This hotel is n oasis in a very intense neighborhood. It is gorgeous inside - not a generic hotel experience. The bed is VERY firm but my husband and I got good nights' sleep. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very attractive and chic, with a delightful and friendly staff. The downstairs bar has an amazing cocktail selection and great jazz on certain days, and the location in the heart of Chinatown is perfect for exploring and finding great street food, with easy access to the old town bangkok tourist attractions by taxi or tuk tuk. The room didn't have the standalone bathtub we had expected, but was well worth it even despite this! Would absolutely stay here again.

The staff was great and the music in the bar was great but the room was just bad. It was small and there were bugs. Sorry to the staff but the great service just doesn't make up for the shabby accommodations.

It's a simple hotel but with good location. For the price, it is indeed a very good option. Clean and quite rooms. If you want luxury, it's not the type. If you want a good price-service relation, I recommend.

I started a long trip throughout SE Asia from here and it was a good place to rest-up and soak in the immediate area. I stayed two nights (I don't recommend more). Everything was clean, cared for, and guests were well-supplied. The room was super quiet and I enjoyed a good soak in the tub. Upon walking out, there was myriad choices for street food and Thai-Chinese food. I enjoyed walking to many areas and zipping over to the river from here.

Good location for a snapshot of Bangkok street vendors and stores. Quite an experience for walking around and absorbing the street life.

Staff was very nice, rooms were clean and uniquely decorated. Fun place to stay while in Bangkok, central location to attractions. A bit of walking distance to nightlife but tuk-tuks are everywhere and cheap, not a problem getting around.

The Shainghi Mansion was an amazing hotel. It was beaming with character and personality. This is an excellent choice for first time visitors. The staff will go out of their way to make your stay everything you will want and need.

Spent one night here and had a fantastic stay. Wonderful room and grounds and excellent location for exploring Bangkok.

Had to book a last minute minute stay at the Shanghai Mansion due to a flight change and ended up extending the stay for two nights because of how impressed I was with hotel. Room was really big with huge bed and bathroom. The mini-fridge was re-stocked for free each day with water, pop, beer and snacks. Any problems or issues I had the staff send sometime to my room immediately to help out. There is also a coffee bean and bar connected to hotel. Overall I was really impressed with my stay at Shanghai Mansion.

The staff was very nice and helpful and the area was perfect. Highly recommend this spot.

It came recommended but I got the name wrong as this was horrible experience. From the check in where female was only interested in getting more money foe early check in. The room was old, bed like concrete shower swung all over and drenched floor outside called staff who walked over the sodden towels but not replace them only put old screw to stop the flying shower head. Not told where to get breakfast. I can't believe the score it has on this site it was horrible terrible would not go anywhere near it. paid for 3 nights stayed 1 went to Sukhumvit which was fabulous respectable area!!

THIS HOTEL HAS IT ALL IT COMPETES WITH 5 STAR HOTELS DUE TO ITS CHARM VERY UNIQUE MY CHILD LOVED IT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF CHINATOWN.

Needed to stay in the old city to be close to my daily classes at Wat Po. Chinatown was in close proximity and the Shanghai Mansion was the perfect oasis of calm and luxury stylings right in the pulsing heart of the busiest part of Bangkok. Excellent street food, markets, and resturants all around. The staff at the hotel were warm and welcoming and the room was perfectly appointed. It was wonderful to come back to the room and take a relaxing soak in my wonderful private bath. The beds were so comfortable and the entire hotel looked and smelled beautiful everyday. I even brought some Hollanders I met over to check it out and they were looking forward to staying at the Shanghai Mansion on thier next visit to Bangkok. Nice Noble Value as well. You must do a bike trip with co van kessel down the road. You really get to see Chinatown and a good part of Bangkok. I suggest the all day tour. Also, T & K seafood is amazing street food every night. 517 Massage and Foot Reflexology do great treatments.
