Oriental Residence Bangkok

The Oriental Residence is a luxury hotel, right next door to the US and Netherlands Embassies, and walking distance (even in the oppressive heat of Bangkok) to Lumphini Park–where you can witness komodo dragons in their natural habitat. It's definitely not cheap, but it is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed. The suites are all corner apartments furnished with kitchens (and appliances) and the bathroom off the master bedroom has an uninterrupted 180 degree view from the tub. It's breathtaking even on the lower floors, but on or above the 6th floor it's gorgeous. The master bedroom also has 180 degrees of view on the opposite corner. This is one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Bangkok, so supplies and amenities are priced higher than elsewhere. This is very close to the Rodeo Drive of Bangkok, and the traffic in this area can get very hectic at rush hour. That said, I doubt there is a more luxurious hotel in the city.

This is a fantastic hotel for families. We had a lovely stay and wished we could stay longer. The location is perfect if you want the city, but not too much craziness. The hotel staff was helpful and the room was clean and modern.

Very nice hotel, but expensive. Should be able to find a comparable hotel in a livelier area for 1/2 the price. Nice facilties, Friendly Staff, Very good breakfast.

Very well welcoming with big smile it makes me happy. Hotel is very clean and good smell all around around hotel especially swimming pool. Staff members are very well trained but it is not only that cause i can feel their service from ther inside heart. If i go back Bangkok I would definitely come back this hotel.

Luxury and elegance combined. Great location. Perfectly run. I truly recommend it.

The staff are not just friendly but literally seeking for ways to make your stay more comfortable. The rooms are beautifully appointed and clean. I'll certainly return upon my next visit to Bangkok.

Great, English speaking staff. Very clean and comfortable hotel.

We rented a 2 bedroom suite for 3 adults. The room was stunning in all ways. The room included a kitchen and dining room, as well as a small living room. The amenities were excellent, including an expresso machine, large TV's, etc. we had a great view of the Dutch and American embassy grounds. There is a very good restaurant on the facility for breakfast and lunch. Excellent service from everyone we encountered at the hotel. We would definitely return.

Oriental Residence in BKK has the same owner as the famed Oriental Hotel. You will notice the influence immediately in the attention to detail and friendly staff of the Oriental Residence. I needed to visit the American Embassy which is an easy 50 meter walk from the hotel which is why I chose the Oriental Residence. You will be treated like a visiting head of state by the staff here. Despite the somewhat overpriced restaurant -- the food was good just expensive, I plan to stay here again on my next visit to BKK.

An excellent apartment/hotel offers well designed rooms including kitchenette, large marble bathrooms and the most comfortable beds by far and the room was quiet. The park view is delightful, the location is excellent within close proximity to ploenchit, sukhumvit, chitlom and sathorn. I had a few issues with the consistency of the wifi, though this was acknowledged by the staff and was being addressed by IT dept. The TV channels could be more comprehensive. Compared to other hotels in the same price range, ORB is great value and I will definitely be returning.

Very clean rooms, the best bed I have ever slept in in Thailand and great staff. They were very helpful in organizing a driver for us during our trip and transport to the airport. Right next to the US embassy incase we were feeling homesick!

This was my second stay here and just as good as the first. Superb staff with friendly and helpful attitudes. Room has everything you need. Very comfortable indeed. Great attention to details and to hospitality.

Beautiful hotel. Location is right downtown, very close to many embassies including the US embassy. Staff is warm and efficient. Room is very comfortable - large with all amenities. Internet is decent speed and free. Bathroom is large with both a shower (rain-head type) and bath and even a set of scales. Bed is very comfortable with nice pillows (good softness). There is also a small kitchen area with fridge, microwave and stove top. On fourth floor is a good size pool (20-25 meters with many lanes) and adequate exercise room (two of each machine - elliptical, treadmill, etc.). Restaurant has very good food but quite expensive (recommend eating out). Overall a great hotel. Highly recommended.

Excelent Hotel, excelent location and service,we went to bangkok for honeymoon and this is a great place to stay

Quiet, professional atmosphere. Great business center and friendly staff. Mango and sticky rice in room upon arrival. Kitchen in room makes life very convenient. Rooms are just flat out beautiful and very large. I couldn't recommend this hotel more! Gorgeous stay.

Stayed at this hotel on a 3 nights stop-over and was absolutely blown away by the place, but what made it amazing for me was the staff, from Miss Joy, who checked me in and personally showed me my room, to everybody else who always greeted me with a smile. My room was immaculately clean and spacious and very classily (a word??!) decorated. Good pool and gym. Definately going back. Bravo y felicitaciones!

It was one of the best hotel stays ever! This place is simply amazing- service at the highest level, beautiful design of whole property. Spoteless clean as well. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Location- peaceful and quiet, but close to Skytrain. I would definietly stay here again. I have seen it's main competitors, and in my oppinion Oriental Residence is absolutely the best.

Stayed here over the first leg of our Thailand trip. Hotel was perfect. Very beautiful, clean, and they think of all the details. If you forgot something they will get it for you! The staff was very helpful in arranging taxis and telling us where to go after asking us what we felt like doing. There is a shuttle at certain times too. Loved the French press maker in the morning and the huge rainfall shower. The bed was so incredibly comfortable, that my wife and I slept till noon the next day after a very long trip in. Cool open air pool and restaurant on site. Great cocktails! The hotel is located pretty close to Siam square and MBK. We walked most times back and fourth but if you don't, they will drop you off. Great hotel. You won't be disappointed!

The staff gave me a warm welcome upon my arrival. The culture of Bangkok is amazing. Room service at this hotel is five-star quality. Location is perfect for those who are visiting the first time as it is adjacent to the U.S. Embassy. Taxi service is just a few minute wait. Shopping and dining are just a few minutes drive away or one can walk to nearby stores. Touring in Bangkok is a must for anyone wishing to see the World!
