Excellent hotel with great focus on service. This was our first visit to Barcelona and the people on the front desk gave us great advice regarding where to go and what to do. The location is good if you want to jump on the bus.
We loved our time at the Melia Barcelona Sarria. From the moment we encountered the helpful and friendly staff, well-versed in English, we knew we had a great place for our 2 days in Barcelona. We informed the staff we were on our honeymoon and without hesitation they upgraded our room and provided a lovely welcome treat in our room when we arrived back from our day of touring.
From the moment we arrived, jet lagged and missing a nights sleep, the staff at the Level were excellent. Even though we were before check in time they went out of their way to make us comfortable and found us a room as soon as they could. This great service was there for our entire 6 days at the hotel. I can't comment on the rest of the hotel since booking a room on the Level gave us access to the executive lounge and all the little goodies associated with that, breakfast, snacks and "happy hour" with open bar, a good way to start an evening in Barcelona. The only down side if you call it that, is a 10 min walk to the Metro, but with the food etc. that was probably a good thing! Not in a tourist area but the Metro and taxis (if you don't want to walk) gets you into the thick of it in no time.
The Melia in Barcelona is very modern and exceptionally clean. Our accommodations were excellent, and unlike most Spanish hotels, there was actually a coffee maker in our room! Very modern elevators which were also very quiet.
We stayed here for three nights and from the start it is the staff that makes this hotel. Everyone from reception to housekeeping were friendly and helpful. You could not fault the service they give. The breakfast is fantastic and we had dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely. The bedrooms were a bit disappointing, they are worn and dated and could do with upgrading. The hotel is in a good location and would definitely return
This hotel hits all the buttons, luxurious at a great price! Indulge in the breakfast it's not to be missed. Location is excellent just round the corner from the hop on bus tour, gray shopping, really good restaurants all around
This Hotel makes the best of a large scale 20+ story position. It has great sized rooms, all the facilities you'd expect from a business focused Hotel. Staff (all) are particularly helpful - English is very good, which really helps many. Only comment is WiFi is not as fast as it could be, but it is free.
In general - it's a good hotel. Great location (I always stay close to L'illa Diagonal shopping mall), service. Got upgraded to The Level room. Honestly, expected more. Looked like a standard room. Maybe a bit larger. The room was a bit worn out. Liked the level lounge though. Unfortunately, spa was closed due to the maintenance works, so couldn't go there. What I was furious about- is the alarm clock in the room. Someone switched it on (suppose, it was the previous guest). So, it started ringing at 8am and did it every 15 minutes till I gave up. I just couldn't switch it off. It was working even when cut it off the socket lol. It was very important for me to get enough of sleep as I had my flight that day. My advice to the hotel would be to check electronic devices settings.
The hotel was more than I expected. The room was clean, the bathroom was amazing, a jacuzzi bath of which I had twice a day. A good space for your clothes. The only thing needed was more english channels on the television. Overall a really nice hotel.
We stayed 2 nites at the Melia Barcelona and 2 sites at another '5 star' hotel in Barcelona. 5 star in Barcelona, or Spain for that matter is not the same as 5 star in Paris, London, or NY. it is more fairly a 4 star on those scales. Location: within 1/2 block of Diagonal ave (major street) with bus and tram access. Room quality: good; A/C could have been better. 24 hr. fitness room. breakfast buffet good.
- Close to Casa Mila
