The Peninsula Bangkok

5.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

My husband and I stayed at Peninsula Bangkok for his birthday this year. The hotel is beautiful and located in a gorgeous area of Bangkok right on the river. It is "on the other side" of the river, but they have frequent and fast ferries to take hotel guests to the skytrain and opposite river front. I was choosing between this hotel and the Mandarin Oriental. We visited the Mandarin-- it is actually right across the river from Peninsula and extremely nice, but it is quite expensive, and I feel that the Peninsula is a great option for those that want a 5 star hotel but don't want to pay the Mandarin tab. One of our favorite things to do was to sit on our room's balcony at night and look out across the river; so beautiful!

Will definitely come back. The location is across the river so a little inconvenient but everything else makes up for it.

I stayed at the Bangkok Peninsula for four days, found it to be one of the best hotels I've ever been at. Impeccable service, beautiful décor, excellent restaurants, every amenity I could wish for.

This hotel definitely fulfilled my expectations. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The hotel facilities (swimming pool, bars, spa, etc.) are simply amazing. At first I was a bit hesitant to book my stay in this are of the city but luckily I took a shot and it was definitely worth it! I mean, it may be a bit off track from all the hustle and bustle of Bangkok but you are a 2 min ferry ride away of the BTS! I would definitely recommend this hotel for all people thinking about relaxing after your long walking days exploring Bangkok. Also, the hotel is very close to the main skybars in the city, which is a plus, me thinks.

We stayed for two nights in Bangkok and we really have a good experience. Room was spacious and clean and breakfast buffet really good.

Great - no complaints, Nice shops, Chinese restaurant excellent

Couldn't have been better. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Food in hotel was great. Overall just a really pleasant place to stay.

We stayed in a riverfront balcony room. The staff was very attentive. we arrived in Bangkok and the limo provided by the hotel was waiting for us for the ride. Approximately 30 minute ride from the airport with cold water and air conditioning. The staff was waiting as we approached and took care of all our needs. They also kept our luggage as we took a trip to Phuket. They also received a package for me. The boat service to the bts was convenient.

The hotel staff was very hospitable, but we were disappointed in our room. The entire floor, as well as our room, had a musty odor. In addition, the mattress was not comfortable and the sheets were very rough. Not what we execpected from The Peninsula.

The Peninsula in Bangkok is everything you'd expect from a hotel of this category: rooms are well-appointed, service impeccable, location unbeatable. We've stayed here twice in the past six weeks, and both times it was consistently good. At half the price what you'd pay at the Mandarin Oriental just across the river for very similar quality and service, the Peninsula offers great value. If the Peninsula management are reading this, there are only three areas where I find room for improvement: 1) Food (especially a-la-carte) is sub-standard. The morning buffet is lovely. But it all goes downhill from there. I've been disappointed at the Thai restaurant, the riverside terrace and pool-side snacks. 2) The boat service to River City is extremely annoying. Customers' needs - not a fixed schedule - should drive it. And customers should not have to "book" it on top of that. The Oriental's boat service to RC is available at any time upon request. Peninsula's should be the same. 3) Between our first stay in mid-December and early February, pool-side service declined noticeably. While the number of guests by the pool increased substantially, there were fewer staff to take care of them. Service was erratic at best. Other than these three specific issues, everything else at Peninsula was flawless.

The hotel was very nice, the rooms big and confort, the people that work there helpful, and nice.

We stayed at the Peninsula in Bangkok for one night in the Grande Deluxe w/ Balcony room. Service at this hotel is impeccable. Can't say enough good things about the staff. The facilities are very grand including the rooms but the technology in the rooms (TVs, thermostats, etc.) is a bit dated. The lack of an iron in the room was a bit odd though they delivered one expeditiously (with a tip). The hotel was a quiet and safe haven in an otherwise noisy and chaotic city.
