The hotel was pretty impressive aesthetically. It is well staffed and they trained very well. We reserved the base category room and it was well worth it. The Bell man Mr Jacky noticed we are carrying our own bags and asked to help, you must ask for him every time you visit the hotel for a fabulous experience .Jacky is the definition of Hospitality. Would like to also Mention specially Mr. Nicky who suggested us to stay at Renaissance, trust me they go to any extend to make the guest happy.Ms.Noi (Areeemit issarao) also in the front desk who made sure that we know all party places along with shopping. I must Specially thanks To Ms.Noi for giving suggestions it was worth visiting all the places she suggested. Will visit back to this hotel only if people like Mr. Jacky and Ms. noi are there in hotel Because these type of staff makes the place happening.
Had a great stay! Hotel was wonderful, beautiful rooms and great service, as usual with Marriott. Breakfast was delicious and the cocktails at happy hour were great. Hotel was in the perfect location, right near the railway and very local to sites. Extra thanks to Tar, who helped us during our stay and also sent lovely flowers to our room, for our honeymoon.
The Hotel: We LOVED our family trip/8 night stay at the Renaissance Ratchaprasong. It is one of Marriott's BEST hotels! The staff were incredible. The hotel is lovely, clean, fresh with contemporary decor, spacious rooms, excellent food and excellent working toilets (which as we learned in our 2+ weeks in Thailand, that is not always a given). It felt like a home away from home which was important to us when being so far away from the U.S. My husband is Platinum level and ours room were upgraded by the time we arrived. The hotel is in a great location in the middle of shopping etc. and a 2 minute walk to the BTS Skytrain (Chit Lom stop). The location downside (which cannot be helped if you want to be in a prime location) is that there is a ton of traffic (worse than NYC!) in the late afternoon/evening. Walk or use the Skytrain to get out of the area (at least for part of the way). We sometimes used the Skytrain to get out of the area for a few stops and then took a Tuk Tuk or cab from there. We spoke no Thai but found the Skytrain easy to figure out and navigate. The signs and announcements are also in English -- just get a good map from the Concierge. Tip: There are many stairs to get up and down to the various trains -- not many elevators or escalators. They have a lovely indoor/outdoor pool (not heated) with a great view of the city and a nice gym. The only negatives, which were minor, were that there was a smell of incense in the Lobby that we did not care for. Also, it was difficult to get a taxi late afternoon or for dinner because of the bad traffic in front of the hotel. We always gave ourselves an extra 1/2 hour if we needed a cab at a certain time (e.g. dinner reservation). Lastly, there were some cheesy and excessive Holiday lights (the U.S. influence) in the front and on the hotel. It is an elegant hotel and the lights took away from that. Service: BEST SERVICE EVER! The Bangkok Renaissance set a new bar for service for other hotels to follow! We expect good service but service here was so "over the top " and everyone was treated like royalty (and family). If you were second on line at the front desk or concierge desk, staff noticed immediately (you never had to say a word) and brought another staff member over to help you so there was essentially no wait for anything. We have never experienced this type of service even at some finer hotels. Even in the Executive Lounge, if one of us got up to get a cappuccino on the buffet, a staff member would ask us to sit down and ask if they could bring it to us. Executive Lounge: The lounge was wonderful for breakfast -- this was one of our favorite lounges ever. BEST custard buns and pan dam donuts we ate in Thailand in over 2 weeks. Dim Sum and Miso soup bar were also great! Great cappuccino! The staff, especially "One," was on top of everything -- your names, your day plans and wanting to know if you needed anything. There were so many hot and cold delicious choices -- Thai and Japanese dishes and continental including plenty of vegetarian choices for one of our daughters. The food was replenished constantly and nothing ever ran out. They also has a chef to make omelettes, pancakes or waffles. We thought the food selection during cocktail hours was good (salad bar, charcutery, full complimentary bar, hot entrees etc.) The only negative is that the labels on the foods were often mislabeled. Our vegetarian daughter almost ate a stir fry labeled as vegetarian but that had pork in it. Concierge: Concierge services in the hotel lobby were fabulous, especially Mee and Kevin! They helped us tweak our itineraries and plan our days more efficiently and gave us many other sight seeing suggestions. They helped us arrange day drivers and tour guides and followed up on all the details, including reconfirming with the drivers the night before our excursions.
This was our third visit to the Renaissance in as many years. Service and standards now are still every bit as amazing as they were on our first stay. Navigators are responsive and extremely helpful. For additional cost we arranged for the hotel to provide airport transfers in one of their Mercedes fleet and this was money well spent (for those that have ever had any disputes with Bangkok taxi drivers!). As usual, we selected a room with club lounge access. All staff and service in this room was amazing. We had a very enjoyable time here, particularly for NYE. After the drinks service was finished, we moved from the club lounge down to the hotel NYE party outside in the courtyard. Drinks and food were extremely reasonable and my husband and I really enjoyed the DJ. This hotel is in the best central location. We love staying here and look forward to when we can return!
We only had a day and a night in the hotel but it was such a good experience. The check-in set the tone for our stay. Fast, efficient, friendly and very welcoming. We had a lovely room, there's an excellent swimming pool with great views of the city, there was a very good breakfast with wide choice, and we consider we got a very good value rate considering it was New years Eve and a major holiday. The Renaissance is high on our list of priorities for a return trip to Bangkok.
The most amazing big room Great breakfast 2 min from chitlom BTS SKY TRAIN DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO MALLS PERFECT LOCATION Pls live only here if u don't get holiday inn which is opposite. Mostly because of location. Holiday Inn is cheaper But this room is great. Huge tub
I am very happy here. I sing highly of your service. First of all, On New Year's Eve, many people gather together to count down for the coming year. The Dj very good ,Its amazing.i really like to stay here .

The Renaissance Hotel is like an oasis in the bustling city of Bangkok. It is conveniently located close to Chit Lom Station on the skytrain and a few stops away from the Weekend Market, Patpong Night Market and walking distance to Lumpini Park. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed although the lobby and rooms do feel like it could be anywhere in the world and it doesn't always feel quintessentially Thai. The hotel pool on the 22nd floor is stunning and even has a pool bar that has happy hour from 2pm - 5pm. There is a gym with steam room and sauna and also a spa (although the spa is very overpriced for Bangkok, but not necessarily by international standards.) The hotel has excellent Elite recognition with one of the best club lounges for service and food quality, although it can get very crowded and there is often a line of people waiting. The lounge attendants work hard to make sure everyone gets served though. There is a pharmacy, 7-Eleven, Watsons and bank in the building next to the hotel which is extra convenient and safety is ensured by the fact that you need a room key card to get up to the rooms.
The room and food are okay but the service and security level is disappointing. I travelled 3 hours to get into Bangkok and look forward to have a good rest as the next day I will flying off in the early noon. I stayed in room 1109 and that night the guest beside my room is having a huge fight in the midst of 12am plus I was awake by the noise of the screaming and banging of tables & wardrobe. I reported to the customer service officer and was told they will take action by sending someone up but the quarrel continue for another 1/2 an hour and I have to make another call the same officer then told me that she already informed the duty manager and he have spoken with them. In the situation, dont you need to send security up to the room either ask them to stop or move them out since they are definitely disturbing the rest of your guests? As the Marriott Group can you even condone this kind of behaviour of your guests as they are seriously disturbing the rest of your guests? I can't be bother to report the 3rd time since it's useless so I have to wait for them to stop at 2am. The whole night I am as if watching a long drama with a screen but full blast of sounds as the wall is not sound proof at all I can hear every single nasty word they exchange with each other.
