I have been using this hotel for several years but this may well be the last. It is looking tired, the bed mattress is very hard and lobby noisy with bus loads of mainly Chinese tourists during the mornings and evenings. In addition, it would appear that local seminars are often held in the hotel and getting more frequent. At certain time of the day, the lobby is barely passable. The redeeming aspects of this hotel is its location close to Huay Kwang MRT station, local eateries within walking distance and markets, and the friendly staff. On this occasion, wifi was barely usable - slow, dropping frequently and each time, needed to be login when entering the hotel or room. Very annoying. If you need fast wifi for any reason, best to forget this hotel. This happened on previous occasions but not as bad. No tea, coffee or sugar provided in standard rooms although there are cups and a kettle. Very strange and when asked, they said you have to pay for them. First time I have come across this system.Personally, I am removing it from my list of Bangkok hotels.
It was our 2nd stay in 6 months for the eight of us golfers. Location is convenient with lots of restaurants, shopping, night market and Thai massage all within 5-10 mins walking distance. The room is large including a large toilet but the mattress is hard by any standard. Those who do not sleep well on hard mattresses are advised to avoid this hotel. Breakfast has a wide spread of local dishes and fruits are limited to papaya, pineapple and watermelon, all of which are in season. The dining room is busy with locals who are having seminars and Chinese tour groups. Despite this, the food gets replenished and tables get cleared by the serving staff. Overall, a convenient sleepover for our morning flight from Suvarnabhumi airport which took us 45 mins to reach.
The hotel is clean and quite pleasant. The rooms are big and comfy. However, there are only 1 pillow and it is quite hard. Some of the lights are not working and it can be quite dark at night. Breakfast spread is good and there are many choices. Service at the restaurant is quick and efficient. The counter staff and the main lobby staff are pleasant and polite. Massage and 7-11 is just across the street. You will need transport as it is quite a distance to the MRT. When booking the hotel, you have to indicate wifi. If not the charges are 200 bhat per day.
When the Emerald across the road was booked out we decided to simply stay here as it was so close, big mistake. Asked for parking and it was good the first night then we had to argue with them to get it again the next night as they sell the parking spaces to non customers. The foyer stunk of smoke, the hotel is aimed at bulk chinese tours and they all stand there and smoke, the breakfast are very poor and tasteless, no juice just sugared water, again aimed at the bulk tours. The staff were great though, the only redeaming feature of the hotel, cant praise them enough to be so polite with all the problems they have to face. The rooms were small, beds was extremely hard and uncomfortable but the bathroom was good, air conditioning was real noisy and rooms were very noisy, traffic noise, guests yelling at each other, slamming doors, we will never stay here again. With all the hotels in the area there would be a few that would beat this one hands down.
I have a business trip to Bangkok for 4 days, I was looking for a hotel that I could move around in Bangkok by MRT or BTS. This hotel was a choice that I would be chose. After I decided to book and went to check in at the hotel, I found that the 1 target customer group of this hotel is Chinese Tourist. There are many Chinese tourists walk all over the hotel area. The Breakfast is in the Chinese Mood such as noodle, soup or rice soup but there are western style such as fried eggs, coffee salad to serve you. The price is acceptable and closed by the Hua Kwang MRT only 200 meter by walk. There is a convenient store 7-11 in front of the hotel. Good for Thai & Chinese traveler style but I am not sure in the western style is prefer the facilities and mood and tone like this hotel or not.
Location is good, breakfast is average, nearby walking distance there was a Thai massage @ Lemon Grass is good to relax your stress after daytime out for long distance for meeting. Price is a bit higher compare to others but value for money. Many convenience store around the area and MRT just 5mins walk from the hotel. There was few local restaurant with good foods to visit @ Sonboon and Kuang.
After morning golf in Nakon Pathom, this hotel was a convenient stop before our return trip as its about an hour drive to the Survarnabumi Airport by the highway. The room and bathroom is clean except that the bed is exceptionally hard. Its location is convenient as there's a 7 eleven store opposite the hotel and lots of Thai massage shops around the hotel including one at the ground floor. Also, there's lots of restaurants around the hotel, including a new mall 10 mins walk away. After a leisurely breakfast, we checked out before 8.30am to head to the airport for our 12pm flight.
Stayed here for 3 nights. The beds are comfortable, the room are spacious, so is the toilet, however the water pressure is disappointing. Breakfast are ok, mostly chinese food i suppose, but different varieties to choose from. This hotel is within walking distance to the nearest MRT station. Wifi only available at Lobby.
Hotel room spaces, bed comfortable with office table and sofa (sitting area) Bf room wide selection of food include soup dishes and porridge. Good location with a 7 eleven convenience stall across the road and many health spas within short vicinity.
Stayed here for one night while passing through Bangkok before flying out the next day as the price was cheap and it was located near an underground station. Initially, the reception area is very pleasant. Looks modern with a cafe, tables and sofas and a long reception desk. However, it is clear the hotel is catering for Chinese tourists. Everything is in Chinese and there are tours all over the reception all the time which is not a problem, however if you don't like Chinese food then Breakfast may be an issue. The breakfast area was lovely, however there was limited options other than Chinese Food. There is free wifi which the speed is OK... Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives. I have never slept on a harder bed. It was so hard, I had to use the pillow lie on. The TV in the room did not work and someone had to come to mend it. When it was fixed however, the TV channels were of an excellent variety. The bed side light did not work and the shower is cold, even at max temperature! I would not stay here again. There are MUCH nicer places in Bangkok for the same price. Avoid
