First, the picture you see on their hotel website or any other online agent website is so different from the reality. It looks wow from the outside entrance however the room is dated and dusty. Bathroom is clean however the heater is either too cold or too hot, so we keep switching from hot to cold and cold to hot while having shower, it just can't stay the same temperature. A very simple check in, just give your passport and paid then you get your key. We stay here just for location, bed and bathroom, nothing else. Just a 3 mins walk away from the Victory Monument station. Next to the hotel there's a family mart. Opposite the road have 7 eleven and a small shopping mall Century Movie Plaza. Not recommending to anyone and will not be back again. I got no choice to book here due to the hotel I wanted was fully booked and we are 6 pax getting a family room with 3 queen size bed.
When I booked this hotel, I already had an idea that it was old. But I did not think it would be THAT old and creepy. The furniture in the lobby are worn out and sad. The room itself is horrid. I felt like someone died in there or something. Bathtub is stained, wallpapers are peeling, room furnishings are old, room smell is a combination of smoke and mold. The room rate is pretty cheap, I paid 1,180 baht via booking.com... I did not expect a luxurious stay but I did not expected it to be that bad. I could have spent my money elsewhere. Staff also are horrible. I had to stand in front of the reception for a good 3-5 minutes to wait for them to finish chatting and finally paid attention. The lady who checked me in never even said hello, she was in a bad mood, just checked me in and asked for my money. That's it. Bad bad service. Heed my warning, bring your money elsewhere. This is a big disappointment and a bad decision on my part. After check in, we went out and stayed out late, then woke up early to check out. Its that bad, we didnt want to stay any longer.
The hotel is located close to shopping and eating areas (family mart is next door too). It's located in an alley but people are always buzzing around. We stayed for 7 days but had to move to another room at the hotel after the first couple of days because the ceiling in our room sprung a leak. Once we notified the staff they were quick to resolve our situation. The hotel offers breakfast which our teens enjoyed. On the downside, the hotel could really use a major renovation. The rooms are old, the furniture is outdated and the curtains, ceilings and bathrooms are worn out. The construction next door was loud at all times of the day and night. The gym was great but the experience could've been better if they offered bottled water while you worked out. We were not able to get a late check out but the hotel allows guests to leave their bags in the lobby until you leave for the airport. If the hotel gets a renovation + a few other tweaks, it could be a serious competition for some other hotels in the area.
- Good Hotel. But, rooms are okay it seems. - Near to Victory Monument and Pheiya Thai Airport Link Station. - Fitness Center is very good. - Swimming Pool on roof top is like baby pool. - Staff is good and courteous.
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights, before our flight to Australia. Perfect place right next to multiple shopping malls, street food and markets everywhere. Next to the BTS line so to get anywhere is perfect. Read reviews of furniture is old etc, we didn't mind that. AC was fantastic the best on our trip. Pool area is lovely it's undergoing minor works. More tidying up than anything else. Only fall would be more tables and chairs within the garden area. I would come back here again. Definitely.
I stay at this hotel for the third time. But I will never come back here again!!! Today manager Denny shouted at me, insulted and refused to solve the problem with the idle air conditioner in room 512, saying that this is my problem. When I asked to call the senior manager, he said that he was the most important manager and that I would have to wait until he will wanted to listen me. After this he start ignorence me. I had been in more than 500+ hotels all over the world, but never seen such awful, rough and abusive service!
Pros: This is a basic budget hotel. The location is the best thing about it. Easy access to and from airport. You can take the airport train to Paya Thai then switch to BTS and ride one station to Victory Monument. Takes about 40 mins. The hotel is very close to the station but a bit difficult to find the first time as it's down an alley. About 5 minute walk from station. Easily doable with backpacks. Lots of street food and restaurants. Next to giant duty free shop, night market, and mall with cinema. Easy to travel around Bangkok from this location. Staff are always smiling. No bugs in our room. A.C. strong. Lots of English tv channels. Studio room was spacious. Cons: Stayed here in 2012. Nothing much has changed but bathroom has been upgraded to a shower. Think there's a wide variation in room types. Super dated. Don't bother with breakfast and go outside to get food. Nothing great about the breakfast offered. There's a great duck noodle soup around the corner. They charge half the room rate for late check out past 1pm. Wi-Fi spotty. No safe inside room.
I should probably start by saying that this hotel is not for fussy guests. If you're looking for modern, chic, new ... then you must stay away. Otherwise, this hotel will be all that you had hoped for and more. We stayed in a Family Deluxe Room, which is 2 rooms with a connecting door, but there is only 1 entrance/exit. The room with the entrance/exit door has a pantry area with a single-door fridge, plates and utensils, and a sink. The other room has a bathroom. Both rooms have a really small balcony that doesn't serve much purpose, but we found them great for drying clothes (we brought our own clothesline). There's Cartoon Network on TV that my kids loved. The location of the hotel is really good! Very near to the Victory Monument BTS Station, Century Movie Plaza (a small mall, but has most of the basic things you need, from banking to fast food restaurants), and very good street food. You will never be bored nor starve there.
Location of the hotel is good, being a five minute walk to Victory Monument BTS station. Check-in was quick (usual deposit of 500THB required). Generally the hotel seemed dated. The room was a Studio room. Layout was good, with double bed and a separate ‘living area’ section with table and full-sized fridge-freezer, but overall the room and furniture was in need of refurbishment. This isn't a high-end hotel so, perhaps to be expected. The bathroom door looked as though it had expanded and cracked several times with water damage, there were handles missing from cupboard doors. There was a ‘balcony’; this this was just over a meter wide, less than a meter deep and had a large air-conditioning unit in the middle, so you couldn’t really use it as a balcony. The bathroom was acceptable, although there were ants around the bath and sink, and I did find a small cockroach in the bath (but this is Bangkok so wasn’t too freaked out). There was also noise from the room next door coming through the adjoining door. This would have been acceptable for the price as this was supposed to be a short 2-night business stay. But the real issue was was how a complaint was handled. When I went to bed (this was just before 11pm) I pulled the sheets back to find marks (possibly make-up) on both the sheets and duvet cover, as well as hairs. I called down to reception to ask them to change the sheets as they were dirty. A member of staff turned up a few minutes later and stood there staring at the sheets as if trying to think what to do and brushing the marks to see what they were. He then reluctantly called someone on the room telephone (after knocking everything on the table) and after a conversation over the line said they will change the sheets. He then proceeded to take the quilt and pillows and dumped them on the floor on top of my suitcase and laptop bag and removed the bedsheet. He came back with a new bedsheet which was wrapped around his arms (obviously pulled from another bed) and started to fit it. There was a huge black mark across the sheet which he only seemed to notice after I pointed out to him. After a bit of flustering and sighing he reluctantly removed it and strode out of the room. He came back with another sheet (wrapped around his neck, again from another bed he obviously stripped) and put that on the bed. He then started to put the original quilt (which was on the floor) on the bed. I stopped him saying that I wanted all the sheets changed, not just the bottom sheet. He looked shocked at me and asked “all of them?”, to which I replied yes - considering they were all dirty with marks and hair. He then stormed out of the room and came back a few minutes later with new pillows and a quilt (without a quiltcover - no idea why, he only needed to change the cover). He left the quilt (still rolled) on the bed, muttered something then disappeared leaving the bedroom door open. I was expecting him to return with a quilt cover but he never did. All in all, I got the impression that it was me who had inconvenienced him, rather than me, a guest, being inconvenienced and having to request 'clean' sheets to be changed at 11pm at night. All this took 40 minutes, and throughout it all he was obviously flustered and in a bad mood, with plenty of huffing and puffing about it. It may not be a top hotel, but there is a certain level of customer service that is expected: not to have dirty sheets, and not to have rude staff members who make the clients feel like they are inconveniencing them. At no point was there an apology. At that point I booked an alternative hotel down the road and checked out of the hotel. If that is the way guests are going to be treated I am not putting up with that. The front desk staff was surprised when they realized I was checking out early, and gave a brief apology (“I’m sorry”) but did not try to rectify the situation. I was offered the back of a spare hotel registration form to write a complaint which I did. Needless to say I will not be returning, and cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.
Well location is everything and the victory residence was in a wonderful location close to the victory monument, the sky train, king power duty free shopping mall and another shopping mall with a cinema showing movies in english. There were numerous places to eat within a couple of minutes and there was a couple of mini marts very close by. The staff were very helpful and they made a special effort to make our sty comfortable by providing us a family room with 2 bedrooms but it had 3 double beds ( they did not charge us any extra). Our just adult children were very thankful for a bed each. The beds were firm but that is fairly normal for asia, the pillows were ok. the air con worked very well which was wonderful. The rooms are sparsely decorated but there was a good selection of tv channels and the staff were always friendly. The cost is very reasonable considering the location. The breakfast each day was small but lovely, a good selection of fresh fruit and yogurt, toast bacon and eggs along with an asian dish and soup. The pool is located on the roof, it was lovely and clean and had the most incredible views. A lovely spot on a balmy evening. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Thankyou
