This was an OK experience. The hotel is just basic, room was OK but clean that's for sure. Breakfast probably just above average, and staff were friendly but very very slow- the check-in process on Sunday evening took ages before getting the key.
This hotel was originally chosen for its price but we soon discovered it was a reasonable walk to both the beach and Sagrada Familia. Later we discovered it was close to a fantastic group of bars and the largest nightclub in Barcelona. All round a great hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms.
We stayed here for 3 nights in October. The hotel was lovely and the service was good. The hotel is close to the metro station but it is a little off the beaten trail. I would have liked it to be a closer to restaurants ,etc. The neighbourhood is a bit seedy. We did not eat there as it was quite pricey. There did seem to be a lot of extras.... We paid $15E to check in early, the hotel advertised itself as having an airport shuttle but they would only take you from the hotel not pick you up and there was a charge for that too.
Went on a three night break to Barcelona and stayed here. Very happy with my choice of this hotel. Good location, easy stroll to the beach, easy route into the main city. The room was lovely as well as the bathroom and was cleaned immaculately daily. Although the best thing about the hotel is the staff. All the staff that were there went above and beyond helped us with directions, drew us out routes on maps that they provided and always greeted us with a warmly welcome every time we entered the lobby. Through out the stay our phone charger broke and they happily leant us one they had behind the desk and let us keep it till checkout. LIFE SAVERS!! Excellent overall experience. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Barcelona and doesn’t mind a nice little walk into the city/beach!
Once arrived there it was given me another room than booked, with the promise that it will be changed as fast as possible. The windows in the room do not open, you always have to call someone each time you want to open the window. The area where the hotel is located is an industrial, ugly area. Subway is close though. Besides the receptionists, no one speaks english, but the staff is ok. Front desk people do not know (or don't want to know) if taxi drivers charge you for bags or not.
The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. The breakfast was excellent - never seen such a spread in a mid-range hotel! Lifts are very unreliable. Hotel staff were pleasant. The only major downside is the location - it is about a 15 minute walk from the nearest metro or bus station which is not too bad and the beach is about a 20 minute walk away, however the area around the hotel itself is absolutely dead! No restaurants, shops, cafes...or basically any signs of life and a lot of the buildings appear to have been abandoned for years. It was especially unnerving walking back at night from the city.
The staff were friendly and always willing to help and advise on place to go and how to get there. Good location near to transport links. There was a lovely beach which was 15 min walk from the hotel.
Do not leave anything out in your room. Lock everything in the safe box. The staffs were not unfriendly but not very welcoming. The location is certainly a positive as it is close to public transportation and a nice shopping/eating/walking area.
we have been in this Hotel for 4 nights. totally it is a good hotel. our room was so small and it had a bad view as it was in the first floor so we didn't open the curtain at all! the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. we were satisfied with room service. the access of hotel is not good and it is a little far away from bus and metro station. so you need to walk a lot if you want to go to the different part of city. the price of breakfast was expensive (about 18 euros) so we didn't try it. for our next visit of Barcelona we wouldn't choose this hotel again.
Arriving late at night our taxi drove past the hotel entrance and had to back back. The one girl on reception was helpful but there was no help with the bags. The area outside was dark and had no shops etc. The bar was closed although there were soft drinks and some bottles of wine on sale at very high prices. The room was on the first floor and there were 2 small lifts (should contain 6 people, what a joke we were squashed as 2 people with 2 cases). The room was smallish with no paintings on the walls except a long strip on the wall above the bed hiding lighting. The desk lamp blew its globe as soon as we turned it on. The bed had not been locked into place and kept sliding forward until my husband got down and put the legs into some sort of lock. There was a long hair on one pillow. The electric plug on the wall gave a huge spark when I plugged my laptop in. Breakfast was good, a reasonable variety of fruit and scrambled eggs, bacon and baked beans with the usual pastries etc. Checkout was 12noon which was good. The bathroom was clean, the whole room area was modern but lacked soul. We would not stay here again, not at $AU270 a night. Staff at the desk the following morning were pleasant but it's certainly not a 5 star hotel.
