Lovely hotel with all rooms as suites. Almost feel you are sleeping on the beach as all rooms are so close. Lovely Caribean decor, simple but chic with a great sitting room, outside balcony and large bathroom. Staff are the best, delightful and attentive with many staff having been there for years. The sundeds on the beach and poolside are excellent with beach towels and waiter service. Complimentary fruit and iced towels were a lovely touch. Breakfast and all food in the reaturant was lovely with views out over the pool and ocean.Very well situated, being close to evrywhere with a short taxi ride. The small, clublike atmosphere made for a great relaxing stay.
A long time 32 years but although we have visited barbados regularly over the last 15 years and had lunch here most times this was an 11 night say . we found the "suites " pool or sea view a little small for us so chose the wonderfully named hemingway suite a very large suite of rooms with a large covered terrace large lounge and bathroom - someone mentioned that the late michael winner stayed here whilst the sandy lane was refurbed some years ago-we could imagine this . The staff are what makes the hotel richard in the bar, all the restaurant staff and the beach guys - we like the breakfasts and lunches - a word for the spicy gazpacho the excellent flying fish , blackened fish (mahi mahi !!) and burger with the very best crispy chips on the isl;and. Dinner was less attractive in the too brightly lit restaurant - a bit of a downer but - and I guess most people would not realise this - next door at the tamarind cove a very short walk there is life , music often , very good service and good food- we frequently went there . The group that owns this the elegant hotel group - has just bought the treasure beach as another reviewer has said lets hope they keep what is charming about treasure beach - the staff - whilst upgrading the facilities. Look forward to seeing it next year-incidentally the setting with that large mahogany tree in the middle framing the sea view is magical .
What a great location, on beautiful Paynes Bay, where the fluffy white sand and the clear blue sea conspire to make this a recipe for a great holiday. We loved the traditional feel to the rooms, and the ample space that they offer, with great views.... and we particularly liked the fruit kebabs and ice cold towels which are brought to your sunbed every day.....a lovely touch. A very friendly and welcoming team, where Wayne and Ozzie in the al fresco diner have always got a story for you, and where Baker ensures that you 'keep cool' on the sunbed. There is loads to do on the west coast of Barbados, and the hotel is ideally placed to be able to visit the variety of eateries and bars that are on offer.
My first time to the Caribbean and I think I found paradise! Two weeks at Treasure Beach and I could easily have stayed longer. The staff are amazing - all so friendly, helpful & accommodating. The dining staff Wayne, Kevin, Richard, David & Likita plus Rico & Baker at the beach - thank you all. Plus Camille who with a friendly smile ensured guests were happy As my Dad had a special birthday, we were given upgraded rooms which were beautiful We had half board which could be a little repetitive but the chefs happily altered meals if we asked and all was delicious. There are wonderful restaurants that are easy to get to if you fancy eating out. The hotel is right by the beach and the sea a delight to swim in I felt Jason, the Manager, to be dismissive , but that didn't spoil what was otherwise a holiday I will cherish with great memories. Who knows, maybe I will get to return! The hotel was being taken over by new owners when we left. I do hope they look after the great staff that are there and will not alter the hotel too much to take away it's present ambience
We recently got married at treasure beach and then stayed for an extra week a few days afterwards for our honeymoon. The entire staff was amazing and great at helping us to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff made sure the wedding went smoothly and helped us get everything in order to go and sign the papers in Bridgetown. We were able to Facebook live the ceremony to people back at home and the wifi connection worked great just off the beach where the ceremony took place. When we arrived a couple days later to check in for our honeymoon the general manager had upgraded our room free of charge. We greatly appreciated this and had an amazing week. I would definitely recommend treasure beach to anyone looking to get married in Barbados. We had 27 guests with us and they ensured that everyone had a seat. They are a small and very relaxing place to stay. The food and drinks at the restaurant and bar were great as well. We will be returning the future for sure! Thank you to everyone at treasure Beach!
Second visit, knew what to expect and not disappointed. Better location than some big names and small enough to be considered exclusive. Jason, general manager, and his team provide excellent service and strive to help you with everything you ask. Close to some fantastic restaurants, max 20 bucks in cab, the beach is a little slice of paradise within a few short steps of your room. Would recommend to anyone. Thank to Jason and his team for another great relaxing holiday
the hotel was all we hoped for , there was an intimate and friendly atmosphere , with a colonial feel . the beach was on our doorstep , we only had to walk across the garden. the pool is not large but well , but well big enough to cool off in and swim . There was plenty to choose from for breakfast , lunch and dinner were al a cart. the 36 suites were well appointed , a sitting room with access to the balcony where you are allowed to enjoy a smoke. Huge king sized bed , watch out for the over head fan , there is also AC The rooms were cleaned every day and the towels changed. Room service is served at no extra charge.the staff are very helpful indeed.
A big shout out to the wonderful and friendly Staff at this lovely hotel. You all made our stay very pleasurable, nothing was too much trouble for you, your service was given with a big smile and you genuinely cared for your guests. The warmest of welcomes from Sabrina, Kenneth and Carmel, the king of the cocktails and rum punches Richard, the fabulous Lekita (hope I have spelt it correctly) and happy happy Rico require a particular mention. Not forgetting Mr Banks and Mr Walks and the attendance of Kevin, David and the Chefs; many many thanks to you all. You are all working under trying circumstances never failing to provide your services professionally and generously. Can't say enough about this hotel. We do sincerely hope that the new owners retain the uniqueness of the Treasure Beach; just giving it the freshness and tweaks that it needs. We will be watching that space for developments and will certainly return if Treasure Beach remains the Treasure Beach as we know it. Marvellous! From A & G Portsmouth
Subject: Treasure Beach Location: Saint James Parish, Barbados, Caribbean, North America Title: Our home from home in the Caribbean ID#: 481193251 We first stayed at Treasure Beach in 1982 when the hotel was owned by Charles and Mary Ward. We have been back most years since then and we have always had wonderful holidays there. We have just returned from our latest trip having enjoyed yet another excellent stay. Other reviews have dealt with the setting, location and general ambiance so no further comment is needed from me. However on 1st May we understand that the hotel was sold to Elegant Hotels who own a number of other properties on the island. One of the key reasons for our returning so frequently has been the staff, a number of whom have been there for many years, who are fantastic in every respect. Whilst the hotel itself would benefit from renovation and updating it is to be hoped that the character and atmosphere do not change and that the majority of the staff are retained. We await developments with interest and a certain trepidation.
We stayed here a couple of nights before going home. The hotel is in a really lovely location with a lovely pool located straight on the beach. Upon arrival we were offered a drink and cool towel, very welcome. The room as you first enter you think may need a little refurbishing but once you see the view and the bedroom you are blown away. The bed is huge the bathroom fabulous with two sinks, shower and bath. The air conditioning works fabulously, there is a safe and WI FI included in the price, there is coffee/tea making facilities and a fridge. The breakfast is beautiful with everything you need and the staff are so very, very friendly. The one thing we found a little bit of a pain is the fact you have to wear long trousers to dinner and we have come from the chilled lay back area of St Lawrence Gap. It stopped us going to the restaurant on the first night saying that the staff are so lovely especially Richard, the barman. As it was a little pricey for our budget around the area, we went to the Clay Pot which opened two weeks ago and had a lovely, lovely pizza and lots of beers, that is out of the hotel and turn right. If you are looking to extend your family go to Nancy's out the hotel turn right then left at the petrol station and up about 200 yards, the best fish, chicken, rice and beans and salad we have had. Such lovely, lovely people, you may need to reserve a table, it was so traditional. The beach is gorgeous and the staff put the sunbeds out for you and umbrellas and come around with a cool towel and later fruit kebabs and iced water. A really lovely relaxing end to the holiday. Thank you everyone for making us feel so welcome
