We had notified this “hotel” a week before staying that we’d be arriving in the very early hours of he morning after a 15 hour trip from Koh Tao. Upon arrival at 4am, we were rudely told we’d have to pay for a whole night to enter the room now or wait in the lobby until 2pm. Though there was no-one actually staying in our room, apparently this was the policy and we’d either have to pay or wait until the 2pm check in time, despite already telling them in advance of our early arrival, which they had specifically said they understood and would be able to assist. By assist, we now know they of course meant, ‘assist’ in either taking our money or allowing us to wait in the lobby until 2pm. They would expect a whole nights pay, with no one even staying in our room and at 4am in the morning all the way up until 2. You also get charged however much you paid to cancel, so we were therefore unable to stay somewhere else without nevertheless being charged. Certainly not a place that prides itself on service of any kind whatsoever, and I’d highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere. Furthermore, you would definitely be able to find somewhere else better for the price we paid, water leaks from the ceiling, the photos nowhere near match the reality and they ask for a 1500 baht deposit amongst other things. Given this would be their 83rd ‘terrible’ review, it’s safe to say you should find somewhere else to stay, and if you’re reading this you made the smart decision of checking reviews first unlike myself, clearly.

Rooms are okay for the price. Shower had hot water and toilet is okay, little bit dirty perhaps. Shower sewer wasnt working so great so water stays on the floor. Hotel wifi is USELESS. Like we werent able to send a single whatsapp message in 3 days. Customer service depends on who sits on the reception. Some hotel servants doesnt seem to be interest about the customer service at all. Also we didnt want to use the swimming pool because there were rats near the swimming pool. Overall the look of the swimming pool was ugly. Plus from the location. Its very near from the khao san road and the big temples and kings palace. But if you plan to go to the scyscaper area the trip takes about 30-60min depending of the traffic. And getting to the hotel from the airport is quite hard with public transport so you might use public transport + taxi/tuk tuk.
I was expecting the worst but it wasn't too bad. Location good if you want to be near khao San road. Rooms have aircon and a safe however my safe didn't work. Bathroom not great more like a toilet and a shower on the wall makes me feel a bit sick thinking about it but did the job. Pool basic didn't swim in it as didn't look too clean.
The Wile Orchid Villa is an excellent and very affordable choice if you want to be close to the excitement of Khao San Road without the noise of all the bars and music. The hotel is very clean with a nice restaurant in the lobby with wooden elephant chairs! The rooms we stayed in were quite small and the beds were quite hard, but after walking around a lot on little sleep, we still slept fine.
After reading reviews before hand, we knew it wouldn’t be great but it was actually worse than we thought...plenty of other places to stay in Bangkok! The reviews all typically same the same things so management really need to take them on board before their ratings plummet. The worst part was that it was SO noisy. Don’t expect to get much sleep. The noise travelled floor to floor and walls were so thin you could hear everything, even next doors a/c being turned on. Cleaners were so loud in the morning too, shouting to each other in Thai down the corridors. The room and hotel, away from the main restaurant/bar, was super run down and could do with some TLC to make it more enjoyable and better to look at. Toilets and showers are combined which isn’t ideal as so many people share it (my partner found a poo on the toilet seat in the morning!!) and they don’t accommodate to that at all so no shelves or hooks anywhere- everything gets soaked. Food was okay but most staff aren’t very smiley or attentive. Pool was fine, bit shabby, but fine. Deposit for room is 1,500 baht which isn’t said anywhere, or you leave your passport. They don’t appear to trust guests. Location was decent. Put a bit more effort in guys before everyone goes elsewhere!
I have stayed in budget hotels around the world and this was the worst one I've ever stayed in. The shared bathrooms weren't on every level, they did not have toilet paper or soap. There was no hot water, but this didn't really matter as the whole hotel was a sweat box, including the bathrooms. The room I stayed in was as small as a walk in closet. It was roughly 190cm x 170cm. I could barely open my suit case in the room. The walls were paper thin so on the first night I hardly slept. The restaurant staff were rude. The waitress needed my plate which had my milk and sugar on it. I had placed my used teabag on the teaspoon on this plate. When the waitress needed this place, she picked up the plate and through the teabag at me and it landed on my arm while I was eating breakfast. The rest of the service was slow and they all seemed miserable. The up side of this hotel is that it is in an excellent location and the breakfast is pretty good.
The hotel is cheap and cheerful enough but our room had no window which made it really disorientating especially when waking up in the morning to the pitch black. The restaurant is clean and comfortable we did see a rat on the last day and for some reason a staff member tried to hit it with her shoe?! However the rat lives on...
Not a great experience here. Poor service at the front desk, took ages to check in and the lady couldn't explain the delay to me even though I had booked way in advance, just kept me waiting for 20 minutes. On top of that I had to pay a large additional deposit which I wasn't aware of; its either this or give them your passport. I highly suggest NOT doing this as I saw passports just laying on the desk so they don't appear to take security that seriously as people just wander past this area and come and grab their keys. The double room we had was super basic, shower pressure was a mere dribble and on lugging your gear up 5 flights of stairs isn't fun. You can find much better backpacker accommodation elsewhere.
Very good location but the staff is unfriendly, the swimming pool very dirty and the rooms more than plain. I had a single room with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was one floor below and quite dirty. I really didn't feel happy at this place
