This place has a lot of potential but needs some work. Cabin 17 has a very strong mildew odor. The key for the door doesn't work properly. The first key wouldn't open the door, and the second key required spending 5-10 minutes trying to jiggle the key to get the door unlocked. The temperatures were in 50f-60f range during our visit, and bathroom was cold. There is a HVAC Split in Main Room, but its install location makes the corner of the room really hot, and the rest of cabin considerabl

Wanted to like it, but not worth the price

Stayed in cabin 9. Room was clean, but the hot tub was digusting with a layer of brown slime. The hot tub didn’t get very hot and apparently was put into sleep mode by prior occupants. Fixed, once I complained the next night, but only got one night of use out of 3. The bed was very uncomfortable on one side because there were no supports due to a trundle bed underneath. First night we froze as there were no instructions on how to turn the heat on. Poor communication overall. Water pressure was weak and you had to run the water for 20 minutes before it got hot enough to shower. Very expensive for what you get, stay at a reputable hotel instead.

Close but pretty quiet

We have a newly remodeled cottage and it was very nice and clean! The staff we encountered were friendly. The roads on property were a bit rough but at lease the cottage we stayed in was lovely and would stay there again. Only about a 5-10 min drive into bar harbor and about 10-17 min from Acadia national park.

I accidentally booked a room that was not pet friendly, they made the transition to a pet friendly room simple and quick! There was so much room for my husband and I, and our 2 dogs! The location was perfect.

Hinckleys was just what we needed as a base camp for pur Acadia Adventure. Less than a 5 minute drive to the visitor center and 10 minutes to downtiwn bar harbor. Checkin was a breeze. Amenities were fully sticked in the room upon arrival. Im unsure if the hot tub was properly cleaned because it had an algae smell on the 2nd night. Also, the driveways are all gravel and the site has a lot of potholes so beware of your tires! Overall a greta stay and would recommend for families.

I absolutely loved the renovated cottage number 7 I stayed in! The shower was amazing and the private hot tub on the back deck was so relaxing! The guy at the front desk was very pleasant as well…..I will definitely stay again next year :)

Dog friendly cabins near Bar Harbor

A very dog friendly venue, which was a key consideration in my selection. The cabins are fine. While near a main road road (Rt 3), the traffic noise was not bad. The kitchen/dining area was pretty small, but fine for simple food prep. There were outdoor grills and tables ( which we didn’t use). As a base to go to the park and into Bar Harbor for meals, it worked out well. There was space to walk the dog around near the cabins under the trees, on the grass and in some small wooded areas. The property is undergoing some upgrades ( as of Sept 2025).

Cute, clean cabin with extra linens and blankets. Very clean kitchen and bathroom. The only downside is the driveway is rough as others have mentioned, and our cabin was a little hard to park by due to a large tree stump. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Pricing and location were excellent.

Very nostalgic. The cabins reminded me of my youth in the 70's and my travels back then. The cabin we were in leaned to one side. Issues with TV and remote. Overall was nice except for the nonstop rain (not their fault). We would probably go back.

Older, but well kept cabins. Newly renovated bathroom was nice. Kitchen was small. Close to the main road into Bar Harbor so traffic noise could be an issue if you’re not used to it. Pool was not open as it was being renovated. Fire pit was propane not real wood. Staff was helpful even though they would not budge on the the pet fee. Expedia listed the room as pet friendly with no mention of an additional fee, but they insisted on charging $35 per night or $100 flat fee for a 12 lb, non-shedding cockapoo.

The Cabin was nice, looks recently remodeled. But a few things need attention. Lighting wasn't working quite right, TV's weren't as well. Overall a Nice little place and pretty close to Bar Harbor.
