Bad location, nice staff especially Tom from the tourism department - he drove us to get food. Very small lobby. Pool is also tiny and crowded. Breakfasts was ok. Gym was good. I really enjoyed the gym. Very strict guest policy (it is probably easier to sneak into the Oscars than into this hotel).
We stayed for 1 night in an executive corner room. My only regret was that we only stayed the one night! Arriving fairly late after a flight from Phuket, we were delighted when we opened the door to our room! Check in was quick and you have the option to choose the soap and the tea you want for the room. The room was huge, spotlessly clean and cool. I loved the fact you could order from the restaurant menu and have it delivered to your room for no extra charge. We just had some light bites but they were delicious. We also had a complimentary drink each from the fridge and a happy hour of free drinks from the roof top bar - the cocktails were fabulous. Breakfast was again outstanding- huge choice including some items cooked to order - and the quality was excellent. I had chosen this hotel as we had a 1am flight out of BKK and we were able to keep our room until 7pm which meant we were rested before our long flight home. They also arranged a taxi for us - 400 baht to BKK. The hotel tuk tuk ride up to terminal 21 was welcome in the heat although we did walk it a couple of times and it really isn’t too far from the main road. Next time I’m in Bangkok I will definitely stay here again. If you are considering staying here, do it!
This is a great hotel but the approach to it could possibly lead to the wrong impression. It’s down a side street off one of the main roads in Sukhumvit and you may be put off when arriving in darkness. Don’t be - once inside it’s modern with bigger than normal rooms which are well appointed and serviced. Breakfast at the hotel will leave you spoilt for choice and if you don’t like what’s on offer then you are not easy to satisfy. Evening meal was good there, too. There is a daily happy hour at the rooftop pool between 5 & 8 which is BOGOF. The prices of meals and drinks is not extortionate however. Would I go back? Yes Would I recommend? Very much so.
A friend and I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, and everything was great!! The room is very ordinary, but the beds are very big and very good to sleep in. The bathroom is so great, I loved it. The hotel is placed a quiet place, but close to everything, and you can easy reach the train to the airport.
We stayed here for 11 days and yes as some have said in the reviews it is a walk to the nearest BTS. However there is the hotel tuk tuk to drop you off and pick you up. You should also try the canal boat which is a 5 minute walk and will get you to the major sites quicker than the BTS. We stayed in room 602 a corner room with a walk in shower. It was spotless and we were treated to fresh fruit everyday. The breakfast was a choice between buffet or cooked to order and the staff were attentive and professional every morning even when they are busy. The reception staff assisted with taxis and advice on where to eat , just ask if you are unsure they are keen to help. A special thanks to the tuk tuk drivers and security guard who did an excellent job. We will return next year and we will stay in this hotel, great team and excellent accommodation. See you Jan 2018 and thanks.
Nice and friendly staff, nice big room, with lovely bed ,nice bar and pool area, with great overview of the city , nice with free Tuk tuck to the sky train. Not a very beautiful view from the restaurant.Disapointing breakfast, with to little western food af god quality.
U Sukhumvit was the first hotel during our 3 week stay in Thailand. We found all the staff very friendly and willing to help with any queries. Room was perfect for the two of us, plenty of room & cleaned thoroughly daily. Breakfast was served from 7am-11am, and there was a vast selection. I’m pretty sure you could order breakfast anytime during the day too. Rooftop bar & pool was a lovely area to chill in. We ate from the menu on our first night- food was fabulously tasty and hot. Plenty to see & do around the Sukhumvit area, with shops, bars and restaurants just a short walk away. However, travelling further afield was easy enough too. We used taxis & tuk tuks when travelling in the evening & used the canal boats during the day. With a pier just minutes away from the hotel (Nana Chard) you could travel to the other main areas for just 10-12baht each! Brilliant way to travel, and you got to see a little more of Bangkok rather than the tourist sights. If you are a little nervous about travelling, just ask the reception team- they were so helpful! Would definitely stay here again Thank you U Sukhumvit
We really enjoyed our stay here. Executive corner rooms are spacious with a fabulous walk in shower room. There is a delightful roof top pool and bar which is just perfect for a dip and ice cold draft beer after a hard days wat wandering. Excellent breakfast which you can take anytime of the day up to 10.30 at night! We found the location suited us perfectly. Not much going on in the immediate vicinity so it's nice and quiet but you can easily walk to Soi 11 ( bars and restaurants) and then on down to Nana BST station. Hotel has a complimentary tuk tuk service to Asok BST and Terminal 21 shopping centre which has a great food court in the basement. So much choice in Bangkok for hotels and locations but if you want a small friendly hotel with really lovely people to look after you then this is well worth a try.
Absolutely loved this hotel. The location, the rooms, the staff, the breakfast, the tuk tuks, everything. The rooftop pool and bar was wonderful to sit and have a drink and watch the sun go down after being out all day and before getting ready to go back out in the evening. It is about a 10 minute walk from Sukhumvit Road but there is a free tuk tuk service if you can't be bothered. We usually got a tuk tuk on the way out but walked home on the way back and it never felt too far. The staff could not do enough for you, absolutely wonderful people. The breakfast was amazing. There is both a metro station and a Skytrain station 10 minutes away, (or 3 minutes by tuk tuk!) so getting around Bangkok is super easy. When we had missed the last train home (a couple of times) while we exploring further afield, we didn't bother with the local taxi's as we heard there could be all kinds of problems getting the taxi drivers to turn their meters on and other minor scams, so we used Uber, which was really easy and really cheap. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel for it's service and location.
Nice hotel with a smart roof top/pool area. We had great value for money, especially for the late check out (7pm) without any extra cost. We were also happy with the free shuttle service to the closest skytrain/shopping centre. Of course there are more central hotel choices in Bangkok.
