Choose this hotel because of the brand name Compass Hospitality. Had very pleasant stay in other hotel under this brand name. Had a very bad experience with a hotel staff which was extremely rude. Spoiled my mood for the rest of my trip. After this incident, discovered that there is a hotel just next door, that is cheaper and better. Here, just next door, the staff are so gracious and polite. The Key Bangkok Hotel by Compass Hospitality, will never stay here again. Most rude hotel staff I have ever encountered.
Okay location ia great, that is why I choose this hotel in the first place. I had a long journey due to traffic, check in at 10.30 PM. Went for quick dinner outside and go back at 11 PM. When I went back and turn on the TV, no channel available. I call reception and they send someone. After 10 minutes and unable to fix it, he apologize and ask me to re pack my bag and change room. I was so tired but I did it, anyway the rooms was smells like cigarette too. I received better type of room, bigger and more modern. So far I am fine until I went asleep. Awaken at 3.15 AM due to horrible buzzing sounds from my bedroom wall! The sound was so overwhelming as if something was about to collapse to my bedroom wall. Sounds like 100 old water heater was installed behind my walls. I was scared, annoyed and pissed as I was tired. Waited for around 10 minutes the sound was still there. I called reception, and she said she is sending someone. After 10 minutes nobody came and after 20 minutes suddenly the sounds dissapear. The reception called rightaway and ask, I told them its gone now. But I want to know what the hell was happening, she cannot answer and give me long silence. My best guess is my neighbor just came back and he/she was taking shower because I now remember the shower hose does made big sounds. I asked the reception if thats the case, with a very slow and stupid English so she can understand, but she didnt, at all! She ask me to change room again tomorrow. Really? If everytime a guest showering it will awake the other guest, I believe changing room is not the answer. Well it's not confirmed yet, because the reception seems to have english capability of 3 year old kids. She told me to talk to the manager tomorrow. I ask her if the manager will be there by 8 AM because I plan to start my day early. She couldnt even understand. I book non refundable room for 2 nights via agoda. Now I am truly regreting my decision and hope that I can get any refund and move to other hotel tomorrow. Because with the price I pay and this whole stupidity, this isnt worth it. And yes it just happened and I writw it down rightaway as I couldnt get back to sleep. The key sukhumvit is what you need. To have high blood pressure on your holiday.
Stayed there for two nights on our last two nights in Bangkok. Great location for the centre of Bangkok. We arrived with our bag packs on and they greeted us with ice cold apple juice which was great after a day traveling back to Bangkok! Room was clean and spacious, double bed and single. We even managed to get a few English films on the go on the TV! 15 taxi to khao san road (for all the party people out there!) Only downside was the construction works going on right outside the hotel, and they appeared to work on night shift! Woke us up a few times. Overall a good location and good place to stay.
Key offers bang for buck. Fantastic location. It's tucked into a small street which is located in the heart of the city. Close to Asok Metro station and Sukhumvit main road. Access to shopping malls is a great addition to the hotel. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was clean. The suite had a refrigerator and a microwave also. Friendly staff. The only minus was the below par breakfast. Hop into the cafe in the main road and you will find a great breakfast there.
I booked The Key Bangkok on Hotels.com. Booking online was a cinch. But the photos posted was a tad misleading. But let me start with compliments of the The Key. Hotel overall cleanliness is Good Location wise - Good within walking distance from the BTS skytrain and underground trains. Staff is very friendly and helpful Decent free Wifi Rooms are misleading. I had booked online based on photos posted. But the room I got when I checked in was without any windows. The "windows" I had were opened to the Lift lobby. That means sleeping at night meant I was in a BLACKED out room. I asked for another room, but was politely told by reception that I had to pay more for a room with windows. So there... not the fault of the hotel staff. He was indeed helpful and very nice. In fact he took me to see each of the rooms with varying upgrades in price. I thank him and decided to bum it since I was there for 1 night only. So folks - if you wanna book the room - please do not go for the lowest price rooms listed for The Key. That price is a room without windows. On hindsight, I could have splurge a bit more, and gone to another hotel. Overall - I rate this a 2 star experience for me. The learning points if the Hotel is reading this... PLEASE Post the REAL pictures for the exact rooms and not other rooms to mislead browsers. Otherwise - an ok stay over for 1 night.
Hotel was clean, well maintained with very friendly staff. Check In was done rapidly, I arrived in the afternoon and didn't have to wait too much. Well situated and not far from everything if you like to go for shopping. BTS & MRT are just a few minutes walk from The Key. had a very good stay there.
Nice boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok Walking distance to MTR, BTS Terminal 21 for shopping Huge and clean room . Excellent breakfast and especially Excellent service From front desk , Bell Boy or maids Everybody was very helpful with a large smile . Highly recommended
I only have 48 hours in BKK and we decided to stay at The Key Bangkok at Sukhumvhit Soi 19 in view of its superb location to ASOKE BTS and Terminal 21. Staff is very accommodating and nice. Room is clean. Love the fact that there are massage places all around the hotel as well as small food carts selling yummy Thai street food. Overall it was a great stay. Only 2 things which I hope the Hotel can look into to make it 100% - replace with new beds (current queen bed not very comfortable with hard springs) and have glass door to the shower area instead of shower curtains. Am ok with the bed as we were staying for 1 night only :). I will definitely bring my family to stay here the next trip (just hope for a more comfy bed).
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights.. Check-in easy , staff very friendly, especially Breeze on reception desk, so friendly.. Room was good, air-conditioned, clean, hot water for shower, and close to shopping and all transport.. Overall a very happy experience here.. I would stay again, anytime I am in Bangkok again..
The room was fine with no problems noted. The staff were friendly and helpful. The staff's English language skills were not impressive but satisfactory for everyday needs. The included breakfast was satisfactory but somewhat lacking in variety of food offered. A big plus is that the local BTS Skytrain MRT Subway stations are right around the corner from the hotel! Also, whatever nightlife suits your fancy is within walking distance as are any flavor of restaurants, including Mexican, Korean, etc. I think the area is quite safe, just the usual vendors pestering you night and day. Good value and good location coupled with a friendly staff means that I will be returning to this hotel for another extended stay this year!
