I stayed at this hotel for 3nights on my business travel. Overall location is good, about 5min walk from BTS Phrom Phonng station, and there are a lot of places to eat and drink near the hotel . But I don’t like the room plan, washbasin is not at the bathroom but at room separately. I want to use washbasin after toilet! There was a small kitchen and a microwave, it was good for those who stay long.
Not sure where the certificates of excellence came from, but perhaps I am just rather picky.Booked and paid for two nights, stayed for just one, which basically sums it up. Good point, location, not much else. Terribly designed room, bumped into TV whilst walking round bed, perhaps I'm just too fat. Sink for some reason in the bedroom, and not the bathroom, and rather low, perhaps expecting guests from the Shire. Alongside, rather strangely, a window that looks into the toilet, although may appeal to some, I suppose.Only four sunbeds on a rather shabby sun deck. And finally, may be petty, but annoying. Nespresso type coffee machine, with an allocation of one cup a day between two people. If want more, then 150 baht (£4) a pod. All in all, will not be staying again, there are far better places for the money. Left after one night for the Novotel. Far superior, same price, excellent hotel, and service.
We liked the interior decoration, the bed was very comfortable and good big size and the location is also excellent , however our room was very bad designed by the Architect . The room appeared to be good size, but Toilet and Shower were in a very small cubicle , when somebody sits on the toilet there is practically not enough space to open the shower door without touching the knees of the person sitting. The wash basin was in the room under a staircase with a small mirror placed for a person that is 1.5 meters high , very unpleasant. To pass the bed there is only 30cm space between bed and TV for a bigger person a torture. Also the wardrobe was extremely unpractical . The friendliness of the staff was very mixed , concierge and staff on the ground floor are extremely friendly and helpful and would reed our wishes before we asked. The reception was not really cooperative when we had a problem with the booking.com that mistakenly had only one person registered for the room , they asked us to pay additional THB 1200.-/person/day ????? so that we had to go back to booking.com and change the booking for about THB 500.-/day for the second breakfast . We would have expected that they could have done the same for us , as we had to wait nearly one hour to fix it ,specially because they pay 17% commission to booking.com. Staff at the breakfast had no smiles and it seemed that they just want to earn money , but breakfast is good quality with different options .
I love this hotel and stay here or at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok everytime i visit Bangkok. This time i was very disappointed to find that the reception staff really behaved like extortionists and denied us a room upon arrival (8:30am) even though it was available. I understand that check in time is 2pm but if you have a regular guest who has arrived after a night long travel then the least that can be done is to give him the room if it is available. Thats what any genuine hotel brand accross the world would do. It doesnt stop there! They then coaxed me to upgrade my room for a hefty additional amount as they said the room i booked was not available and then it felt like i was bargaining like in street markets. Really disappointed with the experience and will definitely not come back here. I have upgraded to a suite room and it looks n smells like it hasnt been cleaned in ages !
S31 is well located in Bangkok - close to two BTS stations. The room was on the small side but was well appointed. The little kitchen was fine. Restaurant and bar were both good. Breakfast buffet is very varied with Asian and European food. Pool is good.
Good points: great location with a amazing shopping center within 500 m of the hotel, friendly staff, stayed on the 20th floor with the biggest bed I ever slept in, good venue for a conference, nice breakfast buffet, microwave, coffee machine, Not so good: shower in the bath tub, sink and shower taps hard to turn, swimming pool on the same floor as reception,,,felt like you were on display
Stayed for wedding in the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, great location and comfortable suites. Concierge helpful in organising trips and transportation. Central location for all Bangkok attractions.
First, the bed was comfortable, the room clean and the location perfect. That said, it is unacceptable that any 4 star hotel have a leaking bathtub. Sadly, the design and angle of the tub and lack of proper drainage meant that any time you showered the bathroom floor would fill with water. I told the hotel staff several times and they did, and offered nothing except give me more towels to place on the floor. As to service, it was OK. Nothing terrible but nothing great; At least they we prompt in giving me towels to place on the floor. So would I stay here again, no. Leaking tubs disqualify. Also, having the staff check the room as I checked out felt insulting and made me wonder just what type of people stay there.
The location is good and staff are support us during time we stayed here , i love the swimming pool on 8 floor that we can take a rest in the evening with friends but some area in the pool will clean it up. the bed so big but i like it. the good design all of the hotel. I have plan with my friends in the next year for sure I will come back again.
Perfect location. Great design. That's the good. The rest: They clearly have an odor problem which--instead of fixing--they try to cover with putrid perfume from electric devices in the halls. I'm 6 feet tall and cannot reach the rods in the closets. No drawers for clothes. Motel 6 quality (and quantity) towels and linens. I tried three times to order eggs at breakfast. The chef kept leaving. I never got my eggs. Mechanical problem in my room that was never repaired. These are all significant problems that span different areas, indicating to me this hotel needs some significant improvements.
