The Okura Prestige Bangkok5.0 out of 5.0

This hotel is a Japanese hotel with wonderful services and value for money. The room is big and the staff is so wonderful. The place is clean and grand. The room might not be the most modern design, but it is classic with great attention to details. Breakfast choices are either international buffet or Japanese. Location is good as it is opposite to the Central Embassy and also the air train It is a good location if you are keen to do shopping, but not close to the cultural places or hip areas. The swimming pool is a bit disappointing as it is basic , but has a good view of the city. if you are on a business trip or a shopping trip, this hotel is a wonderful choice. If you are after the Thai cultural experiences, there might be a better options to explore. A lovely hotel to stay and you will have a wonderful experience!
We stayed at the Okura Prestige to start our two-week trip to Bangkok, arriving after more than 20 hours of travel. Because it was our anniversary trip, I emailed in advance to ask about an upgrade, which we were pleased to receive upon our arrival. The room was spacious and comfortable, the shower was incredible, and the toilet area (which was separate from where the shower was located) was perfect. The service at the hotel was immediate and helpful. Also, the robes in the room were so light and comfortable, I ended up purchasing one for home! The only complaint about the room was that the lighting scheme was impossible to figure out - there was no rhyme or reason to why or how certain lights turned on while others did not. We intended to call someone up to ask for a tutorial but the time got away from us. The amenities are really what set this hotel apart. First, the fitness center was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel - a ton of machines and free weights, cold bottles of water and fresh fruit (apples and bananas), towels and mats, and individual television screens. Right outside of the fitness center is the infinity pool, which appears to fall right out into Bangkok! It's perfectly maintained and a great treat at the end of the long hot days wandering around the city. There is also a small bar at the pool and happy hour specials. Finally, the breakfast (which comes with many reservation packages) was out of this world. Literally anything and everything you can think of, from all areas of the world. The service at breakfast was great, and while almost everything is at the buffet itself, the egg dishes are ordered a la carte and brought to you promptly. I can't say enough about how incredible this hotel was. Especially if you're looking for some comfort after a long journey to Thailand, I would recommend without hesitation!
From the service of when you just enter to the front lobby service to the concierge to the room and the amazing amazing staff, this hotel is just absolutely great!!! The breakfast buffet was one of my favorites for the entire trip to Thailand, everything was so delicious and amazing and so many options!! The views form this hotel are so beautiful!!!! Even the gym facilities are soooo amazing. I truly miss this hotel so much! Not a single thing needs to be worked on (except maybe the outside traffic of how to enter the hotels grounds but thats not the hotels fault) It is truly a amazing hotel and stay and staff and allocation was great too!
When compared to another 5* Bangkok hotel, this one was dissapointment. Hotel is boring and dead silent. Hotel itself start with reception in 25th floor, rest of building is some office center. Pool is nice, but not comfortable, with no drinks or food service. Staff seems frightened. Every dialogue starts with polite but some annoying information, like "our executive lounge ends 7:30PM, but bla bla..." told in 6PM, or "breakfast will end in 15 minutes" and in this time they start to gather food out. Breakfast is nothing special, I look to another guests, so they don't know what to choose just like me. We had one of most expensive rooms with executive package, but they charged for kids aditional bed 2500 Bath for night, what is price like whole room in another good 4* hotel in Bangkok. They want to charge us for kids breakfast too. So we make deal - it wiil be in price. Next morning went to breakfast and after it submitted to sign bill +500 Bath for kids breakfast. Need to call up and down and manage, that breakfast is allready in price. I need to call bellboy twice for luggage, because nobody came in time. Wish to order taxi, but they just call any first from street. Car was so small, that we need to sit 2 adults and 2 kids to back seat, in front seat was one luggage and in open trunk was second... I argued we need bigger taxi, they replied we need to wait 20 mins. Rooms are nice and clean, but that is I expected as obvious in that price range. We not feel comfortable there and I must agree with other bad reviews here.
Well when I booked the hotel I really looked forward to come and stay here. I booked 4 nights with my dad and got a prestige club room We are here right now room 3427 at the highest floor, the only good thing about the hotel is the room but its about 600$ a night so I guess it's only fair for that price. We arrived after a long flight around 14 o'clock and got our room and first thing we went down to the pool, beautiful pool like in the pictures right !!! But no sun and I was like ok maybe because it's 14 in the afternoon and we unlucky, let's get here tomorrow after breakfast and catch some sun, the day after after breakfast at 11 o'clock still no sun only shadow all day, I mean who puts an outdoor pool where there is only shadow all day long. If I Knew this I would never have booked the hotel. Breakfast before the shadow disappointment by the pool was another letdown, simple, cheap cold cuts, cheap cheese table and the omelette very simple and bland with no taste, the coffee was made by a press key machine not a real espresso machine so the cappuccino tasted like water with milk, over all not a 5 star experience at all. The fruits as well cheap fruits water melon banana papaya and so , no sort of berries at all Then we went out for a walk and sight seeing on the way back we went to the club lounge around 16:30 as it was the and cake time, I ordered some the but I asked for a beer for my father then I was told I had to pay for the beer because it's before 17:30-19:30 cocktail hour. I've stayed at a lot of 5 star hotels at club/suite level never have I've been told that beer is part of the cocktail hour. What a let down again for 600$ per night. When we got in to our room first day we were told beer and cola and sprite is part of the free mini bar but San pellegrino water and orange soda is not, really at a prestige club Room for 600$ a Night , you would say this is Yes but this is noooo , how Much is the difference between a beer and a San pellegrino 50 cent :) The coffee machine in the room is a senseo with pods tasteless and cheap not even a Nespresso or illy not 5 star, we had a bowl of fruits tasteless apple and orange and banana, the 3 cheapest fruit you can get, no berries and like..... The food at the club lounge during 17:30-19:30 cocktail hours as they call it, again nothing to write about, simple and boring.... I've stayed at Conrad Tokyo and Aman Tokyo, I thought If I chose a Japanese brand of hotel even in Bangkok I might experience the 5 star quality and service as the ones I just mentioned, even the Waldorf palm Dubai executive lounge or the Atlantis palm or the marina sands Singapore was better , the cake and pastries at the time was just excellent here at Okura Prestige just simple boring all the way. I really don't recommend this hotel, no way you get anything for 600$ worth Spc the shadow all day by the pool Next stop So SOFITEL Bangkok
The hotel lacks character. This is a large hotel for business clients, so if you are looking for a charming hotel with character/charm/hip factor, this is NOT it. As a side note, there were no macaroons in our room at turn down and it took two calls and 20 minutes to get teabags delivered to our room. On the positive, the hotel is well located, the room large size with greata amenities and gets a lot of natural light.
Can not ask for more... Rooms are beautiful, service is a 5 stars, food is great, pool is beautiful and staff is very polite. Everything was perfect. Wish all hotels were like that... Staff is Thai and Japanese, so that explains, the very high standards...
We held our wedding at Okura Prestige Bangkok on 6 January 2018, and loved every bit of it. The entire wedding process and planning was quite smooth (despite the fact that we were planning most of it from overseas). The staff at Okura were outstanding right from our initial visit through to the end of our stay. Very special thanks to K'Tua who looked after us and managed our wedding so well. He was very professional, responsive and helpful - he went above and beyond for us, and we are very grateful to have had him manage our wedding. If you're reading this K'Tua, we'd like to say thank you again for everything, and we wish you the very best for the future. The banquet manager and his team were also excellent. We'll always look back on the day so fondly, and will carry these beautiful memories with us forever. Thank you once again to the team at Okura for all your hard work, you made our wedding so successful. The hotel itself was beautiful. The deluxe and prestige suites were well-appointed and well-designed (we had the best nights' sleep!). The service was top-notch, and we felt well looked after throughout our stay. We can't think of any negative feedback to be honest - we highly recommend the Okura, and cannot wait to go back again.
The Okura Prestige Bangkok is the best. Fantastic service, great rooms, prime location steps from Ploenchit BTS and great shopping and restaurants. Breakfast buffet is fab and the infinity pool is pretty nifty.
After reading so many excellent comments from here, we stayed in the Okura Prestige Bangkok for two nights and expected this was a top-notch hotel. Although the room was well-maintained and seemed to be clean, the air conditioning had some weird smell and was quite noisy. The bathroom was in a good size with strong water pressure but the shower drain was clogged. The services at the front desk was fine but the staff at the ground entrance could have been more helpful. The gym is excellent but the swimming pool is very small and like others have mentioned, don’t expect a sun bath. Location was close to the BTS but you had to either walk through a mall which would close at night or else you need to climb a footbridge. With this price and so many nice hotels in BKK, we would not stay in this hotel again.
