Oakwood Residence was a great place to stay while I was in Bangkok. 1) It is right by the BTS station (a biiig plus). 2) It is right by the Emporium Mall which was a great place to stop by the food hall for snack and treats. 3) It has a rooftop pool. I loved this. 4) It has all of your basic amenities. No hassle. Solid choice to stay.
For the past many years, every family holidays and every business trips in Bangkok, Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit is our one and only choice. Despite many other alternatives, it's difficult to sway our decision to stay in this residence. Management and Staff in Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit 24 serves their clientele from the bottom of their heart. The commitment from each staff member, is truly commendable. It seems to us that staff read our needs well, without me or may family even asking. Strongly recommend Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit Soi 24 to every visitor, whether long term or short stay. Thank you again for making this family trips a success. Bravo. Jimmy Wong.
Great location, 3 min walk to shopping mall & 5 min to BTS. Lots of street food to venture in the morning, and plenty of restaurants in the nearby malls. Friendly hotel staff, big room with kitchen amenities, and spacious toilet too.
First of all let me inform you that in the last year I have stayed here on multiple occasions totaling around 2 months. The pictures on Agoda and Booking are accurate. I recommend Oakwood first for its location near the Emporium and the BTS Prom Pong and second for its in room full kitchen facilities. If you are not interested in cooking, it becomes less attractive. Prices are a tad high for Bangkok standards and even corporate rates are the same with Agoda or Booking, except for the cancellation conditions. The hotel's official site rates are through the roof, which is simply awkward? The rooms have simple lines and comfortable beds. They are kept up to date but do not have any wow factor. The cheapest rooms are the superior studios and they are kind of small. Together with the deluxe ones they have maybe the best views as they face a green alley at the back. The rest are bigger apartments with either Sukhumvit 24 views or 'wall at a few meters' views facing the side of the Hilton or the Ariston hotels. Two negative things about the superior, deluxe and executive studios are : Noisy air-conditioning facing the bed and noisy fridge. Another thing to note is that the maids need to pay attention to details: A few spots here and there need better cleaning, like the shower floor and the fridge outside on top. In all my visits the fridge on top had dust. And there were a few times the maid forgot to put towels. Nothing much, but if it happens in 3 out of 10 days it gets boring. The staff is very kind; from the bellboys and the reception to the maids. ------ The restaurant is below average. The à la carte menu and the in-room dining are the same. The plates are Thai and European. I ate quite a few times and the food was just OK. But the prices are high for what you get. It's not worth it. The restaurant itself gives a kind of dirty feeling. Staff is not professional and nowhere near international hotel standards. (Small detail, but negative things add up quickly, when some staff members walk, they drag their feet on the floor and they make noise as they step on the back of their shoes transforming them into slippers; not so nice). A major problem of Oakwood 24 is breakfast. Last time was simply DISGUSTING. Small flies, dozens of them, were all over the salads and some sauces nearby. The bread was old and the croissants rock hard. The other items were too basic and indifferent. The spread had always been limited and of poor quality. Any amount paid does not justify that quality. That day, the manager should have shut the restaurant for breakfast down, but he didn't... Generally, it's a pitty the situation is like this, because guests deserve a decent breakfast. And this standard, flies apart, drags long time now. Despite the latter occurance, I do recommend this property and I will be staying again. Breakfast, you may make it in your kitchen or have it at Paul's or TWG at Emporium or at the Hilton. Regards, Nick P.
Staff very obliging and very curtious.. Location very close to Emporium walking distance. Close to many restaurants and bars. Staff very friendly and helpful they speak very good English which we found very good
Hotel staffs are always helpful. Good location with lots of shopping, eating and massage within walking distance. Room is clean, big and comfortable and rates are not pricey. Quiet as well. Will visit again soon.
I was invited to stay 1 night in this apartment hotel. The spacious 45 sqm room was equipped with everything which a guest needs. The breakfast was amazing in relation to the price difference with/without breakfast of 250 THB. Only negative point: The a/c is too loud and cannot be made silent even with fan mode change - could hardly sleep.
Everything are within a few minutes walk. When my family wants to enjoy easy lunch and wife wants to shop at the Emporium, its all within an easy reach. Really enjoyed the location and the staff flexibility with my family request. Especially felt pampered by their hotel General Manager, Bjorn who looked after us well. Thank you much and see you soon back in Bangkok...
We stayed in a one bed apartment for 19 days. The stand-out feature for us was the vast amount of storage space. Often when you book accommodation, there is a shortage of storage space to hang your clothes. Many places have few if any drawers. This place is incredible. There are drawers everywhere. In the desk, the coffee table, under both sides of the bed, in the dressing table, a huge locker at the foot of the bed, the bedside tables, a big cabinet at the entry door, in the TV cabinet and in the bathroom and kitchen. There are so many drawers we'll have to spend time checking them all when we check out later this week. Other establishments please take note. This is how it should be done. As well as the drawers there are lots of cupboards in the bedroom, the bathroom, and the kitchen. So well though out and designed. We could We stayed in a one bed apartment for 19 days. Good quality, solid furniture in a tasteful style, adequate lighting, very well equipped kitchen with range of utensils including sharp, quality knives. A variety of glasses, cutlery, cups and mugs are included. The rooms are serviced daily. There is a well equipped gym on the ground floor adjacent to the restaurant/ bar. There is a nice pool on the roof set in a well maintained garden setting. It is a just few minutes walk from the BTS and major shopping centres but also set back from the road in a quiet position. If I had to live in Bangkok, this would be a great place to do it. Certainly next time I visit, this is where I'll be.
Comfortable, friendly, reasonable priced, centrally located but still quiet - what you want more? Oh yes, and they also accepted our dog and didn't complain when she didn't make it to the nearby gras spot of the Hilton Sukhumvit... Really nice.
