We only had a brief stay over in Biarritz so we're very pleased at the central location of the Hotel. the staff were helpful and provided us with some ideas of what to see to make the most of our visit. We were able to easily walk to all the shops and down to the sea. Our room was clean and tidy.
Great stay and location. Front desk was very helpful in providing recommendations and arranged a taxi for us. Rooms were very clean. Family Suite was great for us. Great Value price wise. Biarritz is a fabulous place to visit.
The residence is located near a small but very noisy street. So be prepared for sleeping difficulties when motocycles are passing through at night. The residence itself needs a lot of removation ( refrigerators, elevator!!, garrage interior, kitchenette equipment etc). The main advantage is a proximity to Halles (even 300m away) where you can buy a lot of different local food and fruits. I advise everyone to taste famous french terrines.
GReat location, easy access with lift. Close to transport, very clean Appartment and helpful reception. Beds extremely comfortable. A little basic on the home comforts side. All amenities in the apartment in good condition. Would recommend.
We chose Residence Biarritz Ocean Hotel for a few primary reasons. First of all location. The hotel is is located in central Biarritz. Very close to everything. Secondly the hotel was supposed to have family rooms. We booked a family suite with garden view. Upon arrival we were greeted with super friendly staff and the reception area gave a nice first impression. However the room/apartment was not to our expectations. Calling it a family suite is extremely exaggerated. The main bedroom was nice and spacious but the second bedroom was only approximately 3 square metres with only a narrow bunk bed. If you plan a family stay here, the extra bedroom actually isn't usable for children older than 12. The room/apartment had no air condition and with summer daytime temperatures above 30 centigrades, the nights were almost unbearable. The kitchenette and living room area was ok but with broken floor tiles and rather worn/dirty painted fibreglass wallpaper. The balcony with garden view was nice. However not so quiet as the impression you get from reading their website. Actually there is a main street passing very close to the hotel with a lot of traffic noise. This wasn't a problem except during the night when we had to sleep with open balcony door and bedroom window because of the lack of air conditioning. Motorcycles accelerating woke us several times every night. The breakfast was simple and nice but a bit too expensive. At €10 p/p I really did expect a bit more than a cup of coffee, a croissant and a glass of orange juice.
Ideally situated for the beach. The apartment we stayed in was looking very tired and scruffy. Not really suitable for 4 adults because of the bunk beds and not much space. Ideal for a couple or a couple with 2young children. I wouldn't stay there again
We stayed three nights in the Residence Biarritz Ocean and were basically happy with our stay. Despite the apartment and possibly the complex needing an upgrade, particularly to flooring and furnishings, it was reasonably clean, functional and ideally located in this resort town. The staff were exceptional in accommodating our wishes and concerns, particularly a smelly refrigerator. It was good value for money.
A lovely place, clean and spacious with facilities for cooking and a small balcony.Very friendly and helpful receptionist.I dont know about the breakfast because we did not eat there.Would definitely recommend.
The Residence is located within easy walking distance of beach, bars and restaurants. However, the property is on a steep hill and Biarritz is hilly in general. This presented challenges to my one legged friend but the receptionist was helpful in arranging taxis when needed. Breakfast is an option but clearly provided on an exception basis - we got the impression that they ordered it in if you did opt for it. This is not a problem as the rooms have self catering facilities and there are plenty of cafes nearby. The room/apartment was spacious and comfortable with a veranda. Customers were advised to keep noise down after 10.00pm. To be fair we were probably the noisiest residents but we did notice we could hear people in other rooms in the morning - so no real problem but shhhh late at night. This was our annual trip to seek out new beers(try La Tireuse) in places beginning with B - this was an ideal base.
We stayed at this complex early September for a week. We were on a self catering basis and although there was only two of us the apartment had a small second bedroom which housed bunk beds which became very useful for storage purposes. We got off to a bad start as the WI FI was out which we really needed to communicate easily with our daughter who was staying a ten minute walk away. It was out for three days but they handled my moans very well and even gave us a bottle of Moet despite the problem not being their fault. The pots, pans, cups plates etc were plentiful and we had an oven ,two hot plates,a microwave and a toaster. There was a coffee filter machine (bring your own paper filters) and a kettle. We asked for a hairdryer and that was no problem The reception staff were very polite and were a credit to the hotel. We had a garden view which was away from the noise of the street and there are notices for guests to curtail noise afer 10 pm. On the whole this was adhered to and as my daughters apartment suffered from noise problems, we were grateful that our complex did not. Breakfast was available for 10 Euros a person but we always had our breakfast on a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The hotel was very well appointed with only a five minute walk to the fantasic Biarritz market (Les Halles) which sold all kinds of foods and had a seperate section for fresh fish. A supermarket was just at the back of the market so food was never a problem. The Grand Plage was a eight minute walk away and the small beach in a little bay was about a ten minute walk away. The surfing beach was no longer than 15 minutes away. All the beaches were great and totally different. We asked for a late check out and we were lucky that this was no problem Overall a very enjoyable stay with our wifi problem resolved entirely to our satisfaction. This is our second visit to Biarritz and would not hesitate booking this hotel if we came back for a third time
