If you like construction noise you won't be disappointed. The internet keeps cutting out and then you have to log in again, except it doesn't tell you that. It simply says you are not connected to the internet. Then you have to turn off and on the connection and log in again, or call reception for a new passport. Also, kitchen has only one plate and one bowl, no forks or knives, no hot water boiler. There is no scale, no ironing board or iron. For $125 per night for the suite, that's a little hard to take.
Stayed here a few times now for business trips. Its comfortable and clean. Rooms are huge and location is great. Just 5 minutes walk to emquartier malll and BTS. Service is polite and friendly as expected in Thailand. Pool is a little uninspiring but good incentive to get out and explore the city!
When I first arrived at the concierge, it was a little odd having to go up to the 8th floor to check in. However the lobby was very nice and the staff was very warm and friendly. The check in process was very quick and I proceeded to a duplex suite. The room was large due to the duplex set up. When you walk in, you are greeted with a kitchen with a counter top. Also available are four bottles of drinking water, the normal tea and for coffee you get a nescafe dolce gusto cafe au lait capsule, pretty impressive and gets refilled daily. You get a toilet at the ground floor and there is a sofa and a lounge sofa if you would like to work. You also have an LED TV for guests if you have friends coming over. The good thing is that it is separated from the bedroom, which is upstairs. You get a larger than King bed with another LED TV as well. The channels are abundant and for the bathroom you get a separate shower and a tub as well. Although being a large room, the space for you to put your luggage is a little limited once you want to open and unpack. The wifi is a little weak on the top floor so you will need to work from the ground floor if you need internet connection. The location is pretty good, especially if you have to travel out of the city in the morning. The concierge can call you a cab with meter so you do not have to worry about getting ripped off with a flat rate. The hotel is a good 5 minutes walk to the BTS station, so traveling around is very convenient. The breakfast is decent, the coffee is strong and you get a good selection of bread as well. You get an egg station that caters to a wide range of egg cooking styles and you can choose your omelette with a wide range of toppings. You get a good choice or juices as well - orange, apple, mixed fruit. There's a small selection of cheese and there are french toast, pancakes, fried rice, boiled rice, soup, Japanese rolled rice. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and would definitely return if I get the chance.
Enjoyed very much the architectural details that was to this place as well as the great service. Breakfast was not very exciting but ok. We stayed in a Duplex and will next time choose a different suite as the stairs and the Bathroom size was not very practical for people of my age. all in all still a great place with excellent location.
This place is a smart hotel. Considering the price its a great choice. Its right on the Sukhumvit road (major tourist road that connects to many places) and its 5-star quality for decoration and staff service.
I wouldn't say this place is anything to rave about, however it does fit the bill in terms of efficient service, cleanliness and modern decor. The location is convenient, and the free breakfast was a definite plus with plenty of choice. Service from the staff is fine, all were pleasant and able to help with basic queries.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife. The hotel generously upgraded us to a duplex even though we did not ask for it. Pros: Location: Easy to find if you are walking from the nearest BTS station Phrom Phong. It lies right beside the main road of Sukhumvit and you just cannot miss it. Traffic in Bangkok is crazy at all times, so it is advisable to get around using BTS as much as possible. Rooms: Awesome and flawless. It is luxurious, comfortable with all the modern amenities you need. For the price we paid, it is nearly impossible to get the same standard elsewhere in the world. The room is clean and housekeeping is prompt. It is similar to the Marriott and Sheraton we have stayed in elsewhere. Decor: Attention is paid to all the details around the hotel. There are tasteful pictures of Thailand, subtle (lemongrass and pandan) scent in the hotel. There are also complimentary water and cookies found in the reception area. Service: There are 2 men in the concierge whom I would like to point out for their friendliness and warmth: A bald man and a brown skinned man. Cons: Service: If the hotel aims to raise its standard to that of a 5-star hotel, it has to train its check-in staff to be friendlier and more "warm". I am not saying they did a bad job, but the level of service does not do match up with the efforts put into the rooms and amenities. Wifi: The free Wi-fi is intermittent and we have to log in and out many times to get a stronger signal depending on which part of the room we are in. Again, it is great that free wi-fi is provided, but much needs to be improved. Ongoing renovation: There is renovation going on and thankfully they are usually done between 11am - 7pm. You can hear them clearly in the room. But the hotel did notify its guests upon check-in. I have mixed feelings because the hotel and its rooms are impressive and it is absolutely value-for-money for the price it charges. But yet little details seems to be lacking and they need to be improved. Nonetheless, I will still return to this hotel in my future visits.
Situated at the heart of sukhumvit and is only 5min walk away from the nearest bts (Phrom Phong) Great stay as always with friendly and helpful staff, especially the concierge staff. Lives up to my expectations. I love the duplex room design, the bed was HUGH!!!! Suggest to increase selection of breakfast though, very limited choice..
We stayed here for a couple of nights. The room was large, clean, modern and had massive windows but the view was mainly onto neighbouring buildings. The concierge kept trying to sell us taxis and tours. It was very hard to tell if he was trying to be helpful or looking for a kickback. Breakfast was alright, but we kept having to ask for coffee topups (why? it's surely the cheapest item in the buffet!). Overall felt the hotel was alright but missing the staff service to make it special. The location is good for restaurants and shops but poor for he main temples and palace.
This is a fairly nice hotel, with a rather odd layout. The entrance is on Soi 31 and if you enter on Sukhumvit, you're walking through the cafe, which might be a little weird if you are hot and carrying a ton of luggage. Reception is on the fourth floor, which is on a particular set of elevators. I found the hotel nice, the breakfast excellent for a boutique hotel and the location decent, even though it was rather a hike to the Skytrain. My check-in experience wasn't entirely pleasant, as I wasn't given a particular warm welcome and they have particularly uncomfortable and low chairs at the reception area. Check out was slow as well, as it took forever for them to verify I didn't steal 40 baht worth of chocolate from the minibar, or whatever the problem was. While I know it is standard practice in the industry to demand a deposit on a paid reservation upfront, I want to say for the record I absolutely -hate- this practice. This hotel continues this insipid tradition. The bottom line: It's nice enough place, but not nice enough for me to avoid trying some other nice place next time.
