A great place to stay near Khao San

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in the past two weeks. The location is excellent, it’s about 5 mins from Khao San Road but far enough so you aren’t disrupted by the music of clubs and bars. The reception staff are all very friendly, especially one lady who I think might be the manager. Any questions or problems I had they were happy to help. The room itself was clean and comfortable. I booked a twin superior room with a window. They provide two free bottles of cold water, towels and toiletries. The air con was very good. The bathroom in my second booking was much smaller than the first, but it was still usable - especially as a solo traveller. One thing to note is that there is no lift so you have to carry luggage up the stairs. Some parts of the room are a bit tired (like marks on the walls etc. but overall it is a good room and a lovely place to stay in Bangkok!

Extremely close to Khao San road, but still quiet enough you can sleep. Lots of restaurants and places nearby to eat. Train stations about a 30 minute walk but grabs everywhere

Staff were overbooked on the first night and tried to stick us all in one room rather than the 3 rooms I booked. She then tried to book us in another substandard hotel. When I refused, she tried to blame us for not confirming. I showed her the ebookers confirmation. She then backtracked and said one of the rooms was faulty. Eventually after standing my ground for an hour, she upgraded 2 of us to Suites and me to a Fan room for one night and changed us the following day to the rooms we booked.
