Really enjoyed staying at the Melia Barcelona. Make sure you get the LEVEL option as it really makes your stay that much more enjoyable. Great location if you are wanting to be close to the magic fountain and a few other locations.
Fantastic hotel with exceptional customer service. The staff was very helpful and the hotel is 5 star. Clean rooms, great service and good food. The location of the hotel is good and in a central area between the airport and old town.
Overall, the hotel was excellent. The room was clean although one day by late afternoon our room had still not been cleaned so we had to call and a maid was sent up quickly. Also, we cOuld not figure out how to unlock the safe so a hotel staff person came up to show us. Several other people in our tour group reported the same problem. The breakfast. Jeffry was superb. But the pool was a big disappointment. You should not advertise the availability of a pool when it is in fact a small wading pool and swimming is impossible. Very misleading. Despite tis, the hotel experience was still excellent.
Furniture falling apart, dirty worn out carpet and partially broken shower. This was not a room of a 5* hotel, maybe 2 or 3 stars. Good location for business, but relatively far away from the main tourist attractions.
When we got to the Melia Sarria the first impression was of a large business people type of hotel until we were guided to the "Level" and and everything changed. The treatment was very personal, warm and professional the agent greet us right away with a smile while the waiter treat us to a courtesy glass of wine (we arrived at the right happy hour time) I requested a room upgrade and the gave me a large suite with a spectacular view in the 18th floor (I pay a little additional for his room). The location of the hotel excellent in a very good and posh part of the city close to restaurants and shops and very close to the hop on hop off bus stop (that I also recommend). The only area that the hotel disappoint me a little was in the restaurant it got a cafeteria feeling with danish furniture that did not impress me at all but other than that the whole experience was a very good one. I want to mention Hugo and Milos in the Level they were incredible with us . I very highly recommended.
Stayed a week for meetings. Nice location, close to the Diagonal and easy to move around the city. Rooms are very quiet, nicely laid out. A little tired on decor - the kettle leaked / the show leaked / the sink leaked. Main hotel areas nicely laid out. Staff were good - esp in getting taxis in the morning. Found the breakfast room too claustrophobic - low ceiling, tables very close together - so retreated to the nearby Starbucks for breakfast. Gym is open 24 hours, very small, but at least it was open. Would stay again for business.
We paid for an upgrade and had a lovely room with a good view. The room was quiet, cool and comfortable and the bathroom was great - loved the whirlpool bath and separate shower. Plenty of choice at breakfast and the cheese and meat tapas in the evening were very good, if rather pricey. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in Sarria, rather than Barcelona, but public transport is excellent, including from the airport.
Very nice hotel, comfortable bedding and nice atmosphere. Right on one Main Street but a bit of a walk from the downtown core (it can be done, took me about 50 minutes or a 10ish euro cab ride). Would stay here again.
Stayed here for four nights. First impression was good with the friendly reception staff. Nice scent in the foyer which seemed like a welcome at the end of each of my working day in Barcelona. Room towards the top of the building was quite dark and dull - though the view from it was pretty special. The rooms is in need of updating - thankfully I never spent time there except to sleep. Staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Was unimpressed by my stay at Melia Barcelona Sarria. The layout is badly conceived. Lots of corridors, lots of doors, and no real space to feel good in. I had to work late on a project from my room, and had to use the mini-bar as a table, which is not practical at all. I appreciated the offered pringles, though.
