Nice folks. Took good care of us.

What a great solace to stay!! This was a beautiful 200 year old home turned into a hotel. Loved everything about our stay! We immediately felt welcomed by Dan and felt at home. Thanks for an awesome experience. Highly recommend for anyone that enjoys feeling like you’ve stepped into another era. If we’re ever visiting Maine again, we will definitely be choosing to stay here!

Sorta cheap, but pretty low quality. So many bugs and spiders everywhere. Felt pretty grody.

Loved the quaintness of staying in a 200 house with wood floors. Loved the common areas and the scenic setting. Internet was sketchy and wifi almost nonexistent in my room. No breakfast. No food or drink allowed in room. But check in was easy and no staff was on?site.

Perfect little cottages close to the park with a super-friendly staff.

Very rustic and Maine cabin campy - I'm not a fancy guy really enjoyed the atmosphere - laid back

I like the kitchen, and not too far from the attractions/ park. We are 5 including 3 kids. Overall satisfied. Stayed for 3 days.

unique cottage experience, super cute.

My husband and I stayed here the nights before and after our wedding. It was the perfect little getaway, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, but close enough to visit and hit the National Park. We loved the feel of the inn. Having a personal living room was perfect for a relaxing stay after the big day. We will one hundred percent come back! The muffins and coffee in the morning was a plus.

Easy check in, very comfortable room after I got used to not bumping my head on the Cape ceiling in the guest suite.

Friendly staff. Even went out of their way to store luggage in office when had to check out at 10:00, but unable to leave area until 3:00. Then staff member drove me to airport. Great people!

Nice staff. Great muffins in the AM. The rooms are a little dated, but very clean.

Cozy, rustic cabins with a Hot Springs jacuzzi in a porch setting. Close to Island Explorer bus service which provides free transportation to all parts of the Island and Acadia Park. The most genial hostess of the Inn provides delicious muffins and coffee and tea every morning. She also advises activities and directions for entertainment and other interests.

This is a good location for visiting Acadia National Park. The hotel is conveniently located and the rooms are clean. The homemade muffins for breakfast were delicious! Highly recommend.

Inn has small cozy cabins. Cabin rooms are tiny but clean. The inn is right next to the highway and eateries. Would stay there again when we visit Maine next time.

I booked this hotel sight unseen as my rental was not ready yet in Bar Harbor. I stayed in one of the B and B rooms, though I also asked to see the cabins. The rooms were quite lovely and well decorated, the B and B room was actually two rooms with a separate TV room with the bathroom off of it. It was near the road but there was an AC to muffle noise at night if needed. The owner I met was a lovely woman who was very helpful and glad to show me different rooms. Overall this is a cut above the average "motel by the road" and I was very impressed.

The room was close to the read and you could hear the traffic

Older, but very clean and comfortable suite (did not stay in a cottage). Good value for the price. Ann welcomed us warmly and was very helpful with info about free, public transportation into Bar Harbor and restaurant recommendation. Homemade muffins every morning for breakfast. We also spent a night at the neighboring Isleview Motel and Cottages. The Isleview works in a pinch (it was clean), but I would recommend the OHI if it is available.

Pros: Very clean and spacious. Lodge B had a mini fridge, microwave, king size bed, futon, TV and spacious bathroom. Grounds and Jacuzzi also very clean. The owners were very kind and fresh baked muffins and coffee were provided every morning. Close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park without being right downtown. Would definitely recommend and stay again! Cons: WiFi was a little spotty at times, otherwise no complaints.

Not sure what we did wrong to deserve only 3 star review. Since the guest mentioned that we took good care of them. Leaving a 3 star review hurts every business and not leaving an explanation hurts it even more.

Aloha!! Sorry you had issue with the internet! We have a powerful ubiquity wifi mesh system and several routing points. This is a first we've heard of any internet issues this year and I wish we would have known prior to the review phase so we can troubleshoot! Not sure what you mean about no staff on site. Dan, Mels, Danielle and Mindi are always buzzing around not to mention Midnight the black lab who's our famous mascot. Few other things for our next guests. We do not mind food or drinks in the rooms at all. Our Inn is a place of comfort and relaxation.. We know that food and drink are important when it comes to those things  . We do discourage "food fights" lol but you can surely have a massive food party out by the BBQ / Griddle / Lobster Bistro on the back deck! We are sorry we couldn't earn full 5 stars but potentially you were on a different wifi network and misunderstood the house rules? There are coffee mugs and coffee in every room + snacks in the lobby. It almost feels like you didn't truly stay at our inn but wandered into another place! We truly wish we could have spoken to you and sorted out any issues prior to this review phase. Please give us another try. We would love to make your next experience at Open Hearth Inn 10 stars!!! Mahalo from Mindi, Mels, Danielle, Midnight and Dan.
