Suvarnabhumi Suite4.0 out of 5.0

For years now, I have been staying at the Suvvarnabhumi Suite Airport Hotel in between flights with connections in or out of Bangkok. If my arrival is late night, with outgoing flight the next day, the hotel shuttle is always there to meet me. (I e-mail my arrival details ahead of time. Note: shuttle is complimentary according to type of accommodations booked.) The next morning, I have ample time to enjoy a good breakfast in the rooftop restaurant and time to relax before the shuttle scoops me up to take me back to the airport. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful. The accommodations (I generally book a 'Superior' room) are very quiet, clean and comfortable, each with full bathroom, TV, and efficient air-conditioning. The hotel also has a Spa, where one can be pampered by trained therapists with a variety of excellent Thai massages.
Pleasantly surprised when we pulled into the Hotel drive. Transformer Models everywhere - quite different!!! The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms very clean and modern. The restaurant and outdoor area on the 6th floor were quite amazing with lovely views. Fountains, trees and coloured lights made the area very cosy. The night we stayed there was a guitarist giving the best of Eric Clapton.Would recommend this Hotel for Transit. The Hotel is about 10 minutes in a cab.
We stayed in this hotel during our transit from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur. We stayed on the 4th floor. The room was spacious and clean. However, it was very hot that we were sweating throughout the night. Actually we called up the maintenance guy to check the air con and he said all the air-con in the other rooms are similar i.e. all the rooms would have similar hot condition. I would not come back to this hotel again....
Having looked at various options, decided on this hotel as it had the facilities we wanted and wasn't too expensive. It was an excellent choice, and we'd definitely return. On check in, after explaining our flight wasn't until the following evening, we were given a late check out at a very reasonable price. After an evening flight from Phnom Penh we ate at the hotel rooftop bar and restaurant. Lovely view over the surrounding area. Quite noisy at the time as this was the end of Songkran. Food was nice but surprisingly stone cold. Alcohol relatively OK prices. Room was excellent - large and comfortable beds, good air conditioning, absolutely no noise from airport, toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, so all we needed. Breakfast was absolutely fine - again in rooftop restaurant, with juices, bread, cereals, yoghurts, a variety of hot food. Small swimming pool with towels in adjacent gym and a few sunloungers. Bit too shaded for our liking, but still OK to relax. Another plus was the availability of local restaurants on the nearby main road. Ate at a superb seafood restaurant, but there were plenty to choose from and they were also very reasonably priced for Bangkok.
Hotel is close to the airport (15 min ride). Free shuttle can be arranged when doing the reservation. Shuttle sign at the airport is mixed among several others so look carefully to pick the right guy that will take you to the shuttle (had to walk for a couple of minutes to find the sign). Clean room and bathroom. Good internet. Walking distance from large disco (did not go). Uninteresting view from the room window. Stayed overnight between flights. Good value. Would stay again. The lobby and hotel entrance is full of large, very well made metal sculptures of Transformers characters...somehow not affecting the ambiance. Did not take breakfast. Staff was friendly.
I used this hotel as an overnighter between flights, mainly because of price and its proximity to the airport. I used the free shuttle service to the hotel (level 2, door 4) which was quite good (it runs once an hour, so depending on your timing, a taxi might work better for you). The check in process was efficient. The room itself was basic, clean and the bed was comfortable. I left before breakfast, so I can't comment on that. It was ok for one night, but I'll be trying somewhere else for the return journey.
I have been twice to this hotel. Flying from London to Krabi we stopped there to relax as we had 17 hours waiting time for next plane. We dropped the baggage in the room and went downstairs to the restaurant. Food was nice and reasonable priced. On way back to the uk we decided to do same. Unfortunately on way back to the room our room was flooded from air conditioning unit. All bags soaked. No fresh clothes for the journey 1 hour to check out. The receptionist smile at me and said " oh relax we will fix it" then she send me a boy with vacuum cleaner to suck out the water. I was with my wife and 2 years old. I have asked receptionist for a different room ( as we wanted to get ready for a plane) after 10min of argument we received a key to different room. Problem they have is that staff don't speak English. Good points: Good price, short distance from the airport, free transfer to and from airport, nice food, Bad points: Non English speaking staff (ignorant), small lifts, lifts stop at half stairs, bad bathrooms
This hotel is good if you have a flight in the next morning. Very far from the center of Bangkok but few minutes from Suvarnabhumi airport. The room are clean and correct for one night. And the staff is very nice. The restaurant is good and the view is nice. A nice plus to have a free shuttle to go to the airport.
Most of the visitors don't know there's a separate immigration counter that is operation and less rush than main counter which is located after the duty free, 1000Bhat, a passport size photo, duly filed landing form and on arrival application form, take care of baggage belt.
The hotel met expectations, was relatively comfortable and clean, great breakfast. Mr. Panyaphatt Y. and Ms. Ussanee I. were extremely polite kind and helpful in booking us tickets for the Siam Niramit Show and making the transportation arrangements and converting currency. I would like to bring to Mr. Thanawat's ( the owner of the hotel ) attention Mrs. Patcharin's attitude !!! She was the morning front desk person that for an unknown reason to us refused to help us make the same arrangements that the other two front desk persons were so sweet, graceful and kind in making them for us in late afternoon. Very bizarre !!! We never encountered such an attitude from a receptionist -EVER !! The lady needs an attitude adjustment ASAP !!! Thanks.
