This is my second time staying at this place. Feel like you come back home. I was welcomed by the front staff. They changed suitable room for me and my partner before I asked them to do that. Love the staff, from receptionists to tuktuk drivers, guards, room cleaners. When we ask for the taxis go to airport they are very helpful ( because we have many luggages with us). The place is convenient for travel around, near Phra Nam 9 MRT, as they provide free tuktuk from hotel to station every 15 minutes. And if you know the short cut way through Tesco Lotus, it is just a short walk from station back the hotel. All in all, this is a warm place to stay in Bangkok. I will recommend it to everyone!
Be VERY CAREFUL when you check in & check out at this hotel!! (Or, they will charge you for something that isn't your fault!) Indeed, I've stayed more than 30 different hotels in Bangkok area only, and this is probably the worst experience I've ever had. Indeed, if you are planning to stay at this hotel, you have to check all the amenities first to see that everything is in perfect condition. When I was checking out, the woman at the front desk said "You have to pay me 100 baht. You broke the ashtray in the room." and I said, "What? I stayed here 2 nights only, and I don't think I broke something. Please bring the ashtray to me." And she brought the ashtray. I've uploaded the photos of the ashtray here. You might think that this is a fine ashtray, (I couldn't find the problem at first either) but the woman pointed out a small pit(?) on the upper part of the ashtray. (If you see the ashtray closely, you can see a bit of pit on the right side of the ashtray) Okay, first, it's really difficult to find out the default of the ashtray. Secondly, if it's really broken, I didn't do it, because I didn't even move the ashtray while I was there. But the lady said, "we checked before." and I said, "Okay, I'll pay the 100 baht and I'll take this ashtray and take the photos and upload them on the internet" She was a bit frustrated, talked to the male staff, and the male staff said, "no problem." So, I am taking the photos and uploading it now. I've read some other reports on hotels.com, saying that some other customers had similar trouble at this hotel. (in his case, he had to pay 200 baht, because the hotel claimed that they cannot find a "hotel manual book" in his room.) I think I am NOT the only victim of this hotel, so be VERY CAREFUL when you check in and check out at this hotel, as they may charge you for something that isn't your fault!!
It is just a short walk to Phra Ram 9 MRT station. In fact they have free tuktuk from the hotel to station every 15 minutes. Reasonable price and good service. The front staff is helpful and speak good English. The room is clean and well organize. 5 star for the front office staff! Will be back next time.
Tanatawey Places is a little hard to find, but thankfully there is singage from Soi Ratchada. The rooms have nice joinery in them, and have a refrigerator and balcony. The only downside is the small bathrooms - not big enough to swing a cat. Breakfast is a modest range of items supplemented by a choice from the restaurant menu. Quite frankly we had different choices every day, and were never disappointed. We ate in the resturant one night and were less impressed, but it might have been a different chef to the breakfasts. The free shuttle to the MRT station was another plus. Recommended.
Cheap and big apart-hotel in a quiet and non touristy side of Bangkok city. Near to Phra Ram 9 MRT (8 min walk) which will you bring to everywhere easily but do take note of the small walkway right after Tesco for the shortcut to the hotel. Every room comes with a balcony with an extendable clothes rack for those who need to wash their clothes. Big size rooms, similar to hotels in the past. The room are for a mix of usual short term hotel stay and long term apartment stayers.
The staff was friendly, helpful, and competent. This hotel was reasonably-priced and had everything I need. The restaurant provided quite good Thai food at fair prices. The beds were quite comfortable, I was relieved to discover, after having suffered a number of other hotels' Thai style bed standards. This is a great hotel for night-owls, with a restaurant and a convenience store open until 2am. Wifi was good (I think) and the fitness center is well-equipped and spacious. For a tourist the location takes a little getting used to. It's located behind the Fortune mall tower near the subway station, but a few blocks into a maze of Thai neighborhood streets. I've gotten to like them but it takes getting used to. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the subway station and nearby points, but on the way back you have to walk through the Tesco Lotus parking area and around a few corners. There is an abundance of local activity (food stalls, markets, etc.) in the neighborhood. Location is near subway and airport link. I will remember this hotel for my nights of arrival and departure from Thailand.
This is a good 2.5 star hotel close to the MRT and large shopping complexes. The beds are comfortable, linen and towels are fine and the staff are very obliging. It's not the most salubrious part of town, but for all that, there are good cafes nearby, only one station to the heart of town and most of all, it's quiet. Good security. There's an in-house store which is a little pricey - but convenient. Large selection and well-priced in-room dining. Negatives: low water pressure, variable Wi-Fi speeds, only one set of light switches which are near the entrance - but a torch is provided should you need middle of the night activity. An ancient TV with a reasonably selection of cable channels. Really, for the price, this will be my preferred hotel when staying in that part of town.
Staying there for 4 days 3 nights.Eventhough the hotels far away from the main road, the hotel provide tuk tuk to take you to MRT Station nearest phra ram 9 station. The room is ok.I booked studio room but the room is to big for myself. They gave the table and chairs for me if I would like to order something from the room services.Private terrance for you to see outside the hotel and dry your laundry. The staff is helpful.Eventhough many of them do not understands English but they are trying to serves you. They also provide a refrigerator in my room so I can put some drink inside. The bathroom is clean, the toilet is ok.But maybe the shower maybe doesn't spry much water.Hot water running very well.
Stayed here for 2 nights around New Years eve. Our room was big, clean and comfortable. Contained fridge, TV, balcony and AC. Staff were very helpful and the restaurant served ok food. Not sure if our room was different to some of the previous reviews, but have no complaints of this hotel. Maybe the price is a couple of $ higher than similar hotels elsewhere, but you are walking distance to some big malls, the MRT and very central in Bangkok. The hotel even drop you off at the MRT in their tuk tuk if you ask for free! Would recommend.
I stay just one night in this hotel, chosen because its in my embassy area. Room it's clean, tidy and comfortable!!! Sleep like a baby after long travel, hotel it's in central area but very quiet. Two stop from Sukhumvit- 2 min walk to Tesco Lotus I restaurants nearby, 5 min to metro and Central Plaza. I travel as a single lady and definitely don't fell uncomfortable walking in hotel area( other review) last night came back at 23 from cinema, walk safe with no problem. Staff in the reception are very friendly, polite and helpful. If you looking for a budget clean place don't by afraid to book this hotel. Next visit in Bangkok in January- definitely I will chose Tanatawey hotel.
