OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi - All Inclusive with Free Transfers
4/5 Good
"We had a fantastic two-week stay overall! Staff: Extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Niya, Rasheed and Riza for their excellent service. Food: Fantastic variety, great atmosphere and plenty of seating. Even 30 minutes before closing, all dishes were available and replenished. Rooms & Pool: Clean, spacious rooms with plenty of storage. The pool is huge, with plenty of sunbeds and towels. Entertainment: Daytime activities were great, particularly the foam party and Aqua Zumba. The fire show was fantastic. Evening entertainment was less impressive. The stage above the bar doesn't create a lively atmosphere, and it's a shame that such talented singers are limited to a repetitive selection of 80s and 90s songs. Snorkelling (2/5): Our biggest disappointment. Being a relatively new man-made island, the reef is still developing, with only tiny patches of living coral. Marine life was limited; we struggled to spot sharks or rays and didn't see any turtles. After three snorkelling attempts, we gave up, quite bad given a 2-week stay. As an experienced freediver and scuba diver, I had higher expectations. Neighbouring natural Bandos Island has considerably more established coral and marine life. Hopefully, the reef will recover over the coming years. Overall (4/5): Excellent food, staff and facilities. A great resort for relaxation, but if snorkelling and marine life are a priority, consider a natural island with an established reef."
