We booked this hotel based on its 4 star rating and its location right in the heart of Biarritz. This can't be denied and it is smack bang in the middle of the bars, restaurants and the beaches. It was really convenient to be able to pop out for food, meet friends and socialise close to our room. Hotel has a clean and 'cosy' feel to it.....or to be frank 'its small' basically reception, and rooms. Rooms were small but it didn't bother us because we were there for only 3 nights - any longer and we'd ideally be looking for more space. What really let it down for me was the staff on reception, one girl in particular who was quite impersonal and abrupt. Seemed like an inconvenience that we (and others) were staying, they we're helping people with 'the nearest place to park', even though it was right outside in an underground car park. Wifi kept dropping out every 10mins which was straight up annoying - booking a hotel this doesn't seem like an issue but when your there its a problem if you like staying connected. When i travel i take photos of everything - funny enough i don't have any photos to attach to this review.
Hotel Florida should be stripped of it stars. From staff to rooms should be 0. When we got to our room after checking in we found out that they did not clean the room. How can anybody rent a room that was not cleaned , disgusting. They just changed the sheets , everything else was dirty. There was still dirty cups and bowls on the sink, the showers doors had hard water stains. The place smells weird. The front staff was nonchalannt like our complaints was unimportant. I said I would complain to booking and they said ok. They didn't offer anything to rectify the problem. They just looked at us with a Poker face. Horrible. We only stayed the night.
This place apparently had beg bugs a few years ago.I found this out after we checked in, so I was on high alert and I found a blood spot under the mattress and on one of the decoration pillows. Eeew! Thank goodness we saw no other evidence. And NO hot water in the shower!!!! Arg! The wi-fi drops out constantly. The elevator is tiny so we took the stairwell which stinks horribly. All in all, a rip off. Their location is their only redeeming feature, and they are taking advantage of people because of it.
Spent four nights in this hotel. I felt the discription of the hotel amounted to false advertising. We booked a twin room with balcony and sea view. From the picture on the internet it looked like we were on the sea front. However we were on a square and looking to the left one could see the sea and some rocks. The balcony was the width of a table and two chairs, which you had to squeeze on to. The room had twin beds stuck together. I could reach out and open the door without getting out of the bed. The toilet was separate to the shower but had no hand basin. We had breakfast on our last day. The price €13. It was an absolute rip off. In a country with lovely fresh fruit, we were presented with tinned fruit cocktail. The scrambled egg was cold and tasted awful, would it have been powered egg? The rashers were pure fat. It was the worst breakfast I ever paid for. In its favour the only thing going for this hotel is the location, it is very central.
This was a day and night stopover on our road trip to Portugal with our grandchildren. The hotel is located on a square with plenty of restaurants and night life around. The Junior suite was well appointed with a small balcony overlooking the square.
Located on Place Eugenie right next to the fishermen's port and the old town. Our room was very cramped (although there are some bigger ones) and noisy with the window open. Fortunately the air con worked well. Good quality shower and bathroom fittings in a tiny space. Kettle and safe provided. WiFi OK but kept cutting off. There is fairly expensive underground parking under the square and you have to drive through pedestrian area to reach it. Breakfast seemed expensive so we ate elsewhere. Seemed a bit expensive - but I guess you pay for the location.
First of all, the 'suite' is really just a large room with the bathroom placed right in the middle. It does have two separate balconies, but is not really 2 rooms. The location is great, service and price are 'not bad'.
Best location in the town near the funky bars and restaurant and very close to some great restaurants. Hotel staff are very helpful and always busy. We could not fault this hotel after two weeks travelling Spain and France so far this is the best hotel! Thank you hotel Florida :)
More like a hostel than a hotel it was reasonably clean and had a modern shower. It is worth paying a little extra for a sea view. The location and price is the reason you would stay here. We found it OK despite all the bad review it had.
We had the end room on the 4th floor. The room was very small but that just meant you had to be very tidy. Space on top of the wardrobe and at the side of it for suitcases, so that helped. Without the balcony, it would've been hard to dry off our wetsuits. Tiny shower room too. We are both fairly thin but if you were on the plumpish side, you'd have trouble in there! Lovely views out over the sea and looking down onto place St Eugenie. Tiny balcony but certainly big enough to sit out and watch the world go by. I would recommend the hotel for its central location - bars and restaurants within easy reach.
