in one corner and looked like it had been so for some time. The separate toilet was so small you had a problem to sit down. We chose a room with a sea view and balcony, which turned out to be a side view with a very small balcony that had just enough room to put two chairs and a small folding table. At night, the square was very noisy, with shouting coming from a snack bar close to the square which continued into the early hours of the morning. Then about 7.30 to 8 we were awakened by vans and refridgerated trucks running their engines while they unloaded their cargos for the local services below. Biarritz is a lovely place but if we visited again we’d look elsewhere.

Perfect setting. Beautiful view of the coastline. Friendly staff. We will definitely come back here again. Nice breakfast although we weren't lucky with the weather. We had an individual balcony terrace overlooking the sea. I highly recommend this hotel. Very good value for money.

We rented an apartment (they are in the back and quiet) with a small bedroom but spacious dining area with table and 4 chairs, sofa bed, kitchenette and decent sized, modern bathroom with large shower. All was clean upon arrival. The location is perfect as it is walking distance to all beaches, bars and shops. I did see the regular rooms with balconies were small. We had good service from the staff but perhaps that is because my husband speaks French. My only complaints were the musty smell in the hallways (I don't complain about the small staircase or lift because it is an old building) and the weak internet. The staff did give us the password to another server in the lobby so I was able to respond to email when sitting in the lobby but in the room it functioned only intermittently. I agree with other reviewers that it is 3 stars, not 4 stars, but I would still recommend it and think it is still a good value if you rent the apartment.

While the hotel is in a good location and the girl on reception was very helpful, the hotel definitely doesn't merit 4 stars. The lift is minute, the corridors are extremely narrow and musty smelling and the walls are paper thin. Our room was too small to swing a cat and the bathroom was so tiny that we had to move into the bedroom to dry ourselves after a shower. Luckily we were only staying for one night as we would have struggled if we had booked in for longer.

We booked this hotel based on its 4 star rating and its location right in the heart of Biarritz. This can't be denied and it is smack bang in the middle of the bars, restaurants and the beaches. It was really convenient to be able to pop out for food, meet friends and socialise close to our room. Hotel has a clean and 'cosy' feel to it.....or to be frank 'its small' basically reception, and rooms. Rooms were small but it didn't bother us because we were there for only 3 nights - any longer and we'd ideally be looking for more space. What really let it down for me was the staff on reception, one girl in particular who was quite impersonal and abrupt. Seemed like an inconvenience that we (and others) were staying, they we're helping people with 'the nearest place to park', even though it was right outside in an underground car park. Wifi kept dropping out every 10mins which was straight up annoying - booking a hotel this doesn't seem like an issue but when your there its a problem if you like staying connected. When i travel i take photos of everything - funny enough i don't have any photos to attach to this review.
