Silom Serene Hotel

Choose the hotel after reading positive reviews, good location but more 2/3* standard than anything else. Check-in was basic, not friendly, hotel is ON RENOVATION , drilling happening during day, not mentioned on the booking site, rooms are standard but bright and spacious, comfortable renovated bathroom, Superb Japanese Ramen restaurant next to hotel, and close to Pattpong market (walking distance).

the serene boutique hotel is a nice hidden hotel in the middle of pulsating silom. just 300 meters from the bts station sala deng, or the padpong night market the hotel offers clean and spacious rooms and the staff is very friendly. there are many very good street kitchens and restaurants within a short walking distance and for those who like clubbing and some entertainment it is also a short walk to umpteen places. and if you hear up too much you can go for a cool down swim in the pool in the inner courtyard. overall i can recommend the hotel as a good value for money accommodation in bangkok.

I chose this hotel as it was recommended by the dental clinic I was visiting. I'm glad I chose it too. It's nothing grand from the outside, but on the inside it's quaint, tidy and the service is great. It's priced accordingly at around $85 NZD per night incl breakfast and the rooms are clean and well appointed. Being situated appx 5 minutes from Saladaeng MRT station, it's an easy trip to various central points in Bangkok ( as long as you know where to interchange)- so trips to MBK mall, temples and markets is all doable from here. There are 7 elevens in close proximity as well as numerous restaurants and pharmacies - so all needs are catered for. The night markets on Silom road are great for wandering through and picking up bargains to take home. If you are looking for luxury, fine dining and soft beds.... Silom Serene isn't for you. This is not five star- but more a 3/4. It's perfect for the budget conscious without being a dive! I'd go back.....

This was our fourth visit to this hotel, and for value, comfort and location it really is hard to beat. Just around the corner from the chaos that is Silom Road, and an easy 5-10 minute walk to Patpong night markets, the restaurants, bars and clubs of the Silom district, or Sala Daeng Skytrain station, it has the very best location in Bangkok. Yet inside the hotel it lives up to its name - serene indeed. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the pool area while small is delightful with gardens and lawns right up to the edge. They had signs up apologising for any noise from renovations, yet I didn't hear a thing and slept like a baby. Our suite was huge, and as always spotlessly clean, with a well appointed kitchen area, large refrigerator, microwave and plenty of cooking and serving utensils. The separate bedroom was massive and the bathroom bigger than many other hotel rooms. The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable without being too casual, all spoke English quite well, and all were very eager to offer help with taxis, bags, directions or suggestions. The price was truly a bargain. $130AUD for a massive suite is almost too good to be true, especially when it includes breakfast, but that's what we had and loved it. My one and only gripe - and it's a petty one I know - is that they don't have any rooms with balconies. Apart from that, I can't find fault with the Silom Serene, and I'm sure we'll be back again in the future.

Great location, short walking distance to Silom main street. Hotel room is very Thai style and spacious. Staff at reception are very friendly. The house keeping staff was even more friendly and helpful. You have to experience yourself. I was staying at room 302 during Songkran period. Everything was perfect except there is no hot water in the shower room.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, the front desk was very helpful as my booking had not yet been received. I stayed in a deluxe room with king size bed and breakfast for 5200bht. The room was clean and very spacious, however I had to stay in the smoking section on the 8th floor due to the confusion over the booking. Free Wi-Fi is available but was not stable on the 8th floor and kept on dropping out, connection speed however was good when available. The hotel itself is a little run down and needs some maintenance and an overall freshening up, however it is clean and the room was maintained by a very diligent cleaner who came everyday. The breakfast is in all honesty not worth it the highlight was the made to order omelette and not much else. The hotel is in a good location close to markets, shops and restaurants the sky train is a 5 min walk away. I would stay at this hotel again the staff are friendly and the rooms clean.

This was previously my 'go to' hotel in Bangkok but haven't been to BKK for five years so was a little surprised to see how 'tired' this hotel had got. Rooms are tired and dated. They are doing renovations at the moment so it may be worth a look back some time in the future, but for now I will find a new venue to stay at when visiting BKK. They also messed up my airport transfer. Despite booking it on the website there was nobody to pick me up as I hadn't sent a follow up email. Given they had all the details, and I rcieved a confirmation email with all the details, without any request for a confirmation, this was a bit of a stuff up. They upgraded me to an Executive Room for the mix-ups, but given the tiredness of the rooms was not much consolation. Having said all of that, it is priced well, so from a value for money point of view it isn't too bad.

Good location in Silom. Reasonable rates but similar accommodation with better service can be found elsewhere. Gym and pleasant landscaped pool area to relax but the pool is on the smaller side and not designed for swimming laps. Not sure what makes this a boutique hotel. The room (Deluxe) was okay (spacious, clean, comfortable enough) but poorly and thinly painted, despite a bath curtain showering resulted in water soaking the bathroom floor and mat, basic toiletries provided, no view, breakfast buffet is fair (mix of Thai and western dishes, including eggs cooked to order) but not exceptional, and stay was uncomfortable due to treatment at check-in (not very friendly or understanding). Solo travellers beware that your booking and payment might allow for two guests but hotel treats you as single guest at check-in. Reception takes away second room keycard and breakfast vouchers which can make you feel uncomfortable and awkward should you like a more trusted approach at check-in and during your stay. It is a reasonable hotel policy that additional guests or visitors (not registered at initial check-in) be checked and signed in for security and safety reasons (totally accept this) but there is a more mature and respectful way to treat guests than withhold what they have paid for at start of stay. A sensible guest will not provide a room keycard to strangers and there are plenty of written warnings from the hotel that it takes no responsibility for missing items from room. By the end of a short stay at a higher star rated hotel I had 5 cards, because as a valued guest I was trusted. Guests should also not be put in an awkward situation of asking for their second breakfast vouchers if/when required. This unreasonable treatment makes a guest less likely to purchase anything else from the hotel, like using the restaurant or bar; and certainly unlikely to recommend the hotel to friends and family who often ask for places to stay in Bangkok. Ideally, I should not be placed in a situation to feel I need to write these comments. I’m sure Silom Serene will always have many satisfied guests but some discerning, less outgoing travellers might find it less welcoming and somewhat uncomfortable.

I liked everything about this hotel. Stayed in Room 615 for three nights, very quiet, clean, and comfortable. TV was good quality with a small mix of English channels. WIFI was ok, nothing speedy and faded out when retreating to the far end of the room, but it did work. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was very beautifully laid out and landscaped, with plenty of comfy chairs for lounging. Breakfast was above average and varied a little day to day, with an omelette station, noodles, fried rice, a stir fry dish, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and toast. Location was above average, very close to Silom Road. Close to BTS but getting a little far from MRT if you have a heavy bag. Good street eats in every direction with Western options located all through the upscale malls along Silom. Even though I felt that the price was just a little high for this class of hotel, I was very satisfied overall and thus will stay here again.

Our family decide to book this hotel because it's located in Silom area, this hotel has swimming pool. we stayed in connecting room. Furniture very well decorated, clean room. Nice breakfast, kids were happy with pool. Staffs did very good care of us particularly our kids. They were always smiling and kind with everybody
