Clean and modern rooms with air con made it easy to cool down after walking around the city. The location was great as not too close to las ramblas (so not overpriced) but in walking distance to many places - for example we walked to Sagrada Família which took about half an hour. Rooms were a little small but didn’t really matter as they were just a place to sleep/cool off in. We arranged to have breakfast included which was a buffet style spread of pastries, fruit, cereals, cheeses, hams and bread with the option of hot food as well. Staff all very helpful and we were given a map that had recommended places to visit/eat at marked on.
It is a quarkey place, very relax atmosphere .. Staff are very friendly and helpful, room is small but adequate. Would definitely recommend this place has a meeting place and a happy hour everyday. Also breakfast is available, and dinner every night if you want.
We loved our stay at Yurbban Trafalgar! It was clean and modern and central to everything. We could walk to the shops, aquarium and beach. Wifi and air con great, pool has a nice view over the city. Drinks at rooftop bar expensive but nice, however the boys working the bar weren’t very polite so most of the times we chose to have a drink elsewhere. There are plenty of places in walking distance that had cheap drinks though. The girls working reception and the restaurant were happy and lovely! Happy hour with complimentary wine and cheese was an awesome addition!! I recommend this place, it was a great stay!
This was my first trip to Barcelona, and this hotel was recommended by the conference I attended. I am VERY happy with Yurrban Trafalgar. Everything was absolutely first rate! The staff is kind and incredibly helpful. They greeted me warmly when I arrived and made sure I had everything I needed. I stayed in the “tiny” room for solo travelers, which was lovely, not really tiny at all, and very clean. The Catalan breakfast is a daily feast and the dinner is exquisite - something to try at least once! There is a small pool and terrace for snacks and cocktails which I also thoroughly enjoyed. Best of all, you are close to everything in the center of Barcelona. I will definitely be back !!!
Pros: - This is a very clean, modern hotel in a residential neighborhood location where one can walk to many popular attractions and public transit. - The king bedding is comfortable. - There is sufficient closet space and a safe is provided. - Rooms have free wi-fi. - There is plenty of hot water and good water pressure. - We noticed no noise from other guest rooms, the street, or the roof-top bar and pool which was located immediately above our room. - The room and bath are equipped with designer fixtures. - Although it wasn’t included in our rate, breakfast is available in a good-sized lobby dining room. - Although small, our room did not feel confining. - The luxurious, absorbent bath towels were the best I ever experienced in any hotel. - The large bathroom had a unique glassed-in design. - The youthful staff members were extremely friendly and helpful, and fluent in English. - There is a free laundry room with one washer and one (very slow) dryer. - A free “happy hour” is offered in the lobby with free wine and cheese. - The roof-top bar and pool offered beautiful views of Barcelona in a quiet atmosphere. Cons: - For two guests, the room is on the small size. There was only one luggage stand and our second suitcase had to be placed on the desk. . - Only one small uncomfortable desk chair is provided. - The décor of the room is very dark. - Wash cloths would have been appreciated. - The hotel was a bit on the expensive side.
Excellent front desk staff..directed us to a great (reasonable) restaurant within walking distance. Loved the nightly cheese and wine reception for all guests and the top of the roof relaxation area with great views of the city
The tourist area for Barcelona is obviously large. In my opinion, the location of this hotel puts you in the center of everything you'll want to visit on a tourist stay in this wonderful city. Obviously you want to walk everywhere when you are in Barcelona and this location allows that to any of the top attractions you want to see (Sagrada Familia, Ramblas, etc.) The hotel is very modern and upscale and very chick. You'll see funny/interesting quotes all over the hotel that tells you the place pays attention to all the details. The room we stayed in was small but up to day with every amenity needed. It was clean and provided the quiet nights we needed after the hustle of the city. Rooftop pool/area is fairly small so if you want to get a chair, they open at 10am and goes until late. I did see a bar area but it wasn't open when I went up there. The views from here are incredible, the pictures defiantly do it justice. My favorite part (mostly because I like to drink) was the wine o'clock they have in the lobby everyday in the evening (I believe 6-7pm or 6:30-7:30pm) where they share some local wines along with the snacks for the guests staying at the hotel. They do have to drink in the very comfortable lobby and will not allow you to take off to your room/roof. Instead, mingle with other hotels guests for an hour and then be on your merry way. I've seen this at other hotels before and I am clearly a huge fan of it. Overall, great stay. Check in/out was seamless. I didn't try the dining/breakfast but I am sure it would have been. Highly recommended for couples to use as a home base in Barcelona.
The personnel is nice, welcoming and helpful and the place is clean. But... I'm sorry to say that it's way way too expensive for what it is... The accent is on a hyper-stylish design, unfortunately at the cost of comfort. The rooms are very small with uncomfortable disposition and no place to put your stuff. I must be totally unsophisticated and basic but I find an all black/dark style a little off-track in Sunny Barcelona. Everything in the hotel is so black and dark that it's impossible to even see the numbers on the elevator buttons... The gym is very basic with 1 trailer and 1 elliptic, but no way to see any button because it's so hyper-stylishly dark in there... They lend bicycle but the ones that were there when I checked were all out of order... To sum up, it would have been tolerable if the price was 1/3 of what it does.
We spent 5 nights at the Yurbban Trafalgar in late May 2019. We loved many things about this hotel: - the staff are young, friendly and eager to help. - the rooftop pool and bar area is great, the views amazing. - happy hour with free wine and sangria was a nice touch, and an opportunity to swap travel stories with other guests - the room was minimalist and quite small, but quiet for sleeping with a comfy bed. Room size may be an issue if you travel with a lot of luggage. - the staff are all young, friendly and helpful. - providing a portable wifi device is a nice touch, but you need to pick one up first thing in the morning before they are all signed out. - we loved the location, on the edge of the Gotic quarter, and near many restaurants and key sights, but on a relatively quiet street. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Yurbban Trafalgar.
