Amazing location right in the local market — full of life and great energy. The ferry is less than a 10-minute walk, which made exploring very easy. The staff were helpful, and even though the room decor is a bit dated, it was clean and comfortable. A memorable highlight was seeing local kindergarten kids using the hotel pool (kid’s pool) with their teachers ( morning period) — it added such a sweet and joyful touch. A solid stay with an authentic local vibe.

The hallways are tiled with concrete walls, the staff use walkie talkies set to very loud and them seem to talk a lot, so you are woken early and the noise levels are high the whole day. The pool looks great in photos but is only knee deep for around half of it, so not ideal for swimming laps. There’s only one decent restaurant in the area, and getting out of the area is difficult and takes about an hour to get to central Bangkok for shopping or restaurants. It is prone to flooding as well, each morning the nearby market would be slightly flooded as the tide was in. This was also the route to the nearby ferry. The ferry was convenient and really the only way to get out of the area without sitting in traffic for ages. The bed was however comfortable and the location next to the river was nice, but it didn’t make up for the constant noise of staff talking on walkie talkies at all hours or the fact there were no decent restaurants anywhere close. It was not that cheap either when you take the above into account. I’d pay more and stay elsewhere if I visited Bangkok again.

The room was old, with mosquito screens coming off the rails and blinds bent and not closing properly. Despite AC and keeping everything shut, there was constant humidity inside the room. I tried for 3 days to organize transport from the airport by sending multiple emails both directly and through the booking platform and got a reply only when I was already at the airport (landed) so organized transport there myself. I tried to get laundry done the morning of the day before my departure and selected “express service” (which had a 4h turnaround time). Instead of clean clothes, I found a note from the front desk saying that since there was “heavy rain” (it didn’t rain at all!) my laundry couldn’t be done by the next day (24h - not 4h - later…). The room was not cleaned the day before my departure, bathroom amenities were not refilled and the towels were thrown on the bed instead of placed in the bathroom. I also inquired about a temple visit and they tried to sell me extra touristy stuff I never asked for. Overall I would give the property 3* max in terms of condition and less in terms of service… only “plus” was that the area was calmer than most of the city and easily accessible via river ferry. I

Terrific hotel residence with interesting history.

We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood along the river with a temple next door. Walking distance to Wat Arun. Conveniently located between 2 piers for quick transport to main sites. Breakfast was delicious! The restaurant faces the river and the food is yummy. The room was a good size. The pool is nice but there were problems with the little moat surrounding the pool which involved 2 days of a crew cleaning it. I'm sure this was a temporary issue. The Wang Lang market is around the corner which is filled with food/clothing vendors.

Too many small issues.

The reception has no aircon, in warm days it can be unbearable for foreigners. The hotel does not have any iron, after many hours flying, the clothes need to be ironed. We were asked to bring the clothes to a laundry at the reception. We had a used coffee glass in the room for days that we left in the sink but no one picked it up. The cleaning was poor, during the whole stay we had toothpaste spots in the sink that were not removed or cleaned. The soap run out after the third day, we had to use hand soap for showering. The staff is not good at English, luckily my wife is Thai.
