My husband & I stayed 2 nights at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit & it lived up to it's reputation. The beds were heavenly, the food delicious & the service impeccable. I must mention the breakfast - wow, possibly the best we've had in any hotel. There are many massage places around & a Robinsons store attached to the hotel. Also if you're looking for a supermarket, there's a great one downstairs, which really surprised us. You can't buy alcohol between a few hours in the day though, I think it's 2pm to 5pm - I'm not sure why. All in all had a lovely time at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit - thank you
Stayed at the hotel for business during which I had a breakfast meeting for several non hotel guests. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Nice hotel centrally located. Would go back again for sure.
I spent 6 nights at this hotel as part of a company conference. Located in the busy Sukhumvit area, this hotel is located min from the sky train, terminal 21 shopping mall and heaps of great restaurans. The hotel offers a few restaurants as well, gym, outdoor pool and conference rooms. The rooms are good size, well equipped and very clean. Free wifi was available as well. All in all a great hotel that offers a great experience.
I just finished a (29) night stay at this hotel. This 5-Star Hotel is run like a fine tuned machine. Perfect wake up calls (thank you to whomever took all my wake up call requests late at night and got every single wake up call correct for (29) straight mornings), incredible housekeeping, a top flight Platinum Lounge staff, a sensational staff of doormen and door women (who greatly assist with getting you a taxi with a running meter) and exceptional restaurant staff, both in the breakfast as well as the evening lounge. The GM, Peter, a class act himself, should be very proud of his entire staff currently employed at this hotel. They are among the finest staff at any hotel in the world I have ever experienced. There are a few standouts that do deserve special recognition. First, and foremost, the Housekeeping Crew. Nattanan, Boonjira, Saisuda and their Executive “boss” Wannapa. This crew was exceptional in every way! Everything perfectly clean with special requests handled to perfection. Nattanan in particular is a “superstar” with preparing lovely "towel animals" (the Swans were amazing this trip) left on the bed most days as a special personal touch of this crew! Traveling alone this trip, the towel animals as well as a special message each afternoon made out of rose petals, put a smile on my face. All four of these ladies (including the “boss” Wannapa) are exceptional staffers and Westin should be very proud to have them. By the time my (29) night stay was over, I had a Zoo full of towel animals in my room! I also had a personal issue at the beginning of the trip I needed assistance with outside the hotel at a local store. Wannapa, on her day off, travelled to that store to help me with the matter! I’ll never forget her kindness in helping me. What a super special and lovely woman! I have spent hundreds of nights at Starwood properties across the world over the past few years and this housekeeping crew continues to rank at the very top. Seldom do I see housekeepers specifically mentioned in reviews, but these four ladies deserve top billing in this review of the hotel! One of the many reasons I keep coming back! Second, Joy and Lek who took great care of me every day at the breakfast buffet! Thank you ladies. And, thank you to the entire breakfast staff working along with Joy and Lek: you were all amazing! And, a special thank you to the Chefs at the breakfast who handled my special orders perfectly for nearly a month. Third, there is Anthony - the Guest experience director. This guy is a “Jack of all trades”. If you have a problem in the hotel, just search out Anthony. He was always there to help me in every way. He is a star employee of the hotel to be sure. Fourth, Lieu, at the pool. This incredible woman has been working at the hotel for (24) years now! I truly enjoyed her company the couple times I went to the pool. What a breathe of fresh air this lovely lady is. Fifth, the entire management team, including the Duty Manager Emm. She is always there for me and knows how to address any situation that comes her way in a totally professional manner. I saw the difference between a totally ineffective Duty Manager (as compared to Emm) when I attended a dinner at another Marriott hotel during my stay and had a small problem the Duty Manager could not handle. I hope Emm is promoted to a Front Desk Manager soon because she is so good. My many dinners at Kisso during my extended stay, the Japanese restaurant on the 8th floor of the hotel were all, once again, delicious. A special thanks to the Kisso Manager and her entire staff! I received a lovely "platinum" room upgrade, the platinum breakfast was wonderful and the platinum lounge on the 24th floor was great. And, the hotel now handles two pieces of laundry a day (complimentary). What a delight to have (58) pieces of clothing handled for me at no charge over the course of my (29) night stay! Again, Peter - you have an incredible staff at this property. In short, the hotel deserves an A++ rating for this stay. Thanks to the entire Westin staff for the assistance during my stay and I can't wait until we meet again!
Good location if your office is nearby but there are many other hotels to chose from. Lobby is very mediocre, club lounge is small but mostly very dated, as is the rest of the property - not at all what I would expect from a Westin and not a property I would recommend. Friendly staff of course, this is Thailand... simply not a competitive property to the high standards available in the city.
We stayed in this wonderful hotel in December 2017 and we liked it a lot, it's huge but never the less very good walkable. The rooms are excellent aswell as the bathroom and everyone is very friendly from cleaning lady to the reception desk. The best thing are no doubt about that....the food locations, the very big and tasty buffets with everything on it you can dream off, to bad they only serve breakfast and lunch buffets, dinner is only a la carte! Would i stay there again? Sure! This is a very good alternitive of the Sheraton across the street which is also very good!
This was the second time I stayed at this hotel, again for a company event. Both check-in and check-out were swift. Room was comfortable as well as bedding. Meeting facilities were good. Food was superb. The lightrail station right at its doorstep offers tremendous convenience getting around Bangkok. I would have given it 5 stars if not for some little unpleasant experiences: 1. I dropped the TV remote on the floor between my bed and the night stand when I left for breakfast. When I returned later in the evening, the room was made up but the remote was still on the floor. 2. During our second day lunch in the 7F buffet restaurant, I asked the waitress for a cup of coffee. She told me there was coffee in our meeting rooms. I understand lunch was a busy time for the restaurant serving staff, but this wasn't an acceptable response. 3. During our third day breakfast in the 7F buffet restaurant, none of the milk area selections was labelled (whole milk, skim milk, soy). I didn't have time to use other facilities at the hotel. Overall, I find it a comfortable stay.
I've stayed at this hotel perhaps twenty times in the last dozen or more years, and I've reviewed it in the past. It only gets better. At one time its location was just good: a block away from the interchange of the BTS Skytrain and the MRT Subway. In the last few years, one of Bangkok's best malls - Terminal 21 - has opened next door, so the location is better still. The hotel has all of the things you would expect from a top hotel: very nice rooms, lobby bar and restaurant, great pool, excellent fitness area with state of the art equipment, topnotch spa, a good range of conference facilities,... You get the picture. What sets this hotel apart, though, is the service. This is not just Thailand being the Land of Smiles. I've stayed in many other Thai hotels, and some are very good. Friendliness is central to the Thailand experience. But this Westin hotel goes beyond that. The staff care - in a personal sense - that their guests are comfortable and happy. I could mention a lot of specific things in this hotel, but the one that always stands out for me is the Executive Club on the 24th floor. It is not the biggest, or fanciest. It doesn't have the greatest view I've ever seen (although it's pretty good). The breakfast in the morning is excellent, but not unforgettable. The cocktail hour spread is better than 90% of the top hotels, but not the very best. Yet what you'll find is that the staff of the Executive Club will make you feel at home, and that's what makes it the best. That's really the theme in this hotel, whether it is checkin or door staff, concierge, restaurant and bar personnel, housekeepers, business centre, or anyone else. Everyone makes you feel at home. Bangkok has a gazillion hotels (it's a technical term). Why anyone would stay anywhere except the Westin Grande Sukhumvit is beyond me.
Do yourself a favour and stay at this hotel Been here in late January and the latest innovation has been an upgrade of the breakfast area 7 th floor Management made a joint decision to invite other chefs from the Marriott group to upgrade , renovate and increase offerings by the Westin Joint ideas - happened this week The results are outstanding.
I went to Bangkok recently with goddaughter and friend and stayed at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit and my actual bday is on 27th Jan. All I can say is Excellent and superb for they not only surprise me with a birthday cake in the morning whilst I was having breakfast with my friend; they decorated the room with rose petals inscribing happy birthday as well; followed by another birthday cake Westin staff from concierge to their front desk and their management have been excellent and everyone was doing their job with a smile....truly Bangkok is a Land of Smiles Last but not least, their Heavenly Beds is definitely heavenly - once you sleep on the bed; you soon fall asleep fast and in comfort My friends and I will definitely stay in Westin again especially it is so close to BTS; Terminal 21 and easy to get around and also near Healthland :)
